I am trying to make a legendary weapon to be used for auto attack and herald’s strike only. The rest of my power will be used for self heals. And as for Piercing cry, not sure about this one.
For weapon Legacies only SoS hot pulse seem to somewhat matter.
Maxed tactical damage if Piercing cry is also in play.
For my book the standard healing legacies and healing power cost.
As for the relics. The -2.5% Attack duration. Does this mean it will shorten the time between auto attacks? And do two of them stack? (weapon/book)
Will use relics with +melee crit on it and melee defense.
Will use dagger for auto attack crit bonus.
I will raise my might and agility as high as I can.
What do you guys think about this project? Can it be useful against some elites otherwise a mini can not solo?
Back during SoA, I met exactly one minstrel who had decided he was going to be a melee minstrel with herald's strike, medium armour, and all the might/agility/vitality he could trait. While it was pretty impressive, he still paled in comparison to any of the melee classes in terms of being able to dps anything. The simple fact is that a WS traited minnie does such stupidly-high damage in war speech that there's almost no point to bother with any other dps model, sadly.
I turtled up on my minnie when I first hit 60 in MoM, and could tank Igash... but that's a bit unnecessary.
On the plus side, because you need practically 0 legacies, you can put Might, Agility, and Vitality legs on your weapon and book and get +48 to each of those stats.
its a legit idea. In a really, really bad fight you can be reduced to healing yourself while autoattacking and doing almost zero dps from skills. Like picking a fight with a master elite shard dropper -- some of those, even at mob level 50, can kill you if you are not careful.
Ideas: Have you looked at the crafted and or dropped weapons? What you really need is the biggest dps number, I think thats a second age LI, maybe look for a total garbage fail craft one to buy?
stat legacies is a good idea, and the relics of course.
If you can find one, a weapon that has a bleed on it (like a spear, but we cannot use those) might be worth a shot, or a weapon that debuffs its own damage type (5% bel debuff for example) which is why I said look at dropped and crafted items.
Anyway no clue over what you already said for a LI but take a really good look at the non legendaries out there.

Thank you for the suggestion, I will keep an eye on this in A.H.
As a side note, make sure you have a songbook with Ballad of War legacy. You can also use the melee crit/offense crafted relics in your LIs. If you are REALLY looking to turtle up, -healing skills power cost might be helpful also?
Thank you for your reply AceItcher,
Ballards will not be used for this build. And yes I have the healing skills power cost legacy.
I understand the desire to not use ballads, but by not using them at all you are lowering your DPS 10%, or legacied 20%.
Traiting for 30s Ballads would mean only playing 6 Ballads a minute, you could get away with one anthem every minute if slotting battle-hymn glorious anthem. This may not fit the "auto-attack" minstrel but it pretty much describes a "melee" minstrel.
We have not talked much about build yet but I would think medium armour coupled with improved tale of warding, something like 4/3 PoS/WS would be most effective and still acheive much of what you are desiring. Please disregard this if you are deleting every skill but NC, HH, RtS, BC, SoS, TS, CoS.
If I were melee minstrel I would spec
Heralds Hammer
Medium Armour
Unrelenting
Battle-Hymn
Strength of Voice
Glorious Anthem
Heralded Resolve
This of course assumes I am using Ballad of War, otherwise the 30s ballads are useless. This should also put you at 40% common mitigation, self heal when using HH all the time, still give you a stun, 45s AoTFP.

I am sure two will stack, not sure the effect on auto attacks.
Edit
After some logging I found that with -10% Attack Duration my AA attacks were about 1.62-1.68s apart. Without the -10% attack duration they ranged 1.86-1.88s apart.
This was achieved using Ballad of Swiftness so I would not need to swap weapons.

Sorry I didn't realize you meant JUST auto attacks. If so, I would think that you would need to forgoe a legendary weapon completely and go with regular weapon as the dps rating will be significantly higher. I can't remember exactly what the minstrel weapons cap at but 62.0 sticks in my head. I think there is a dropped club, from SG maybe, with nice stats, melee crit and is 68.3 dps with Beleriand damage. I don't know what race you are but that would be nice for hobbit with the racial. Otherwise I am not sure if there are any 68.3 dps swords for man/elf. Or dwarf I am sure there are a couple of axes.
All that said, not using the Ballad of Swiftness or Ballad of War buffs make this an extremely silly test IMO. It seems to me like you wouldn't even need to parse. Your damage will be fairly close to the weapon dps #. Somewhat higher when you factor in Herald's Strike but I wouldn't think a ton higher. I mean you could make a keyboard macro to heal every 30s or something and just walk away and get a sandwich and watch a movie or something. But good luck anyway! =)

The question at the heart of the matter really is what kind of sandwich?
