When does the same-sex version(s?) launch?
Not that there's anything wrong with that...
Same-sex versions? I thought that is what you have normally in games?
d00d sees chica in-game. d00d hits on chica in-game. d00d and chica hook up in-game. d00d and chica get engaged and then married in-game. d00d later finds out that chica is a 40-year old d00d living in his grandmother's basement irl. d00d realizes his in-game marriage to chica who is a d00d irl is legally binding in the State of Maryland. d00d shrugs his shoulders and rolls with it.
WoW and EQ2 would be totally different games if this wasn't such an every day occurrence.

I know several women that play LotRO... yes, they are women in real life. Yes there has been the casual occasional flirt, but nothing more. I respect these women because I am a father of girls and I wouldn't want other men to treat my daughters poorly or disrespect my wife of 19 years either, so I show same respect when I interact with women in LotRO. I find it a good thing that LotRO attracts both men and women Gamers, it is a sign of a healthy game design and a indication that Turbine is doing something right in bringing Middle Earth to the MMO world. Just because I am a man doesn't mean my hormones control me all the time... and I have 6 kids so they have controlled me at some point.
I am a grandfather now, I have 5 daughters, 1 son, a grandson, and soon a grand daughter. I know that both males and females can... cause "trouble"... and that females are particularly adept at making it look like it's the guy's fault (I know I caught a few of my daughters scheming once or twice)...so I know it's not just the guy's that get out of hand...
But the website we are discussing, and others like them, I find not only offensive in general, but also insulting to the hobby that I love... Online Gaming (MMOs and similar). Any relationships between Gamers should occur as the already do... during the process of playing the game together. There are many People that met each other in the virtual world and now are together in the real world. It's one of best things about the internet... and the website/game we are discussing takes that and perverts it horribly. It should not be "forced" or be a center design feature as the website in question in my opinion.
I sincerely hope the website/game service falls flat on it's face in financial ruin.
I'm 38....for me, I usually shrug it off. But when you have that type of thing directed at a teenage girl....or someones granny for that matter....it's just not right.
I had to laugh at this one. I agree on the teenage girl part, especially at the younger ages. But we "grannies" have heard it all and worse, and usually in real life.
