Opening Ceremonies will start in Rivendale at the top of the mountain where Arawen is standing and finish at the Kin house. Our torch will be fireworks. Anyone who wants to actually be a torch bearer will be given fireworks and a spot on the path from Rivendale to the Kin house. Anyone who does not actually want to run with a torch can still meet up and run with the group from any city along the way or meet us at the kin house. Once the torch makes it to the kin house we will set off all the fireworks at once and the Olympics will be officially open - yay!
Our 1st game is a chicken run to Bree. Meet up at Sandsons farm to begin the run. The starting point is in the planter boxes. Everyone who is a chicken will want to be in vent because you cannot team while in chicken form. We will need someone to start the race and someone to be the judge to take the screenshot to determine the winner. Starter just needs to "say" the count down - 1,2,3 go to signal the start of the race in case we have people that don't have vent. The finish line is the west Bree gate.
April 2nd
Copper ore gathering. Meet up in MD crafting area so that everyone who is a prospector can purchase the lowest level tool and use only that during this challenge so that no one has any advantage over another. Also no use of horses or run speeds to get around the map. You have 20 min to collect as much copper ore as you can. When time is up - you need to link your results into kin chat.
Fence walking is next. Meet up at the Kin house and then go behind it to the feilds. Starting point is the the fence by the little door on the building. This is not a race so you do not have to go fast. Last person standing without falling off is the winner.
April 3rd
Leap Frog. Meet up at the kin house. Starting point is a corner of the 1st green field behind the kin house. You must find a partner to do this race. Just hop over each other with less than two steps per hop. You shouldn't actually have to step at all. Continue hopping over each other around the inside of the fence and just in the 1st green field. Finish is where the race started.
Hide and Seek. This is a lot of fun but a little complicated. Everyone meets up at the west Bree gate. Then all people interested in playing will split up into being either a hider or a seeker. Seekers step out of Bree and wait on the bridge. Everyone must have names turned off and not be in a party! Hiders must put on a costume to help determine that they are part of the game and then go hide - you must be outside of the buildings but inside the gates. Once you have your spot chosen you can not move for any reason. Type into kin chat when you are ready. Once all hiders are ready - the seekers have 10 min to find as many hiders as possible. 1 point for every hider found. You must call out when you find someone and also what their name is. Vent is good for this but kin chat will be fine as well. Judges must help keep track of how many people each person finds. Once the 10 min are up - Hiders become the seekers and seekers become the hiders and this second round is played just like the 1st. Most points wins - in the event of a tie we can either have a play off round with the winners or roll and highest rolls win.
April 4th
Beginner fishing. To make this fair you must have less than 5 levels of fishing in your hobby deed. Any person who does not have the hobby started can meet up at MD in the Bird and Baby Inn to get your pole. Only lowest level poles can be used for this game. The fishing spot will be the pond in Hobbiton which lies under the "N" in Hobbiton. Everyone pick your spot and when everyone is ready a 20 min timer will start. At the end of the 20 min link your purple fish to kinchat - the person with the most purple fish wins.
Tag. The min size for groups to work in the tag area is 4 but we can have more then that as needed. All people who want to play will be split up into groups and we will have 10 min rounds. To start the game - go inside and have someone click on the stand. Its random who ever becomes the 1st "It" person. You must not run out of the arches in the doorway and again no run speeds or sneaking. The goal is to be "It" the least. Whenever you do become It though you must call out your name in vent or type a 1 in kin chat. Judges help keep score. Lowest score wins if anyone ties we can have a playoff or roll to determine the winners.
April 5th
Chicken swimming. Again go to Sandsons farm to gain chicken form and get in vent to hear everyone. Same type of start with someone "saying" the countdown. The actual starting point of this race though is on the Bywater bridge and you swim towards the bog. The finish line is where the water is low and turns into the bog.
Farmer/cook relay. This is a timed challenge and you need to find a partner - 1 cook and 1 farmer and only lowest tools used and no horses or run speeds. The challenge is to create as much Roast Pork as possible. You have 20 min and start at the MD crafting area. At the start of the 20 min farmers must purchase the onion supplies- run to the fields and grow as many onions as they dare. When they think they have enough onions they run back to their partner cook who will then take the onions and purchase the pork shank and butter needed and cook as many dishes as possible until time runs out. The team with the most completed dishes linked to kinchat will win. Any ties will roll to determine winning team.
April 6th
Wood gathering. Starting point will be in MD crafting area to purchase lowest level tools. You have 20 min to get as much rowan wood as possible - link to kin chat at end of time. No horses or run speed.
Backwards fence walking. Same starting point in the fields behind the kin house - same rules except that it is backwards on the fence. In between each fence section though you will need to run forward to be able to jump back up on the fence.
April 7th.
Nen Harn Freestyle. Start on the Southern Shore and swim to the Northern Shore. Touch the shoreline and then swim backwards all the way back to the southern shore! First one there wins!
Brandywine endurance swimming. Start at the Brandywine Bridge, we jump off the bridge and swim north. The first fork on the map that heads East, take that (right turn) who ever gets to the waterfall first wins!
April 8th
Chicken run to foraken Inn. Start in planter boxes at Sandsons farm with someone "saying" countdown. Finish line is on the porch of the Forsaken Inn.
Scholar item collecting. Start in MD crafting area. You have 20 min to find as many scholar items as possible- without killing anything. Again no run speeds or horses and link results to kinchat.
April 9th
Backwards horse race. Level 20 horses. Meet up at the horse farms in Bree. We will use the training track as our race track. You must only move backwards around the track. No turning forwards to jump over anything. Be aware you cannot jump going backwards and that the puddles are deep enough in the very center to cause the shorter people to lose their horse so plan your path carefully.
Prospector/jewler relay. You must find a partner. Start in MD crafting area and pick up lowest tools. You have 20 min for prospector to go find as much copper ore as they dare to get it back to the jewler in time to make as much copper jewlery as they can. Link results to kin chat.
April 10th
3 man swimming. Groups of three will form when all who are participating arrive at the southern end on Nen Harn's lake. There are three islands in the form of a triangle, each of the three members will be on of of the three islands. The member in the southwestern most island will start the race and head west to that island where that member will head north to the big island. The third member will then take the final leg southward tot he first island where the first finisher wins!
Chicken race around shire horse track. Meet at sandsons farm to get chicken form then travel to the start of the shire horse track. Someone "says" countdown. 1st chickens over finishline win.
April 11th
3 man relay. For this race you need to find a team of 3 people. One person able to have a level 35 horse, a second with a level 20 horse and the 3rd will be running. The starting point will be the west Bree gate. The 1st leg is the level 35 horse and they will run to the Brandywine Bridge where their partner will be standing with their level 20 horse at the start of the wood on the bridge. The 2nd leg is from there to the well in the center of Bywater. Once there the 3rd leg person starts running to the finishline which is the wood statue in the center of MD.
Chicken run until death. Start at Sandsons farm in the planter box with someone "saying" the count down. Run as far towards rivendale as you can before you die. When you die call out your location on vent or type in kin chat. Whoever makes it the fathest wins.
April 12th
Chicken run to Thorins Hall. Starting place is in the planter box with someone "saying" the countdown. The finishline is the top of the stairs at Thorins Hall.
Forester/woodworker relay. You must find a partner. Start is in MD crafting area to pick up lowest level tools. You have 20 min for the forester to gather as much rowan wood as they dare to bring it back to thhe wood workerto make as many rowan bow staves as they can. Link to kin chat.
April 13th
Level 20 horse race. This race is going to be at the bree race track. Start is at the regular starting line but you must run around the track 3 times. Finish is at the starting point but only on the 3rd lap.
Chicken run to Trestlebridge. Start point is at sandsons farm in the planter boxes. Someone "says" countdown. Finish is at the end of the wood at the far end of the Trestlebridge bridge.
April 14th
Our last event is the sinister keg challenge. Everyone drinks and whoever goes the farthest wins. In the event of a tie a drink off to determine the winners.
To start off the party for the closing Ceremony we will have some sparring. No points will be awarded - its just for fun
Prizes are awarded as is and have no cash value.
If you would like to participate please contact any of our officers for an invite to the kin and join in the fun. Try one or try them all - join a team and represent a specific region of middle earth.

We have our own scheduled events running every month which are designed to help people get through aspects of the game that are normally hard to find groups for. I specifically design our events to touch all levels and some of the most skipped over content in the game while adding an atmosphere of additional fun and competition.
Having said that we do not expect everyone to participate in every event - everything we do is entirely optional to our members, we do ask that new recruits and members try to be patient while an event is going on as a large amount of the kin does participate and finding individual attention may be difficult in event times.
Upcoming events

A big welcome to all new FoF recruits and members!
I would like to thank everyone in FoF for making us such a wonderful kin and celebrate as we hit 800 on our roster today!
It is wonderful to see we can still be friendly outgoing and helpful to so many people and run activities people can pick and choose from which interests them as well as be able to tackle harder instances.
The Officers in FoF deserve great recognition for their continued support and contributions to the kin!
1. You must be a recruit/member or officer of Friends of Frodo at anytime during the contest time frame to enter
2. you must make a new character – you may make a new character anytime between August 20 and September 10 for this event however you may not level past level 10 . Only Characters Level 10 or under on the Start date will qualify.
3. Your character must not die – you may re-roll your character as many times as you would like, however to continue in the contest your character must remain death free.
4. If your character does die you are free to begin again as many times as you like, however if you do delete a character their advancement will not count towards final standings (ie you die at level 39 and delete and re-roll – you will not get credit for level 39 if that is the highest at the end of the contest period)
5. You have approximately 3 weeks to level as far as you can without dying. The first person to 65 (and still alive) will win. If there are no 65’s at the end of the contest time period the character who has advanced the furthest without dying will be the winner. Same rules apply to 2nd, 3rd, etc….

A memorial takes place today Sunday January 16 2011 for Jimmly
he was founder of FOF, coleader and my husband if you are interested in attending please join us at our kin house at 4 pm est
We are very sorry to hear about your husband and compainion. The loss of someone that you love and care for one of the most difficult things to deal with. Our hearts are with you during this time of sadness... Jimmly was a friend to many on this server, he was a whole hearted person and will be dearly missed.
Your friends in Middle Earth,
Rangers of the Dunedain (~Voxyn)
Friends of Frodo annual Random Flower Give-away will be occurring on Valentine's Day, Feb 14th.
Do not be surprised if someone from our great kin hands you some flowers/initiates trade to gift you on this day of sharing love. We expect nothing in return but hope for a brief smile to appear on your face in real life
I would like to extend my thanks to all the kin for keeping things going while I took some time off after the death of Jimmly.
I am returning to the game this week and plan to reinstate some of our events that have lapsed.
March will mark the return of Member of the month and Officer of the month it also brings with it our biggest FOF annual celebration The Festival of the wild Boar!
Many of you will recall from previous years that on the First Saturday evening (est) of March FoF takes to the streets of Bree by mass all sporting our "pork chopper" titles to honour this great animal with a large parade from the west doors to the south doors then back to the boar fountain for an evening of song and dance.
Our cooks make a feast of delectable pork items and Along the way we give away free pork food items to the hungry, needy or just plain greedy
Feel free to join us and open trade with any FoFer for your free pork dishes!
We hope you will join us!
This is FoF's biggest, longest running and most successful event, so please come join in the festivities!
This Saturday is our Festival of the Wild Boar! We'll be parading and giving away pork products and singing and dancing and who knows maybe even throw in a few chicken races too!
We also have a kin contest going on
Come to the festival wearing the best "boar" outfit. I will screenshot everyone (make sure you grab me and pose at sometime during the festival) and we will vote on the best and most creative outfits here on the forums. Pass it along and lets see some great out fits
1st prize - Symbol of Celebrimbor
2nd prize - 2g
3rd prize - 1g
4th and 5th prizes 500s each
Best Kin Screen Shot (to be of the kin as a group) - 2g
You must be in the kin to be elidgable to win - all details are on our website forums
Good Luck Kinnies
As many of you know another of our beloved kinmates has sadly passed away
Elnorod (Steve) was one on the most optomistic of people I have ever met battling cancer. He and Jimmly (and myself) shared experiences throught the passed few years when he was well enough to log on and play.
He helped me through Jimmly's stays in the hospital, as he too was often separated from his family for treatments, it was always comforting to have him log in and chat, even if only for a little while.
He leaves behind a beloved sister Jess in our kin. I know they were close.
He passed away from his long battle with cancer Saturday the 12th
we will be having an in game memorial on Saturday the 19th at 9 pm EST and would ask a few people to say a few words for our friend. The Memorial will be at our kinhouse and is open for all to attend who wish to.
Know he is always in our thoughts and prayers and will go down as a great member of our Kin who bravely fought against the forces of evil in two worlds at the same time
We will miss our friend!
March 17th is our annual pub night and we will have a round of Toasts to Elno in his memory!
hi all I've been in and out for a bit with a broken wrist for the last 6 weeks but the cast is off and starting therapy to move the wrist again so I should be in the full swing of things soon
I thought I'd update our officer list for everyone looking to join
Lydiawulf has taken over raid leader and is doing a fantastic job for our members, so if you have any questions about end game content please contact her direct
our website changed after Jimmly passed away and we are currently at www.rguilds.guildportal.com you can find all our policies, rules and our Decree there.
The Legends of men tell us that in a time long before, a race of wise and sturdy wild horses lived to the North, and their ancestry traced back to the west, being brought over by the Vala Orome.
A foal was captured by the King and raised to be a beautiful, strong white horse. The King however was killed when he tried to mount the horse. His son took the horse for himself and named it Felarof, who would grow to be known as one of the greatest horses ever, even understanding the speech of man.
Felarof was brought south to Rohan where he would father a race of horses that could compare to none, known as the Mearas. These horses were stronger, faster and smarter than other horses and lived lives as long as Man. The Mearas were only known to allow Kings and sons of kings to ride them. This tradition was broken by Gandalf who was able to tame Theoden’s horse Shadowfax, who would later gift the horse to the wizard. Shadowfax’s legendary speed was of vital importance for Gandalf’s missions and it allowed him to make many just in time appearances. It is believed that Shadowfax left Middle-earth together with his master Gandalf.
Gandalf’s relationship with Shadowfax opened the way for others, who after completing great deeds, would also be gifted beautiful, strong, fast white horses thought to be related to be related to Shadowfax himself. The ability to ride these horses is a gift we should celebrate and we should honour this great line of horses.
Friends of Frodo invited you to join the Second annual tribute to Shadowfax and the Mearas. This event was held May 29th 2011 at 1000 pm est.
We formed a parade through Middle Earth riding our white horses (book ones) Starting at the Bree West Gate and ending at Garth Forthnir, offering to aid anyone who needed help with books in Volume one along the way. The aid was announced in Regional chat, and members of the parade broke off to help others complete books as necessary, and returned to the parade when they were done.
Thankyou to all who participated in the event this year!!!
The turn-out was fantastic, and we even picked up a non-kinnie along the way who completed the ride with us.
Our tour guide, Jtcoop, added the fun factor by taking us through some stable points, some trolls, some elites, and of course winding us up in circles along the way.
There were not a lot of requests for help, which allowed us to get all the way to Gath Forthnir this year, even taking a few across the Dread Statues into East Angmar who had not yet completed the epic to allow safe travel there
We also Killed Bogbereth!!! Twice!! hehe
Great spirit kin!!
