I Submit To You The Following Suggestion For Your Consideration:

Vampire Hobbits

"These hobbits have been transformed into dark servants of Sauron. They prowl the nights, lurking in alleys and cemetaries. Unsuspecting travelers have returned with horrific tales describing these creatures latching hold of the ankles of their victims and draining them dry. Villages plagued by these creatures flinch and look to shadows when they hear the words... Second Breakfast"

Bonus to Might/Agi/Vitality during Night Cycle
Penalties to Might/Agi/Vitality during Day Cycle

Special Skills:

Drain Blood -- Morale drain replaces Hobbit Feign Death. Effect can be similiar to conjunction heal. (fun idea, groups of them using a vampiric drain heal)

I have to ask, in what way is this race not excluded by the trilogy?

Is it in the sense that Tolkien simply said nothing about them?

If so, then what if Turbine were to have a strange alien race of blue, russian accented, creatures with squids on their heads crash their spaceship. They could be really good at magic, and have only the best racial traits from all existing races...oh wait, I think someone already thought of that one!

Actually, the only thing seriously broken is your sarcasm detection meter. After all, Landroval only had vampire elves.

New to the boards, saw this, and started laughing, because I make jokes about vampiric hobbits all the time IRL.

There is an ice cream place near my house that does blood drives and it advertises on it's sign "Pint for Pint." That always makes me think about scene from the FotR movie:

Pippin: What's that?
Merry: This, my friend, is a pint.
Pippin: It comes in pints?
