Game Sys: Tavern Larders 2.0
IntroductionTavern Larders provide players with a mechanic that makes their cooked wares available in lore-appropriate locations throughout the game world, apart from just the Auction Halls.
Posting Food for Delivery
When posting their food item in the Auction Hall interface, a player simply selects the For Delivery box in the left menu. In addition to the posting fee, a delivery charge is now added so that their food item is available at Taverns and Gathering Halls for player convenience throughout the game world.

Picking up Posted Food
Joe Gandalf at Ost Forod, for example, can now select Browse Tavern Larders from the Tavern Keep's interface, which opens up a buy-only auction window for delivered goods, so he can pick up a food item without having to go back to an Auction House.
For the purpose of keeping this concept simple, I'd say only finished food items, not ingredients or components, may be marked for delivery.

Zone restrictions
Zone Level determines what Tavern-keeps and select Provisioners sell. So places such as North Downs and LoneLands will only allow pickup of up to level 1-30 foods. To get level 40 foods and higher, a player will have to visit taverns and halls in those level of zones.

This is a revision of an older concept from years ago that players pointed out could be exploited. So this revamp uses a level-based buy-only system. You can view the obsolete version via the link at the bottom for reference.

You put alot of work into that idea. Of all the ideas on here, I hope something like this gets implemented. It would be a significant addition to the game. I won't be surprised to see something like this added in the future.« Seyz Vanguard - R14 »

Re: Game Sys: Tavern Larders 2.0
That is actually quite a good idea. I can not count the times that I went to Bree with the sole intention of visiting the AH to buy food to only forget to do so and having to settle for rations once I reach my destination. least with this, I am usually closer to a tavern than the few AH out there

Re: Game Sys: Tavern Larders 2.0
Question: would the food go straight into your inventory or be sent to a mailbox like other auction items?
I am sure you are probably envisioning it going straight to inventory, but that would require an intermediate AH systems tweak: either allow AH food items only bought through Tavern larders to skip mail, or create an invisible transaction where tavern larder items go through the tavern store into your inventory.
Either way would work, but this is what I see as the biggest coding challenge for implementation. Other than that, this idea rocks (like your many other fine ideas).

Re: Game Sys: Tavern Larders 2.0
Can we just make this dude a dev already? Or at least a creative consultant? Turbine has been ignoring him for years, and yet we all want to see this stuff in game. What's the deal?
Yes sir, we tore the universe a new spacehole alright.

Re: Game Sys: Tavern Larders 2.0
Very true. Amon Raith, Bree Fairgrounds, Adso's Camp, Lin Giliath, and Echad Candelleth lack mailboxes. Turbine could add some I suppose. Or if that doesn't seem appropriate since those places are camps, perhaps designate one of the NPCs just standing there with the name Messenger and have them function the same way, as this is not without precident.
"'I'm in a hurry,' said he, 'and I've no time myself, but I want a message took to the Shire. Have you anyone you can send, and trust to go?
"I can find someone,' I said, 'tomorrow, maybe, or the day after."

This is a neat idea, though I'd be more likely a consumer who used it than a vendor.
