So I've been thinking of coming back to the game but I had a few questions.
Have they changed leveling at all? I mean the quests are fun but there's just too many group quests and not enough people to run them with. So Most of the time I was stuck not finishing part of the story because no one around needed the quest or there just wasnt anyone else around. I mean I could have asked some of the higher level people I knew for help but I know its annoying running a lowbie around when you have things to do on your own character.
Secondly how is the end game PVE? I've done my fair share of raiding and I really don't feel like getting into it hardcore again. Are the raids pug-able or would I have to join a guild with a strict raiding schedule? Really If that's the case I guess I'd be happy joining for a filler spot.
Lastly have they added anymore focus on PVP or Freeps vs Creeps w/e its called :P. Seemed like it would be a lot of fun although there weren't any rewards (that I heard of) from it.
Not sure this is even the right area to post this but oh well.

They have been working to make the game more soloable, particularly at the lower levels. All of the volume 1 epic quests are all soloable now using the Inspired Greatness buff. This has helped quite a lot of people get through the epic quests that they were stuck at. The Lone Lands has been revamped to make questing smoother and to allow for alternate solo and group paths. At higher levels, you'll still need to group for quite a few of the book quests (volume 2)...but then you will probably find more higher level people willing to run those instances and there are a fair number of people pugging those instances as well. I did a few of them in pugs.
For endgame raids and instances, you'll see pugs regularly for some of the instances (SG, SH, sometimes dungeons or warg pens) but not for the current endgame raid (BG) since many kins are still figuring it out. The Moria instances seem to be run pretty often on Meneldor and I see pugs forming for Grand Stairs, Forges and HoC all the time. I would say you'll still find it easier being in a kin that raids during your playing time, though. In our kin at least, people do switch in and out, so you don't necessarily have to commit to the whole raid, and I don't think we are that unusual.
As for PvP, it's definitely not a focus. My understanding is that it hasn't changed much at all.
1> Its now more soloable than ever, all the way to endcap. Even the couple places like around levels 30 and 40 you used to run low on solo quests have been ironed out.
2> The Moria and Lothlorien level 60 instances are frequently run by PuGs and have useful endgame rewards. The level 65 6man instance is pretty good and frequently PuGed. The level 65 raid is so hard and the rewards are so weak that even raiding kins are having troubles doing it and keeping raider interested in doing it.

I'm glad they fixed it then and yeah I'm 39 and I remember it was starting to get pretty harsh on solo quests.

I dont expect to pug new progression content. Just enough to keep me interested and decently geared
