Tell The Community Team - 1/28/2010
How it works:
From time to time we'll be asking you questions, and here in our thread, you tell us: What comes to mind; what you think; how you feel; etc, as it relates to the question(s) at hand.
Ground Rules:
Because we want this to be a place where we can gather valuable feedback from our community we're going to be a little tougher on the rules enforcement here. Please read both the Ground Rules and the Forum Guidelines posts before you do anything else. These will be strictly enforced.
Question 1: If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
Question 2: If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
Question 3: We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask? Remember, tell the community team questions are questions we ask the community to gather feedback about the game. Not questions you’d ask the Dev Team.
Rick Heaton, Community Manager, The Lord of the Rings Online.
Question 1: If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
A:
1. Have a wallet for all those skirmish marks. There's just too many of them and they take alot of bag space.
2. More cosmetic rewards, like adding cosmetic equivalents to the old Rift/Helegrod/Annuminas sets.
3. Make bosses from 3/6/12 man skirmishes drop some kind of unique or significant rewards, afterall they are challenging skirmishes. Make it drop the Symbol of Celebrimbor because my eyes bleed from running SG over and over again. Or make the Symbol skirmish barterable, even it is an absurd amount of marks... around 3k or so.
Question 2: If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
A: Annuminas. That place is amazing and its so empty right now... what a waste.
Question 3: We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask?
A: Are you happy with the LI System? Do you think that the LI system could learn from the skirmish soldier system?
Razor // Lusitanius // Crickhollow ~ Portuguese Kinship
Galahriel - Napalm Shooter / Razortip - Forsaken Hunter / Stormrune - Rune Healer Staff Strike! - A Lore-Master class guide and blog (on hiatus).
Question 1: If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
1. Bump up the rewards for Tier II and way up for Tier III
2. Rework barter costs for some items [e.g. Scroll of Empowerment]
3. Add a "finder" tool to find other people to run a group skirmish with.
Question 2: If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
- Forochel
Question 3: We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask? Remember, tell the community team questions are questions we ask the community to gather feedback about the game. Not questions you’d ask the Dev Team.
- Do you feel PvMP warrants a dedicated patch?
Question 1:
If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
1. More NPCs,
2. A better balance between classes. For the Siege in Mirkwood, On Tier 1 I can fire a ballista, then raging blades once and everything dies. For a Mini, it's a much different fight.
3. Better rewards for larger groups and or higher tiers. Question 2:
If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
1. GF battles.
2. Lorien Skirmishes
3. Annuminas.
4. Maybe something 4th age. Question 3:
We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask? Remember, tell the community team questions are questions we ask the community to gather feedback about the game. Not questions you’d ask the Dev Team.
1.Do you feel that the Legendary Item system in its current form:
a. Excites you.
b. Causes you disappointment.
c. Is not important to you.
Do you feel that Legendary weapons should be deconstructed when new ones become available? What would make the LI system closer to Sting.
2. Do you feel that the questing and leveling time compared to end game is:
a. Too short
b. Too long
c. Just right.
How long do you think that it should take to level to the level cap from the previous cap.
3. Do you feel that Turbine GMs are:
a. Effective and helpful.
b. Ineffective but helpful and polite.
c. Ineffective and unhelpful.
What can be done to improve Turbine's Gm system?
4. Turbine is focusing on a streamlined zone layout packing dense content into medium sized areas.
Do you feel that:
a. It is an effective way to build areas.
b. It feel too small and rushed.

1. This is difficult to answer, as I really, really like the skirmish system, but he's what I came up with.
a) Randomisation of counter-attacks. No more of this "Alright, I know this flag will trigger a counter attack and the next one never will." Shake things up a bit for us, give us that little exciting edge of unpredictability.
b) Give the bannerguard a little boost. It's nice that he's designed as a jack-of-all-trades but unfortunately diluting his effectiveness means he's not even competent at anything, especially compared to a protector or a herbalist.
c) I can understand why cashable loot in the skirmishes is a no-no, but can we please have our class pages drop in them? The monsters are largely humanoid and well within the level requirement.
2. Somewhere in Moria. I mean, Volume 2 Book 5 would be perfect for the skirmish treatment (hint, hint). We have a massive war going on between the Iron Garrison and the goblins and orcs of Moria, let alone the conflict between Mordor/Moria/White Hand orcs, so why not let us feel like that is so. Right now all we see is Dwarves in their areas, orcs in their areas. We never see the orcs attacking the Dwarf holds on the landscape (those orcs and warg-riders near the Chamber of the Crossroads are blissfully ignored by the rows of Dwarf guards) so let's have something to give the illusion of ongoing struggle between Dwarf and goblin. Moria skirmishes would go a long way towards that.
3. Ask us about how we feel regarding how legendary items or radiance compare with the skirmish system in terms of fun, sense of progression, and grind factor. I'm sure you'll get several essays on the subject from numerous players ranging from the casuals and socials to the raiders and the number-crunchers.
Preferring the race of Men is like preferring vanilla ice cream: it means you're boring.
Question 1: 1. A "Duo" mode.
2. Consolidate SM types - we need bagspace!.
3. Get soldier pathing to mimic pet pathing, as pets seem more 'intelligent' for the time being.
Question 2: Annuminas
Question 3: We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask? What would you like to see done first with housing? With PvMP? Fishing? Kinships? SoA instances? Revamps?

What alec said.
Like I told you... What I said...Steal your face right off your head.
Question 1: If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
1. add more soldier controls or make the cooldown on the 'attack' timer 5-10s only.
2. make all encounters flash a message on screen. I'm mainly thinking of Gondamon here - the flag encounters activate and you have no warning that your defender is fighting an encounter mob until you see a message pop up that the mob has been killed and you can get the flag ...but since you didn't attack said mob, the body disappears and the encounter is wasted.
3. improve pathing
Question 2: If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
Angmar would be my first choice, North Downs 2nd and Forochel 3rd
Question 3: We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask? Remember, tell the community team questions are questions we ask the community to gather feedback about the game. Not questions you’d ask the Dev Team.
If you could change one thing about current gameplay, what would it be and why?
"O Elvenking! … Merry be the Greenwood, while the world is yet young and merry be all your folk!"
Question 1:
If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
1- Drop some loot in there. A little coin and vendor trash to sell for repairs.
2- Add more of them
3- I'm a big fan of more cosmetic and housing items, add more of them
Question 2:
If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
First, I woulld do something in the Old Forest! Then add some that involve Moria, Forochel, Evendim, Thorins Hall, Locations in CD, URU and the Rift.
Question 3:
We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask?
When are you going to look at redoing housing????!!!!?!?!??

1.
-Rewards need to be restructured. If we spend as much time as we do in these skirmishes, we need to be rewarded for them. Something besides IA perks. Though to be fair, it is the best way to level a IA well done.
-Duo Skirmishes
-Anything larger then a solo instance needs to have much higher skirmish rewards.
2.
-Rift
-Annumanus
-Carn Dum (The city not the instance)
Question 1:
If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
1. Duo skirmishes
2. make a seperate bag just for skirmish rewards
3. have no repair bill at all for skirmishes
Question 2:
If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
Annuminas, Rift, CD, Uru, Aughaire, Forochel, Ost Forod, and Mirobel
Question 3:
We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask? Remember, tell the community team questions are questions we ask the community to gather feedback about the game. Not questions you’d ask the Dev Team.
What changes, if any, would you make to the PvMP aspect of the game
Question 1:
If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
1 . Progress save feature mid skirmish or save points throughout the skirmish. This woudl be great for those times when your mid skirmish and allof a sudden you raid or group you ahve be waiting for starts. This leaves you with 1 option drop the skirmish and loose your prgress
2.Introduce PVMP Skirmishes, this is an excellent solution to the issue sin the moors, how cool would it be to runa Skirmish in the moors
3. More meaningful rewards, special loot Items, barter for SYmbol of cel
Question 2:
If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
I am mainly a PVE player, but how cool woudl it be to have th eoption to skirmish some of those OP CReeps
Question 3:
We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask
If you could build new class, what focus would it be and what would it bring to the game?
Q1: (1) Soldier pathing and behavior (standing next to the fight w/o joining in) needs to be greatly improved. (2) Skirmish mark/medalllion consolidation for our bags or someother system to minimize the bagspace they take up. (3) It would be nice if mobs dropped loot but I understand if it is a balance issue.
#1: I would increase the amount of loot & money in the skirmishes. (A lot of people I have spoken with feel that skirmishes are not worth their time and repairs.) I would increase the frequency of the optional deed bosses by just a smidge. I would make a 2-man skirmish (or allow for further customization of fellowship numbers) available.
#2: Fields of Fornost, Othrikar or Bail Rova
#3: Do you think that possible new skirmishes should be longer or shorter?
Question 1: If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
Question 2: If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
Question 3: We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask? Remember, tell the community team questions are questions we ask the community to gather feedback about the game. Not questions you’d ask the Dev Team.
1. a) Duo skirmish. I think having 1, 2, 3, 6 and 12 would be sufficient.
b) Better scaling rewards for 3, 6 and 12 man skirmishes.
c) Lower the cooldown on the soldier attack skill.
2. Barad Guleran. Did I spell that right?
3. How about: What 3 changes would you make to the Legendary Item system?
Question 1: If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
1. Like others have said make either a Skirmish Mark pouch or another method of consolidating bag space
2. Expand encounters to include friendly NPCs ( like an escort type encounter)
3. Make the reward for 30-50 skirmishes more attainable for those in thee level range
Question 2: If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
Moria as a whole followed closely with anniminas. To expand on what prev posters have siad I think it would be fun to have say a skimish that was set establishing the beach head in dolven view or a skirmish where we actually get to interact and see the White hand orcs attacking or being attacked by the moria orcs ( you know those orc watch / flaming depths quest chains)
Question 3: We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask?
what was the reason for shrinking moria to its current size? Will we see any more Moria expansion ( housing) instance using those doors off of durin's way etc?
"we need to get our scientists working on a way to harness nerd-rage as a renewable energy source." -ctrlaltdel guy
Question 1: If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
1. Increase fellowship rewards.
2. NO repair bill for dying in Barrow Downs Survival. (Also if you retreat after you're ported out of the skirmish, no dread.
3. Allow us to give soldiers general modes and priorities. For example, telling a Herbalist to focus on morale or power, and giving a healing priority (heal the escort first, then the tank, then me) For Protectors, tell it to grab aggro off of the healer before anyone else. These modes you would set before the fight.
Question 2: If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
Goblin Town. You start at the camp in the High Pass and fight your way taking control points all the way to The Mountain's Throat. Once there you face a massive counterattack and it ends the same way as Barrow Downs Survival.
Not a player of LOTRO, an inhabitant of Middle-earth. Who hates the new forum software.
Question 1: If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
1. Better AI, pathing
2. Ability to tell them to "stay".
3. Have them attack targets I am attacking and not stand there half the time doing nothing. What's the sense in having a soldier if the soldier doesn't do much of anything?
Question 2: If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
I would say Dol Dinen, Nan Wathren and/or the drake area in the North Downs because the level 30-40 skirmishes are based on level 1-20 areas (Shire, Gondoman) and are boringly easy. However, that being said, I think skirmishes need to be fixed first (see question 1) before more are added.
Question 3: We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask?
1. Do you want to see more content updates but with less features, or more features but with fewer content updates?
2. Would you rather have really good, well thought out instances (on the level of Helegrod or the Rift) every second or third content update or instances in every content update?
1.) a.) Better soldier pathing (or ability to summon soldier to your side IN COMBAT)
......b.) 5 second CD on Soldier attack command/and no CD on resummoning soldier to your side
......c.) very small chance for Tier 2 & 3 Full Fellowship or Raid skirmishes to drop the Symbol of Celebrimbor
2.)Goblin Town! (awesome place), (second place is inside any of the Annuminas dungeon instances)
3.) What is the single most important change you want made to the LI system.
"And it is said by the Eldar that in water there lives yet the echo of the music of the Ainur more than in any substance else that is in this earth; and many of the children of Illuvatar hearken still unsated to the voices of the Sea, and yet know not for what they listen"
Question 1:
If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
Add PvMP skirmishes!!!
New and better skirmishes
New items to barter for with marks
Question 2:
If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
A PvMP version of all the existing skirmishes
Question 3:
We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask?
What do you plan to do with PvMP?
Any plans for a PvMP skirmish?
When is Book 10 coming out?
Question 1:
If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
-Add the buff flags as rare / uncommon drop from Lieutenants, they'd be a big help against the encounter mobs.
-Give a brief immunity to engaging in combat after reviving, so that I can call my soldier, chain wiping in Gondomon at the end is no fun.
-Revisit the scaling in difficulty betweeen 38-42 it jumps drastically and anything under 40 is pretty easy.
Question 2:
If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
-Evendim - The Guardain Camp or the giant camp.
Question 3:
How do utuilzie the Auction house.
What would you do to the AH to make it more useful over the lower levels, or appealing to users to put items up.
How do you obtain lower level recipe drops, and how would you improve it to remain meaningful, but not depend totally on luck.
#1 - You got it right the first time. Don't mess with success. Well... ok, some way to store Marks without impacting bag/vault space would be nice.
#2 - Trestlebridge. The skirmish would begin in the middle of the battle. Orcs from Nan Wathren have taken the bridge and are sacking the town. Players would have to first stem the tide while preventing orcs from burning buildings, a'la Prancing Pony, and defending non-combatant townsfolk like old Kemp and Elsie Woodruff. Then players must mount a counter-offensive to drive the invaders back across the bridge. NPCs from the quest arcs will help at various times - Nellie Boskins, Captain Trotter, etc. The Boss fight would occur on the north side of the ravine, where the orcs have set up an artillery park of catapults and are preparing to launch black-powder bombs at the town. Players will have to destroy the catapults while fighting the Boss - a half-orc mercenary siege engineer like the ones from the Black Powder/Half-orc Schemer quest line.
Question 1:
If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
1. Unlocking more skirmishes based on if you have completed the deed in that area for completing quests (3 teirs for completing quests - after completing all teirs, you unlock a new skirmish in that zone!)
2. More mobs in skirmishes that help you get slayer deeds completed! This will cut down on having to grind grey mobs in past zones you have alreay been to -
3. More defending skirmishes! I like those more than the proactive ones
Question 2:
If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
Any area that would help you get deeds done w/out any toon having to go back to that area and killed greyed out mobs for say... valor deeds - Just makes sense to add a misty mountain zone that had loads of wargs coming at you or worms so you can get those deeds completed!
Question 3:
We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask?
Are skirmishes going to be a permanent part or a majority part of future books? IE: are future books going to be heavily based on skirmishes? I think that would be great if so!! I am sorry if this has already been confirmed or denied!
1) Rare weapon/armor drops, instead of just marks. Something really useful/desireable.
2) XP no matter what size the group is. There is little or no reason to do 12 man raids. Extra marks?? .. pfffffft not many really.
3) Skirmishes in all areas, Annunimas, Forochel, etc..
4) Soldier control like they have in guild wars with hero/henchies. There you can control the skills, outfit them etc.. As is they are really just captains heralds with different skill sets. (Guess we know how ya added them in game huh lol)
Question 1:
If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
1. Make another tab in our Skirmish Stats Panel to list skirmish marks acquired. Our gold, silver and copper coins don't use bag space, skirmish marks shouldn't either.
2. Allow for a team of 2
Question 2:
If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
Annuminas, Carn Dum/Angmar, Forochel
I have noticed a lack of SPIDERS!!! I can't believe not one skirmish involves spiders, they're essential!!
edit: I've only done Dannenglor a few times. Finally got the spider encounter. what? this is it? lol
Question 3:
We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask?
Which obstacle most determines what you do when you log in? Difficulty, Group Size Needed, Reward, Time Required

Question 1: If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
Answer for question (1)
(A) Give an option to have a 2 man dou on all skirish
(B) Make loot drop
(C) Increase the cash at the end boss to make up for repairs
Question 2: If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
Anser for question (2)
Forchell, as I like that zone the best
Question 3: We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask? Remember, tell the community team questions are questions we ask the community to gather feedback about the game. Not questions you’d ask the Dev Team.
Answer for question (3)
Give us ideas on how we can fix the broken LI system, so that it can put the fun back into your game.
1)
a - Option for duo's (my wife and I would love this......)
b - Wallet for all the skirmish tokens and marks
c - Better interface for seeing/buying skirmish rewards.
Question 1:
If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
First off, while I appreciate that you put various different lieutenants in, etc, the way to beat *every single lieutenant* is exactly the same! Namely: Burn them down fast!
And unfortunately, the lieutenants and optional encounters (which, by the way, we're all uncomfortably familiar with at this point) are the only things that really change from run to run. Since the lieutenants and optional encounters all boil down to the same thing, it becomes insanely boring.
How about a system where the run itself changes. Put in different requirements at each stage of the game. If I'm going through Bree trying to reach the final bad guy, maybe this gate is open one time and a different gate is open the next. Maybe this time I have to take over a control point, but the next time I come into an area and have to rescue someone being attacked (and do so quickly!), or perhaps I have to quickly prepare a defense against an absolute horde of orcs rushing to attack the auction house, and I have to gather up the supplies to do so, or whatever.
Bottom line: don't make it simply a mob grind at *every possible turn*.
Question 2:
If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
My favorite places are Forochel and the Misty Mountains. Could be that Suri-Kyla is getting attacked by forces from Angmar.
Question 3:
We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask? Remember, tell the community team questions are questions we ask the community to gather feedback about the game. Not questions you’d ask the Dev Team.
If you could add additional quests to any area, what area and why?
Question 1:
If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
Skirmish marks purse (then I wouldn't mind having so many different types, but if there is no way to hold them outside of my bags get rid of the extra marks), better incentives for higher difficulty tiers, better soldier control (passive/aggressive states)
Question 2:
If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
I know it's part of the Book 3 announcement, but I can never get enough of the Rift! Or Annuminas (or Goblin Town)
Question 3:
We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask?
1. Do you craft? And if so, what changes would you like to see to the current crafting system?
2. What changes would you like to see in the kinship and fellowship panels?
3. I don't know what kind of wording would be needed for this question, but it seems clear that people are still not terribly happy with the LI system. It might be best to take a look at what can be changed or what Turbine would be willing to change and specifically frame a question around that, with limited parameters. I know we've seen LI questions before, and I'm certain that the community feedback led to adding new legacies and sorting out Pool A & B legacies. I hope that you will take another pass at the system, and will similarly seek input from the community.
Question 1:
1. Duo mode. I'd love to be able to run skirmishes with my husband without having to find someone else to join us.
2. Improve soldiers. My protector stands around not fighting anything about 50% of the time until I direct him to attack. They'd be great if they behaved better, like pets. Also, the cooldown on directing the soldier is way too long.
3. Barter for Symbols of Celebrimbor, more loot and coin from skirmishes.
Question 2:
Not sure, perhaps Moria or Lothlorien? Forochel? Angmar? There are a lot of areas that don't have a skirmish yet.
Question 3:
Are you happy with the LI system? What changes would you make? What one new legacy would you like to see for each class?

Question 1: If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be? 1) MOST IMPORTANT: Adjust skirmish difficulty. I feel that in all skirmish sizes, tier one should be something that heroes + soldiers without any healing/buff abilities at all could still do. Tier two should be something that heroes + soldier with minimal healing/buff abilities can still do. Tier three should be something that heroes / soldiers MUST have healing/buff abilities. Directly related to that, the larger the group I DO NOT think should directly translate to the tougher the single monsters. I've been in 3-man skirmishes in which tier 1 was challenging, but we worked it out and didn't wipe or even have one person die. But I get in a 6-man skirmish which is a tier 1 and we all wipe after the first couple of encounters. That's not fun, that's discouraging! That tells everybody who participated, that full fellowship and 12-man skirmishes are NOT WORTH DOING. 2) I'd make an option available where instead of fighting the standard fare of enemies for a skirmish, you could choose to fight multiple weaker foes instead (for those people who enjoy chewing through enemies left and right). Because sometimes you just want to wade in an kill stuff all over the place and not feel like because you didn't get rewarded for it (the level setting was too low) that it was just a waste of time. 3) I'd make multiple paths through a skirmish to the same location, so that you can actually have solo or 3-man skirmish difficulty for people because they're not in a group together. For example: Thievery and Mischief, make it so that if 3 people wanna do a multi-path version of it, they all start out at separate entrances to Bree and they all gotta find their way to Town Hall fighting their way through solo difficulty mobs until they get to the Town Hall in which point they all have to fight the 3-man skirmish boss.
Question 2: If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
I would like to see skirmishes set in the Far Chetwood area of northeaster Bree land. Something involving stopping the half-orcs of the Weather Hills from chopping down the trees to use for their war efforts or something like that.
Question 3: We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask?
I can think of two questions that I would like the development team to ask the player base of LotRO: 1) If you could add one new Eriador region into the game (regions such as North Downs, Shire, or Forochel) which one would you pick? 2) If you were going to put a new reputation faction in the game, which faction would you create?
Question 1:
If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
1. Reduce the different types of Skirmish Marks as they take up to much space for no reason. Its extra data space that is taken up on your servers when you could just have everything require the one Type of SM. The exception may be that you have 1 other type that drops only in group skirmishes.
2. Improve the rewards for the group versions. At the moment there is no incentive for people to run these skirmishes at group levels. Doing so for fun will last one or 2 times then people wont bother. Possibly another spot where you could have symbols drop.
3. Increase the SM that is earned from each skirmish. With the cost of things at the barterers and the absolute requirement of running these skirmishes at end game for LI's, they are not turning out to be that popcorn experience that you run while waiting for a group to form. They are the content you must run if you want to advance at end game content.
Question 2:
If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
Carn Dum

If you could change 3 things in the Legendary Item System, what would they be?
Question 1: If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
1) skirmish mark and cash rewards for fellowship and tier 2 and 3 skirmishes should be increased dramatically. When running a solo tier 2 or 3 the difficulty and time required go up significantly, but the rewards barely do. When running a small fellowship skirmish, my net SM rewards go down because of the way the extra drops work. When the special marks drop we have to roll off for them, but if I were running solo I would have collected them all myself for an extra 50 to 100 SM. Cash rewards should go up because of the increased risk of defeat and repair bills.
2) No more trash Mark drops. All the marks that drop for exchange for SM or 22 silver should just be skirmish marks or strait cash.
3) some real drops. LI's or items from the word loot tables would be nice.
Question 2: If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
Question 1:
If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
Answer 1:
1. Give more incentive to get people to do them in 6- and 12-man formats
2. More cosmetic stuff like old Rift and Helegrod sets
3. Make the Soldiers smarter, better AI
Question 2:
If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
Annuminas

What do you like about the LI system? How would you change it?

Wow this got long. I can't read it all, but one thing I would like to add if it hasn't been added already:
Skirmish queues.
It would be nice if there was a queue you could enter to do a group skirmish. Say you have 4/6 people, you can start the skirmish and then select and option to open it to any two other/random people who wanted to go. Then anyone could open a group skirmish panel to see if there are any groups they can join. They could click and automatically be added to the group. Once the group was full, you'd get a message saying "Your skirmish is about to begin" with an "okay" to join (which would transport you to the skirmish). Or, if you can't get that last person, have the leader have the option to start the skirmish anyway.
That's one of my pie in the sky ideas anyway.

Question 1: If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
1. Scale for 2 players.
2. The little buff items you find are cool, but I find that I'm too busy to use them.
When we loot them, could they be entered into a 'buff queue' of sorts? add a third skirmish button to use the buff. I'm thinking of mario kart here, where you run over the bonuses and then they go into a box and you can use it when you want. Just send notification to the chat window. when you have a buff to use , when you hover over the 'use bonus' button, it shows you what buff you presently have queued. I know this would be a lot of work, but I think it would add an extra dimension. Perhaps have a small Skirmish UI element for summoning, directing, and using buff. that will also show some basic stats about your current skirmish. I really like skirmishes and the mechanics of it though.
I'm sneaking another between here - make the soldier's floaty damage a different color than ours, I can't always tell if she's actually doing anything.
3. Trait sets - Some of us have more than one soldier. Say a Sage and a Herbalist. As it stands we've got to swap out and re-equip each trait. How about in the skirmish traits panel, you can select a tab for each soldier type. Within that tab is that soldier's traits. You may on this page select your current soldier (and pay to do so). Perhaps have one slot above the soldier tabs with the icon of your current soldier's class.
Question 2: If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
I'd like to see one in forochel, or maybe the battle instances in angmar. There's a lot of unrealized potential in imlad balchoreth. Really though, I'd love to see a lot of the old instances revamped and scaled to level. Keep the minimum fellowship size 3 or 6, 3 for CD/URU 6 for Rift, etc. To keep the time less than an hour assign each lock a Tier. In the case of the rift, the tiers are not difficulty, but instead the different bosses, you have to complete Tiers 1-5 before completing T6. Skirmish marks will give people an incentive (other than fun) to repeat the content. Question 3: We’d like to know what you would ask. If you could pick the questions for the Tell the Community Team, what would you ask?
Playing with others often includes waiting. What do you do to pass the time while waiting for the action to start?
Question 1:
If you could make 3 changes to the Skirmish System, what would they be?
1. A format for 2 man teams, not just solo and 3 or more.
2. a skirmish mark reward offering the lesser scroll of delving so casual players can improve on their lower level LI's without doing end game max level content
Question 2:
If you could add a new Skirmish to the game, what existing area or instance would you base it on?
No ideas here

Why can't we get some form of recent sales data for the Auction hall?
From time to time in some of the epic book instances it would be really helpfull if the quest tracker was in operation. (I'm thinking the quest where you are escorting Mazog through the swamps and have to get to the next contact before Mazog does with no idea where that might be)
Some of these have been said before, but here goes:
I. Suggest 3 changes to the skirmish system
1. Allow 2 person skirmishes
2. A wider variety of mechanics in the skirmishes. Rather than simply taking and holding control points, make us do different things in different skirmishes. I'm thinking here of the sorcerers in one of the Angmar Battle Instances that you have to kill when they are weakened. And make the skirmish itself more dynamic. So, for e.g., if you don't kill a particular boss in a particular amount of time, you get a larger and more difficult wave (similar to the optional encounters, but these wouldn't be optional).
3. Higher rewards for tier 2 and tier 3 skirmishes. How about a symbol of Celembrimbor dropping from a tier 3 6 person skirmish (and 2 dropping from a 12 person?). Also, scrolls of empowerment dropping from tier 3 solo skirmishes.
II. What area for a new skirmish?
1. As others have mentioned, Annuminas would be great. I like Angmar as well (which could involve simply converting the battle instances).
III.
1. What are you views on radiance gating? Should it stay or should it go? What other type of gating mechanic would you suggest?
