I went with Nobigar (NOB-i-gar). I always liked Nob who worked at the Prancing Pony, so I wanted to come up with a name that would fit with Hobbit naming conventions but would Nob for short. Just because he is the only Nob in the book does not mean it wasn't a common name.
Nobigar Proudbelly - L35 Grand Master Chef, 3 Myrtle Court, Cropfurrows, Southfarthing, Landroval; Gaelivor - L65 Hunter - Lorien; Raeph - L38 Historian - Breeland; Daintybelle Oakenchest - L 65 Midwife - Blue Mountains.

Omg Ninetoes! I remember you!! I read your bio in Rivendell and I just lol'd in RL and had to PM you and compliment you on the creativity and funniness of it!!

For my hobbit guardian, she's Maygan Foxtail. Megan was taken so I wanted something that at least sounded like Megan. Though some idiot in /OOC thought it was a anagram for Gayman >< As for Foxtail, I think the Mathom House keeper is a pretty interesting dude! He gets to keep and look after all the old mathoms and know all the stories about them! If I was a hobbit, I would want to be born in that family so I could hear all the mathom tales and help look after them!

I followed the rules for short and ending in -o and came up with Menudo, but opted to scratch that one.

    Of hobbits, I play three:

    Guardian ... Loncome
    Hunter ... Wilsome
    Minstrel ... Trula

My hobbit's name is Mang, but that was always held as an alias or nickname for him, and he did actually have a true hobbit name. He's a Fallowhide and a Hunter, so it stands to reason he's either Tookish or Brandybuck.

However, according to http://www.barrowdowns.com/middleearthname.php, my name translates to Bingo Bushey from Deephallow (That's my name-o!), although according to http://www.chriswetherell.com/hobbit/, instead I'm Lardo Hamwich of Buckleberry Fern...

Oh my no ! We are keeping very busy, even the newest of Hobbits. There has been alot of visitors to our fair Shire from all over! We help them find brigands, spiders, and flies to slay. Some want to see the sites of the Shire and we show them around. Recently outsiders come to pick our flowers for an important mission from Bree too. There is food to gather and ale to make, oh, and more bounders to keep the peace. All of this on top of the Spring Festival. Very busy indeed

Puddlefoot because I am afraid of water, swimming and so on. Only queer people swim as a matter of fact.

Personnally when I see water I always walk some extra in order to avoid having to go through the water

Talking Re: What are you naming your hobbit?

I decided that I wanted my hobbit to go by normal hobbit naming conventions. I LOVE the name "Odovacar" from the books, so I knew I wanted an "-acar" ending, it sounds so cool. I looked at the list and saw that "Wil-" was one of the prefixes. "Wilacar" just sounds... natural. Like it could have easily been a hobbit in the books. I actually wondered if there WAS a hobbit named that. So I named my hobbit Wilacar. I wanted his last name to be Whitfoot but the game wouldn't let me. I wanted a real last name from the books and settled on "Longhole."

For my other characters, I decided that I'd always start their names with "Elo." I came up with "Elodie," which is short for "Elodiel" who is my lore-master. I've always liked the last name "Noakes" from the book so she became "Elodie Noakes." My third hobbit, a minstrel, is named "Elodrina" named after my captain "Elodrin." I'm still searching for a decent surname for her.

Re: What are you naming your hobbit?

I was in beta but did not share here any name in fear to lose them, I guess a year later I risk nothing. I have three Hobbits, one female burglar named Lilianrose, one male hunter named Tollbrand, and a male guardian named Rupertwise. During beta, my hunter's name was Tolbrand, but when the game went live or something, my memory is blurry on when we could keep the alts we made in the live version, someone had stolen the name and since I loved too much the name to lose it I added a l to Tolbrand to make Tollbrand.

Well, my usual practice of using Hobbit names (that has worked so well in past MMOs) didn't work so well in this game since all the Hobbit names have been taken by NPCs!

    Currently I have:

    Ogord lvl 50 Hobbit Guardian
    Odorfi lvl ~35 Dwarf Hunter
    Shaewyn lvl ~25 Hobbit Minstrel

but as an example, in AC I had:

    Frodo
    Odorf
    Drogo
    Ogord
    Bilbo
    Fosco
    Mostly Harmless since 1999!
Silverlode: Ogord - lv85 Hobbit Guardian; Shaewyn - lv75 Hobbit Minstrel; Odorfi - lv61 Dwarf hunter; Ogordi - lv51 Human Warden

Breglebed means "Quick-fingered" in Sindarin, a testament to his penchant for nicking other people's stuff.

I wanted his name to be Everard, but that's ripped directly from the FOTR, so that name's only in his Biography.

    Heh, my hobbit name...

Well I started out with a hobbit named Blordo but kinda that was kinda lame...

So I deleted him and made a Blubbler... but I got mocked in the first five minutes of the game.

so I eventualy jsut settle with the casualy common name

Utamatamaken......... I rarely ever have to worry about spam mail or random /tells

No one can spell my name right
