I've had this idea kicking around in my head ever since reading THIS thread on the General Discussion boards, but also wanted to post something to encourage our recently returned players right here on Windfola. Namely, a thread dedicated to the multitude of little but delightful things about LOTRO that keep us all playing. Sort of a way to stop and digitally smell the roses, if you will.
For me it's things like:
The smiles in the voices of my kinmates in Vent.
Leaves fluttering on the trees, stirred by the wind.
Sunrise and sunset. If you can catch LOTRO's sun at just the right angle, you can take a beautiful screenshot.
Thunderstorms, especially in Angmar. Very atmospheric. I always turn up the sound so I can get the full effect of the "thunder".
The moon and the stars reflected in water.
That's all digitized stuff (except for my laughing kinmates, of course), but it adds up to make for a very enjoyable gaming experience.
1.Running through the shire at any time of day/night. Always looks beautiful and anywhere can make a good screen shot.
2.Trollshaws at night upon some of the hills can make for a nice relaxing spot.
3. Evendim day reflections and night reflections.
4. Forochels Aura
5. I wish the thunderstorms were like they were in beta with the lightning strikes and thunder that would make you blind and deaf :P but they are still pretty cool.
6. Lastly the community, even though there is a lot of trolls here on windfola (Even myself sometimes) i can still have fun conversations with them, and i hope they all know that its all for fun and not take me seriously :P I love you all <3
These beautiful things are very important to me during gameplay. However, there is only one sound issue I haven't been able to sort out: The sound of water.
I can't hear the sound of running rivers when I am standing right beside them. It sucks to me. But all the other things are just beautiful. If anyone knows how to fix this water sound issue, please post something to help me out.
Fishing in Bree in the old days while waiting for the SoT raids
Late-night Kin-house Keg draughts..never know where you'll end up.
Taking SS of creeps and freeps just sitting together enjoying the 1v1s/or just that bored.
Being able to call many people on Windfola friend, and know they will come help if they are able.
Knowing that whenever RL hits you hard, you can always go and hit a freep or creep harder!
"Invader's blood marches through my veins like radioactive rubber pants! The pants command me, do not ignore my veins!"-Zim
The stories. The little dramas that happen between the NPCs. The mysteries and interactions with the quests. Really, the writers behind some of the storylines are simply excellent.
But really what keeps me coming back is all the friends I've made.
Narlinde, level 85 Minstrel, Rank 10, Member of Trucido ~ Windfola
- trying to explain to my wife why running pies and mail can be so frustrating then...
- hearing her curse when she was spotted holding a pie while crossing the little bridge into Hobbiton.
- bounty quests, as a returning player I really enjoyed extra reward for doing the Far Chetwood & Barrows quests.
- Goblin Town. I just hope I can convince others to go there when I reach the Misties again.
- Volume 1 changes, I never did get past book 8 so I look forward to seeing what happens past CD.

1. Everything about The Shire! Rainbows, Inn League runs, pie runs, rep items (yes I tried to deed using a pitchfork. lol) the Party Tree and that orange butterfly fluttering about by the milestone in Hobbiton-Bywater.
2. My Hobbit hole - I love my house and everything in it: Gen. Talug's armour, the Ominous Pool and Nanu's hiding place
3. Forochel at night - the night sky in that place is just awesome. Oh, I just discovered a guy near Ida's encampment that falls off his skates if you click him. lol
4. My minstrel and having to use so many different kinds of instruments and teaching other people to play
5. My LM's other pets: the fox and the turtle are just cute
6. Festivals-learning new dances, winning races after trying a bajillion times and fireworks
7. The keg--you'll never know where you wake up next!
8. The glowy animation your weapon makes depending on what kind of damage it deals. (Beleriand is my favorite.)
9. Hooded cloaks!
10. Titles like "Pie Maven" or "The Naughty" and emotes like /firebreath.
1. I really enjoy playing a hobbit and getting the little guy all dressed up with different outfits.
2. Another thing I enjoy is adventuring/wondering about it places I've always been too, but finding places I have yet to have seen in those areas.
3. Amandagames's voice <3 (She's like Fluttershy from MLP:FiM)
4. Jumping off the top of extremely high things...and surviving!
5. Fredyy
6. Draigoch bugging out, then having the players start laughing... satanically.
7. The random barghests that bug out and get rooted in the Great Barrows when they target my hobbit mini.
So many other goodness. But I'll keep this short :P

Re: Little things that keep you playing.
The little things that keep me playing.
1. My wonderful Kin 4 of us have been here since open beta. That's how much we love this game.
2. Exploring new areas with my husband and friends, like the time we stumbled in to a cave at the back on Goblintown and saw the lake, the boat and island. Everyone stopped and the fellowship chat went wild...Do you know Where we are???lol
3. Fishing, yeapers that right Fishing, when I've had a bad day in RL nothing takes the edge off like a quiet little stream in the shire. Turn off all the other chat channels but kin, turn off all names and chat bubbles turn up the music and relax...my own little bit of heaven in the shire.
4. Every wacked out misadventure that my Kin takes and laughs it off. From the Chairs we rode from Bree-town to Estilden, to out atempts to run through the PvMP area naked. My people love to find something silly to do.
5. The Beauty of our Kin house bought the night, housing opened, Quan funding the buying of the house, Telling me he would be right back he needed to go to the store for some dinner, saying KK see you soon and thanks ever so much for funding our Kin house. He never made it Back...His heart gave out while he was at the store. We miss our Quan/Butch we miss our friend, I think of him everytime I go in the kin house...the house he bought.
1. The hobbit haters!
2. Glff at 3 am <3 you guys
3. Those strange people that dislike bacon.
4. Anfa's Ginger beard!
5. The community, I hate most of you a lot more than I should, but it's fun watching you rage in glff!
One last one: The random +Dust that comes into Glff sometimes. One of the few Hobbits I like
I still want my trollolol title Dust...
