Thread: Captain skills chart

Hi all.

I like charts. Don't you? I originally cobbled this together because I was curious about our class skill spread along with application to groups/solo/etc. Let me know if there are any errors, since there probably are some (it's rough); I went with different functional categories and just alphabetical skill names instead of in-game categories (e.g. Bolster). Discussion is encouraged. Useful? Maybe. At least it's colorful.



(Note: IHW doesn't actually benefit "all including ourselves" according to my legend. But still...)

Edit: Updated for RoI (I don't know if there were any changes to sub-65 skills at this time). Stupid Lorebook scripting is broken.

You put a lot of work into this, very impressive of you to take the time. I like the chart alot, never really put much thought into what was what on my captain so thanks.

Thanks. I hope if anything, a chart like this will at least give a feel for role skills in relation to group/solo play, if nothing else. I tweaked a few things already since posting, but basically captains have a nearly equal weight of skills among DPS/heal/buff roles, which is interesting. Threat (tank) has the lowest number of skills besides utility, but that's not including passive skills like heavy armor and shields, of course. Moreover all of those skills can be used at the same time in the middle of combat without switching stances or traits or somesuch, with the exception of specific gating. Nifty.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Trilwych again.

Shadow's Lament also does melee damage...at least I think it does...things die when I use it.

Otherwise, love the spring/Easter colors.

Notes on tweaks:

I had Inspire as a pure "heal" type skill, but of course many people use it for the additional DPS as well, so I added that secondary category; then I realized that I had categorized Tactics:Relentless as a primary Buff, secondary Dmg skill, right? Of course, To Arms and War-cry are primary Buffs as well, with indirect Dmg. So I switched those to Buff, and we really have a lot of buffs! I left the Dmg(DPS) skills as only direct ones for less confusion. More tweaks may be warranted later.

I briefly checked, and it looks like images can be uploaded directly, which would be easiest instead of trying to convert the whole thing to wiki-code (gah!)... But I wouldn't know where to put this in the Lorebook in the first place. Suggestions welcome. Or I wouldn't mind if someone else stuffed this into an appropriate page either.

I'm not a big fan of chart unfortunately but you putted some works on that so its great. Its like that guy who also did the Warden Combo Sheet - that might be the only one thing i use.

Updated with the new skill. I'm having a heck of a time trying to connect to LotRO websites in general now, though, so I won't try to update the Lorebook until later.

OK one time when i was watching my brother play the game i thought i saw a ghost that had 9000 and something health that was helping them now is this something a captain can do or is this a fellowship move you can do?

like i know captains can summon a oath breaker archer but it only has like 5000 or 6000 health but i thought i saw an oath breaker that was bigger in size and health and it was melee.

so anyone know what i'm talking about or was i just seeing things?
