Re: What sword are you using?
If I am looking at 50 icpr, I see it's value at the time I am 50 power short, or 100 after 2 minutes etc, and don't have it. If I absoluotely need it to share power with a mini or warden and it is not there and I could have had it, then I have a less than optimal build.
For the specific build I am thinking of where I use these swords in a raid, I have maxed out or almost maxed out will, fate, food, and equipment. So, I have already added up all the little bits that together add up to nice big numbers. One of the few numbers left is 50 icpr on a sword which I can take or not.
But, if with playstyle I can do without that last little bit of 50 icpr in exchange for 170 morale, I will make that trade. So, I can watch how fast the minis are using power, ie. how much damage the melee are taking, how much power the spells I am casting use, and see at what point in the fight I can draw power which I can't do if I am being interrupted, and if I can do that and not be 50 power short, I don't take the 50 icpr. If I am careless and run out without noticing, then well, I suck.
A current end game Lm can easily run with 5000 power before buffs if they choose for a power hungry fellowship. By easily I don't mean it doesn't take time to get the stuff
, I mean there are many ways to get that number in ways that suit each player's preference of play.

In light of the upcoming change whereby all LMs get sword and staff at lviv 40 as a skill, I though this discussion was worth resurrecting. Thought on swords?

I normally use:
http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Item...he_Steady_Mind
But always keep:
http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Item%3ALhoir-cledhu
on hand for orcs or if I'm in a DPS role.

Dropped off a landscape mob in the Heathfells for me (Level 75 version).
DPS is low, but the other stats aren't bad.

I personally use a fairly rubbish sword that I've probably out levelled really but the best I've seen (for stats rather than damage) is definitely this crafted one lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Weapon:Steadfast_Sword_of_Théo dred (sorry dud link)

I'm using http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Item...d_of_the_Brute (it's really Deadly Straight Sword of the Stoic, but they never got around there to changing them back)

I'm using http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Item...ord_of_Insight currently.
I do have the one a couple of folks mentioned (Ithilwegil) but my Will is pretty high already and my tac mit is capped in raids, so I prefer the crafted one for the crit rating and the extra raw morale.Silverlode Elitist

Did the sums and the sword you can get for rep in Stangard scores over it on Tac mastery, the net benefit from the Straight Sword is a bit of crit rating, about 1.5%. Might become different with differing builds. Dps goes up marginally for the sword, but the drop in mastery may knock if back again on auto attacks. Beleriand damage type might balance that up again. Needs some serious parses to tell because in the end the only real issue will be crit rating.

I go for the one that looks the nicest.

Me too. I don't like the great river and theodred crafted swords because of their looks. So I've been using http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Item%3APica-cledhu. It's a nice looking sword.
