    Tabs for lotro soundtrack?

    Does anyone the guitar tabs for autumn ale, beeland jig, and lay of the free people. Or if anyone here is really good, could you figure it out by ear.
    And I mean guitar tabs as in a real guitar not an in-game one.

    Melody Assistant can convert a midi into tabs or translate tabs into ABC also.

    If you can get the Midis of these, I am sure I or one of the other folks with Melody Assistant here could help you translate them into tab.

    I wish I was skilled enough to write music on the fly like that hehe.

    I've got the basic melody from Autumn Ale... I just sat down with my DADGAD tuned acoustic and tried to pick out the notes, however, so it may be wrong!

    The rest of it is mainly chords, this is the meat of the song. Since the only two strings I used were the D and G strings, it should be equally playable in standard tuning -- however, my chords are based on DADGAD.

    (also note that I've never written out a tab before, so hopefully this is readable.)

    When I play the following background chords, it's not entirely correct, however it does sound good:
    In DADGAD tuning, hold the 2nd fret on the G-string and strum the top 4 strings in your preferred rhythm. when you hit the 5th and 6th measures in the tab above, switch to the 5th fret on the G-string, and then back to the 2nd fret once the 7th measure comes around.
    You'll probably have to play with it -- I'm no music teacher, and I hope you just get enough out of this to start working on it. There are quite a few flourishes on the notes that I'm not good enough to play....

    I want to say thanks for you taking the time to post these too.

    I really like the stringed instrument tunes, especially the ones posted here and the ones found in the Aughaire area like "Home from the hunt." Glad to see them being tabbed and posted. They sound great on my flamenco guitar.
    It's just a game. Relax and have a smoke of shire green leaf.

    You should do some recording and post them!

    I wish I had a nice guitar...I play percussion and bass, primarily, so it's never been a focus for my limited funds. Although the multi-decade old acoustic that used to belong to my grandfather has it's own special-sounding charm. Something about it's age makes it sound a lot better than a new guitar playing these particular songs.

    I also have an heirloom guitar from my grandfather.
    My Flamenco guitar sounds neat, but he bought the old Yamaha in 1964 and played it for decades.
    When you do that, the wood relaxes and the sound mellows. All my friends call it "butter" when they hear me play it.

    Old played in guitar beats new fancy pants guitar any day o the week.

    would anybody be able to translate the song that Glynn Harper plays by the fire in the Forsaken Inn? I can't find a song title in the lotro soundtrack, so I'm not really certain what it's called. I just know that I like it, and I'd like to learn to play it...

    I don't think this song is in the soundtrack release, its one of the new ones that got added to the NPC minstrels with Mirkwood. It was tricky because Gynn's lute isn't in concert pitch (must be the forsaken ale).

    I had a listen to Home from the Hunt, but I dont think it was played on guitar. The low notes heard around 1:30 are way lower than anything you can play on a guitar (even with dropped tunings). My guess is its some kind of theorbo or lute. Sorry!

    But if you would like to know how to play stuff that sounds *like* Home from the Hunt, it is not that hard. This song sounds like it was improvised, and you can similarly improvise stuff if you know a little about modes.

    In this case, the tune is in D dorian mode. All you have to do is play a D drone note on the low string, and add some random noodling on the dorian scale using the upper strings. I came up with the following, which should give you an idea. Another thing you might want to investigate is "modal tunings". DADGAD seems to be the most common, but I am using DGDGAD which is similar.

    Tabs coming

    Hello Folks!

    I have come late to this thread. I have been covering LOTRO songs for a while now. (I make my own dark ages music which is similar to a lot of the Inn and Cabin songs in LOTRO). My problem has been time to write the tabs out. A lot of the online programs take a LOT of time. I will post a few links to some of the covers I started to upload. I also am in another country right now and only have a cruddy cheap guitar and camera to record on so I have not uploaded full songs. But I will start posting tabs here this week. Stay tuned!
