Deep within the Flaming Deeps lies the terrible fortress
of Ghâsh-lug, its Dwarven name lost to memory. This fortress is ruled by a
terrible Orc who escaped the fall of Mordirith in Angmar and
took refuge in the halls of Moria. Now he prepares to avenge
the death of Mazog and strike a blow against the Dwarves...
Raid size: 12
Radiance required: 0
Level: 65
Bosses: 9
How to enter: The entrance to Ghâsh-lug would be located in the southernmost reaches of the Flaming Deeps. To ensure no one below level 65 unintentionally wanders in, the door has a level requirement of 65.
The instance of Ghâsh-lug sends the player back to Moria to strike the final blow against the Orcs of Moria and shatter their hold for good. But the Orcs are not the only creatures within the fortress. Cave claws, Grims, and a small number of Gertheryg adapted for the flame are residing in the cavern...
Mobs
Ranged:
Ghâsh-hai Burning-arrow (level ??, elite-master, Uruk, 42,384 morale)
Ghâsh-hai Troll-heaver (level ??, nemesis, Troll, 104,532 morale)
Fragment of Flame (level ??, elite-master, Grim, 39,394 morale)
Mighty Fragment of Rimduath (level ??, nemesis, Grim, 90,349 morale)
Staunch Fragment of Rimduath (level ??, elite-master, Grim, 32,945 morale)
Strong Fragment of Rimduath (level ??, elite, Grim, 20,395 morale)
Angmar Fire Grim (level ??, signature, Grim, 8,378 morale)
Pulpûm Assassin (level ??, elite, Orc, 20,845 morale)
Krahjarn Poisoner (level ??, elite-master, Orc-defiler, 43,458 morale)
Krahjarn Spear-flinger (level ??, signature, Goblin, 9,459 morale)
Gazanuz, Champion of the Pulpûm (level ??, arch-nemesis, Uruk, 639,493 morale)
Gazanuz is found in a large Arena with Orcs and Uruks crowding the outside, waiting for a duel or battle to start. Gazanuz will “welcome” you to Ghâsh-lug before entering the arena to fight.
Gazanuz will allow only one person into the arena, while the rest must move around the edges and take out the adds.
The person fighting Gazanuz will gain a buff called "Champion's Mark", which boosts all outgoing damage by 300%
Healers can heal the tank on Gazanuz, but the walls are so high the tank must be almost directly below the healer.
The arena also has lava streams in some places which will deal about 100 damage every second until you leave.
Gazanuz will also add corruptions to himself that will countdown from 25 seconds. He severely wounds the tank on expiration unless they are removed.
Ulruk, Guardian of the Cross-roads (level ??, arch-nemesis, Uruk, 600,586 morale)
Ulruk is similar in pulling to the trolls in Dâr Narbugud, he paths by several pulls at each of the four cross-road entrances. When the adds are defeated, he may be pulled.
He is a dangerous foe, he will add a +10% melee damage buff every 15 seconds, stacking it to 5. However, all of the buffs are removed when a successful fellowship is performed on him.
Once he reaches 25% morale, he will go berserk and his buff will increase to +45%... But only if it’s a new buff.
After he is slain you may choose one of three crossroads. Left is Gertheryg, right is Cave-claws, and lower center is grims.
We’ll take the left pass first, which leads to…
Durfkâl is a massive Gorthorog, easily the size of Storvâgûn, who stands in the center of a large cavern which has only one defining feature: A large hole in the floor.
He will begin with a short drama sequence where he defeats a Dwarven warrior who, somehow, found his way into the cave.
After the sequence is completed, Durfkâl will attack you.
All of his attacks are frontal AOEs. You might think this means the raid should stand behind him. This is not possible. He stands in one spot, with a small amount of ground behind him which gives way to the hole.
Every so often he will bellow "Get away from me, insects!" and perform a 360-degree knockback that sends you flying... into the hole, if you're behind him.
He also hits hard, easily able to crit for 2k on light armour.
Down the right passage leads to a cavern full of cave-claws, which leads to...
Dark-jaw the Digger (level ??, arch-nemesis, Deep-claw, 658,493 morale)
Dark-jaw is a large Deep-claw, larger than even Riptalon. He will apply damage over times with most hits, similar to the final boss of Warg-pens.
He will also occasionally burrow underground, summoning about 7-8 cave and deep claws which must be slain to return Dark-jaw to the surface.
Every two minutes, the message "Dark-jaw roars in anger. It is attempting to bring the cavern down on top of you!" will appear on your screen.
This is an indicator to run away from him, as boulders will begin to crash down from above, dealing about 3,000 damage per hit before mitigations.
When his health is at 10% he will gain a +200% damage buff and enrage.
Now that he's dead, let's move into the third wing... A fiery pit, filled with grims and Ghâsh-hai.
2 bosses make this their home...
Bolthrug the Cruel (level ??, arch-nemesis, Uruk, 682,848 morale)
Bolthrug spends the entire fight on a platform across a large rift in the ground and must be brought down via ranged damage.
However, there will also be several waves of grims and Orcs coming at you in an attempt to stop you from slaying the Uruk.
Bolthrug himself fires occasional rains of arrows against the raid.
The second boss...
Rimduath the Ancient (level ??, arch-nemesis, Grim, 699,999 morale)
Rimduath seems simple enough, having mainly standard fire-grim arsenal as you DPS him down... But it's when he loses all his morale that makes him unique.
When you burn through his 699,999 morale he will split into two nemesis mobs, Mighty Fragments of Rimduath.
If your raid takes more than 3 minutes to DPS through these, they will re-fuse into Rimduath.
This process will it's repeat until you have defeated 1 arch-nemesis, 2 nemesii, 4 elite-masters, and 8 elites once and for all...
With the three wings defeated, the gears of the upper-center door will grind... The masters of this fortress are not happy with your intrusion...
Graukâl, Master of the Pulpûm (level ??, arch-nemesis, Orc, 705,394 morale)
Graukâl is the leader of the Pulpûm, former guards of Mazog. As such, he is a dangerous foe.
Graukâl will attempt to sap your power or slow your regen with a multitude of diseases.
When he hits 50%, he will start calling forth adds who will attempt to aid their master.
Kamtash will engage with a team of 6 Krahjarn poisoners who will constantly heal him if he is attacked. They are easy enough to kill, but at least one must be left alive or a new wave will spawn.
Aside from this he will also cause fire-patches to pop-up, like a goblin sapper, though these are far more deadly...
With the forces of evil destroyed in the compound, the final door opens...
Thrûgath, Lord of the Khrahjarn (level ??, arch-nemesis, Orc Reaver, 1,750,000 morale)
Thrûgath is the master of the Krahjarn, and perhaps the most powerful Orc in Middle-Earth.
When you enter you will come out on to a narrow platform that opens on to a fairly wide circular stone platform and another narrow path at the other end.
The other defining feature is that lava continuously flows down the walls.
When you first enter, you will receive the debuff Burning Air, a DOT that will hit you for roughly 300 damage every 7 seconds.
After Thrûgath does a brief drama sequence, he will step forward and fight you.
His most defining characteristic is that he will quite often perform a 360-degree knockback, requiring that he be tanked in the center of the platform.
He also deals large amounts of damage, a dev crit being able to hit the tank for 5k.
Another skill of his is the ability to call forth Orc and Uruk warriors to him, multiple at a time.
The fight progresses normally until 1,250,000, at which point he will enter phase two.
In this phase he will summon 4 Krahjarn Poisoners to heal him, but he will also act like the Brutes of Sammath Gûl and take their damage as his own, while at the same time becoming invincible to your damage.
When he reaches 800,000, he will kill the poisoners and begin phase three.
At this point, two Gertheryg will come forth.
These Gertheryg will be buffed by Thrûgath for +200% damage and +25% run speed. They must be taken down.
Also during this phase, the Orc-lord will gain a new skill which allows him to instantly slay any who are facing him when the skill goes off.
If you take too long to defeat the Gertheryg, their buff will increase to +300% and +50%.
Once these are defeated and Thrûgath reaches 500,000 morale, the fourth phase will start.
This phase is marked by grims who will explode if not killed within 30 seconds of their appearance.
As you deal with these and fight Thrûgath, he will eventually reach 200,000, at which point any adds and grims who remain alive will be instantly slain.
This is the beginning of the fifth and final phase.
For this phase, Thrûgath will gain a +175% damage buff and +50% attack speed buff, called Wrath of the Krahjarn.
Once Thrûgath reaches 17,500, he will immediately full heal... but he will not attack...
Instead, he will launch into another drama sequence and leave behind his chest of rewards for you to loot as he walks out of the Flaming Deeps...
And thus falls Ghâsh-lug...
Layout:
The fortress would begin with a simple pair of cave-like rooms that are filled with Orcs and Uruks.
After these rooms would be the Grand Arena, large arena that is mostly intact and features two large columns, home to Gazanuz.
His arena would lead into a series of three rooms that are far more splendid than the first three, though the stonework is chipped and scarred by the Orcs.
These would lead into the crossroads: One path going upwards to the left, one downwards to the right, and two in the center, one on top of the other.
The left and right would be similar, a small tunnel leading to each boss.
The bottom-center would lead to a series of bridges, ending on a large iron platform.
The upper-center would lead into a series of 4 square rooms, two with trash pulls and two with bosses.
The end would be led to by a thin and long room that leads to the circular Cavern of Fire described in the Thrûgath encounter.
Fin... for now...

Gazanuz:
"Welcome to Ghâsh-lug, curs."
"Your intrusion here... displeases... my master."
"Come and fight me! But only one of you in the arena!"
"And if you want, your healers can heal you."
"Maybe then it shall be a fair fight!"
"So it shall be you then, <playername>?"
"My allies, crush the rest!"
"You're a tough maggot, <playername>!"
"Feeling the strain of combat yet?"
"Your blood sates the appetite of my blades!"
"My allies are weaklings!"
"I cannot lose, I-"
Ulruk:
"Intruders! You shall not trespass on the grounds of this Fortress! The passages are closed to you!"
"The Deep-claws, Grims, and Gertheryg shall be united and the Dwarves shall be cast down and broken!"
"Now die!"
"My power grows!"
"Enough games! My fury is upon you fools!"
"Weakling!"
"Even with my death, you cannot defeat the might of the forces here! The Dwarves are doomed anyways!"
Durfkâl:
Iron Garrison Champion: "You will fall, Gorthorog! Barûk-Khâzad!
Durfkâl: "Dwarven insect!"
Iron Garrison Champion: "No!"
Durfkâl: "Soon your race shall fall and then-"
Durfkâl: "More fools challenge Durfkâl? You are persistent insects."
Durfkâl: "My Gertheryg were weak if you have found your way to me."
Durfkâl: "But I am not so easily defeated!"
Durfkâl: "The might of Durfkâl is uncontested among the trolls of the north! Even among the Olog-hai I am feared!"
Durfkâl: "And you. You are nothing but gnats, biting at the skin of a mighty beast that will crush you like the insects you are!"
Durfkâl: "Die!"
Durfkâl: "Get away from me, insects!"
Durfkâl: "None shall move me from this place!"
Durfkâl: "Another scrap of food for my Gertheryg!"
Durfkâl lets out a cry as he falls into the pit!
Dark-jaw:
Dark-jaw stretches and roars as you approach!
Dark-jaw burrows into the floor, calling its allies.
Dark-jaw roars in anger. It is attempting to bring the cavern down on top of you!
Dark-jaw roars as he becomes enraged!
Dark-jaw lets out a cry of victory as you fall.
Dark-jaw lets out a cry of victory as your ally falls.
Dark-jaw lets out a yelp as he falls and lies motionless.
Bolthrug:
"Stop, maggots, you go no further!"
"The Great Flame will rise! All will burn!"
"Cut the bridges; don't let them get to me!"
"We must protect the Flame!"
"Face my Orcs, maggots!"
"Grims, crush them!"
"My arrows will pierce you!"
"Your attempts against me are ended."
"No! The flame will go uncontrolled... You FOOLS! You've doomed us all! Nothing will survive the awakening of the Great Flame!"
"May you all burn for your foolishness... *cough* I just wish I could *cough* be around to see it... M-maggots... *death rattle*"
Rimduath:
The fire of the room comes alive as the ancient Grim, Rimduath, awakens!
Rimduath divides as it is defeated!
The fragments of the Grim are trying to join together! Stop them!
Rimduath is extinguished, a drake roar being heard as he falls.
Graukâl:
"You fools! You have ruined everything!"
"We cannot attack the Dwarves now!"
"The Pulpûm... we crave revenge! Nothing shall stand in our way! The Dwarves will pay DEARLY for Mazog's death!"
"But even still... I can still slay YOU."
"My master has commanded me to end you fools! FALL!"
"Feeling sick, <playername>?"
"Your strength is mine now!"
"The maggots have actually hurt me! Come forth my warriors!"
"The Pulpûm will destroy all!"
"How...?"
Kamtash:
"You will not reach our master..."
"You recognize the banners? I thought you would..."
"Not all Krahjarn Orcs fell with Mordirith. Many survived..."
"They fled here. And now, among these flames, they have found refuge and a place to grow strong again..."
"And yet, you still seek the motivations of my kind, don't you?"
"We came here long ago to press these foolish little Moria rats into the service of the Eye. We instead found a being stronger than we had expected..."
"Durin's Bane."
"Now that that creature of shadow and flame is slain, I have determined to complete the mission..."
"Enough talk, burn!"
"Heal me, my allies!"
"Burn!"
"More poisoners!"
"The fire consumes you!"
"You cannot... stop... him..."
Thrûgath:
"Welcome, maggots."
"You feel the heat, as do I. Don't try to act tough, I won't see it as weakness. Not here."
"This is the heart of the mountain. One of the greatest forges ever made is here. Who knows what has been forged in this fire?"
"This place is ancient... perhaps as ancient as the mountain itself..."
"But this is not the time for pondering ancient mysteries!"
"You seek to stop me, correct?"
"I thought so... you have already done enough that we cannot succeed in our aim of destroying the Dwarves... Yet..."
"But perhaps there will be some fun in killing all of you... Vengeance for Angmar comes before vengeance for the son of Bolg."
"For Angmar! For the Krahjarn!"
"Orcs, Uruks, aid me! There is sport to be had!"
"Back away from me!"
"Come, poisoners! I will protect you!"
"Wretched healers!"
"Gertheryg come, I will lend you strength!"
"You cursed tarks! Those I face will fall to the fury of Angmar!"
"Grims, destroy them!"
"Useless snaga!"
"For the Krahjarn!"
"The Krahjarn fell another!"
"Fools!"
"You cannot stop me!"
"I am too powerful to be slain by you..."
"But you were able to survive... Therefore you are rewarded."
"Inside there are numerous things I found here..."
"Before I depart, hear the prophecy spoken of me years ago..."
"It was said of me, 'Not by any weapon will he fall, but he shall die a mortal death...'"
"'...Indeed, the Doom of Men shall be his as well...'"
"Now, maggots, I depart..."
"And I assure you, our paths WILL cross again!"

Another well thought out raid suggestion, Sylux14! Having the last boss actually survive and leave the area alive is certainly a unique twist. "To be continued..."?

That's great, a lot of time was put into it, but Turbine doesn't ever use or pay any attention to user-created suggestions like that. Your best bet is to apply to the Isengard Preview thing to be one of the real secret beta testers. Until that happens, nobody with any authority to do anything about your idea is going to pay any attention to it.
As a level 1 burglar, Bilbo got a pony from the Smaug The Dragon raid. Then he rolled on a 1st age Arkenstone for an alt. Tevye Topol
