Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
Hi all,
I'm having trouble finishing Leaders of the Invasion (the basic one), because I can't find Siridan.
I've read that Siridan is the boss at the Gwaelband control point, but I've never actually seen Gwaelband under invader control. Every time I visit Evendim, it's always under the control of the rangers.
I've tried looking elsewhere in Annuminas, but Siridan is nowhere to be found.
Someone suggested to me that I could drag mobs to Gwaelband and let the rangers die to them, so giving the point back to the invaders (and presumably re-spawning Siridan). I've tried, but Gwaelband is a long way from any powerful mobs. Trolls won't follow me there, and the most I've managed to drag is a couple of signature Angmarim, which the rangers defeat with ease.
So what's the trick? Does Siridan even exist when the rangers have Gwaelband? If so, where is he?
Or, what does it take to make Gwaelband fall to the invaders? Is it on a timer? How long?
Thanks for your help!

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
All the Annuminas control points come under Angmar's control once per day and stay that way until the boss is killed, giving control back to the rangers. I think Annuminas resets sometime early in the morning, much like the Forochel camps.
If you keep seeing Gwaelband under the control of the Rangers, that means someone has been busy flipping that camp.

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
The named mobs for that deed are generally near by the control point if it is controlled by the rangers. If that is the first control point then he is near the bridge next to the control point.

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
Hi guys, thanks for your advice and suggestions.
Sadly, I'm still looking for Siridan. :P
I've tried logging on at different times of day, but I still can never find Gwaelband under invader control. Those wardens really know how to do their job.
I found some old patch notes that agree with cicdle's suggestion, namely: if the control points are under warden control, the bosses will spawn "on nearby landscape". I've easily found the other 2 bosses close to their Warden-controlled points. Not Siridan!
He's definitely not on the bridge east of Gwaelband. I've been checking every day. The bridge itself is deserted. Just east of the bridge are 3 fishing Angmarim and couple of Angmarim captains. Occassionally the Archivist and a priest will wander by. No Siridan.
I filed a ticket, in case there was a bug that was stopping Siridan from spawning. The GM was kind of tight-lipped, but told me that Siridan would spawn when the conditions are right for him to spawn.
Can anyone think of what those conditions are? And how to make them happen?
Thanks!

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
Gwaelband gets flipped to Warden control anytime someone completes epic quest 1.10.1. So, it can be annoying to find Siridan. According to the Lorebook, Siridan spawns in one of two spots shown here. http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Monster:Siridan

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
You need to enter Gwaelband from the water side. Head into Annuminas. You will find him fairly quickly with his guards at a campfire.
Note: It has been a while since I've been to the Gwaelband area. It is possible he has moved.
If you are up on the bridges you are in the wrong place. He is on the ground level. Should be near 17.8S, 70.1W
Unless stated otherwise, all content in this post is My Personal Opinion.

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
Some friends and I covered every square inch of the whole place over the course of two hours. Siridan is not present. Personally I don't believe the GM who said that things are working correctly and that Siridan appears under the right "conditions". I think this is someone who didn't have an answer either and is not willing to put forth the effort to investigate the situation properly. I don't mind working hard to complete a deed but I don't like wasting my time. At the worst this deed is bugged and is unlikely to get fixed at any point in the near future. If it is working as designed like so many unconcerned GMs like to say about things, then it is poorly designed at best. Personally I'm through with chasing down this particular problem. I am also much less inclined to pursue any further deeds knowing that this sort of thing may be waiting for me at the end of each of them. LOTRO has been plagued with bugs over the past year which no one wants to address. There are known issues that have lasted a year or more which keep getting posted to the "known issues" but are never corrected. Speaking as someone who has been playing this game since the beginning, I believe that the quality control has been thrown out the window. I'm sad that this is the case but it is unfortunately true.

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
I have this problem on Windfola. All last week I was looking for Siridan and he was never present. I'd check multiple times a day and Gwaelband was always under the rangers control and Siridan was never at the fire across the bridge where he's supposed to spawn when the rangers control the camp.
I tried submitting two different tickets, the first under the deed category and the next under the mob category with Siridan as the chosen mob. Both got the same generic reply that it's not a known issue that they can help with and that I should submit a bug report. I did so.
When they announced yesterday's downtime I thought that maybe the servers restarting might reset the place back out of it's bugged state (ranger control with no spawning of Siridan). No such luck, it seems. When I logged on last night the situation was the same. Does anyone know if the servers actually did restart or were they just inaccessible while the authentication servers and such were moved? If it's the latter then maybe a true restart still would reset the place... though I don't know how likely that is.
I'll keep checking back, though I've kinda resigned myself to not advancing this deed anytime soon. If only the GMs could Spawn Siridan at that campfire where he's supposed to be when the rangers hold the place, it'd be much obliged. I'm not holding my breath, though.
Hopefully someday this will be fixed.

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
I spent the better part of 3 days out there looking for Siridan a few weeks ago and no luck. I even stayed up all night waiting for the timer resets and all but Gwaelband were flipped back to Angmar?!??!

Yep - bugged. GM's don't want to know about it. Annoying that we can't get access to the tier 2 deed. No point in doing Annuminas instances until you can unlock that second part of the deed :/

Note that you can check the status of the control points by looking at your map of annuminas from anywhere. Saves you a bit of time before you head there to check it out.

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
This deed was buggy when it was first implemented, except back then it was the boss at the Tirband camp, Agarochir, and he would NEVER spawn to re-take the camp... I remember having to get a GM to spawn him so we could complete the deed.

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
there is an easy fix for this, well, relatively easy. if you go to the campfire where Siridan is supposed to spawn, then file a ticket and ask that a GM spawn Siridan so you can finish the deed they will do it. I did this twice this past week with a few kin members that needed him to finish the deed, the first time we had him spawned in about 2 minutes from filing the ticket. The 2nd request later took about 20 minutes, but they CAN spawn him for you, just ask nicely and be patient. Also a good idea to ask kinmates and others if they need him as well

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
Had a friend in Beta check out the Gwaelband hotspot for me. It seems our favorite Leader of the Invasion is still MIA. Since people will be running the Annuminas instances again and may want to finish that deed, you'd think they'd get a fix out on this, but it looks like we'll still be going to the GMs to get the first tier done.

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
This really should be an issue on DEV's plate, not the GMs. I think the control points have honestly been buggy longer than they have been working, and that is SAD.

I was having the same issues with the flipping of Gwaelband, so I came to the forums saw this post and filed a ticket, where GM +Ohtah+ graciously responded rather quickly (about 5 minutes) and he spawned the mob for me and my group who were ready and waiting for his appearance.
So thank you +Ohtah+.

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
Just a quick update for those wanting to do this on their own (without GM intervention -- if you get an unhelpful GM or want to avoid a long wait).
You can drag 2 Gorthorogs from the area above about to the door just north of the camp here:

And then have someone else aggro the RK quest sig mob from the camp west of the rangers, drag him past the rangers (to aggro them), and up to the trolls. Once the rangers kill the RK mob, the Marshall should aggro onto a gorthorog and get destroyed by him.
This will then flip the camp and spawn Siridan:

Ragluk - 75 Stalker - Rank 6

FWIW, I did what the previous poster said, and the camp didn't flip. The camp just stayed empty for a while, then the Dunadan NPCs respawned.

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
So, I asked a GM for help like some posters in this thread suggested, and I got this reply.
Thank you for your help request. The In-Game Support team cannot provide hints or solutions, such as the location of NPC's, mobs, how to complete quests or other game-specific details of this nature. You can use the Advice channel from within the game to ask fellow players for assistance or you can visit the LOTRO.com forums and Lorebook for answers to gameplay questions such as the one you are asking. Good luck and thanks for playing!
I wasn't asking for hints, I was asking them to spawn Siridan for me, and I was standing at his spawn point. What should I do?

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
Apparently they have fixed the deed: spoke to a GM today and was told:
"+Algar+: I cannot manually spawn this monster for you. You will need to wait for him to appear on his own."
+Algar+: The deed is working correctly. You just need to keep attempting to find him.
Has anyone had any luck finding him on his own? Or does it still require a GM to spawn?

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
Update....after a bit of experimentation and some team mob pulling -- it *IS* possible to have the invaders of annuminas to take and defeat Gwaelband its a bit tricky and requires some teamwork. You need to pull the mobs from the camp to the east, then move them up the hill a bit, AND pull a troll and mobs from the camp to the south. With any luck...our ranger will lose and the invadors will win. Siridan DOES spawn when the camp flips. So I guess it is fixed!

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
Tried this today with little to no luck. Was able to get one troll down there, but then every time I pulled them they turned around at gate, despite fact was walking backwards and goading the whole way. It may be 'fixed', but it seems pretty broken to me if you have to help the enemy defeat your allies in order to kill them. I can think of no other place in the game where this is a mechanic.

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
A kinmate of mine was with a group trying to complete this deed today so I took to the internet to see if there was a way to get Siridan and I found this thread. We tried to pull the mobs (after his group gave up and disbanded), but had no luck. I got one troll inside the gate but the second reset and we couldn't grab him back before the other mobs we got fighting got killed. I don't understand why Siridan isn't at his campfire across the bridge like he used to be. All of the others can be found no matter who controls what camp, so why not Siridan?

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
Done this deed easily, the siridan part has been that way; we killed the Freeps letting mobs attack them.
how?
1: a lvl 60 tank (me) aggroed the 2 20k Trolls in the way up and moved that trolls to the marble Arch near Freeps camp (if i go down, trolls will go reset), then i wait there while the lvl 55 healer heals me.
2: a lvl 55 captain lured the Archivier on the other side of the bridge and lured him to the Freeps, but he took the way to me and the trolls.
3: since we were all together freeps, mobs and my kinsmates, we let enemies kill us.
4: 2 trolls VS marshall freep, marshall has been murdered by the trolls, Siridan appears.
5: we retreat/revive, we team and then we go to kill siridan, that easy to kill that's even funny.
Total time to kill all 6 bosses to complete the deed: 2 hours.
Total trys: 3 times.
we started 3 hours ago and we have done by now, it's not imposible, you just need a nice team.
PD. don't disturb a GM with that, it's not bugged, it's possible.

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
After attempting to flip Gwael multiple times (rediculous things would happen, like 1 of the dundain would reset..) we petitioned, and the GM (study of the history of words) made him spawn at his "blue flag" spot at the campfire just across the bridge.
Phew, 2 hours extra late at night, but got it done for my friend.

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
Post update the trolls are only 2k elites.
It's very hard to get them to follow you as far as the Dunedain. The regular Angmarim are 1.1k each now, and get eaten up in one or two hits by the defenders. The sole time I got a troll in range of a Dunedain, the central guy (12k health) eat the troll for breakfast, taking no damage.
I don't see how you can flip this now.
The only control point I see flipped regularly now is Tirband, on the time Agarochir ( the only boss left with 20k health, all the others are 2k now ) defeats the Dunedain mostly himself.
And no. Siridan doesn't spawn anywhere in the vicinity that I can find. Left my toon there and logged in many different times :/. It surely is broken

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
Strange, this. I was in Annuminas to catch up on my rep with the wardens ( rangers?) and got side tracked catching up on some old epic quest ( now that i can solo them ). In the process i took a quest to do a boss kill. A bit tough, but doable for a 65 WS mini. When i killed the guy, this particular deed popped up in my book, Leaders of the Invasion. I don't pay such things much attention, not a title chaser. But when i went back to the ranger camp in Annuminas, there was a new quest ring i hadn't noticed before. I checked it and there was a quest to kill another boss. I checked the deed book, sure nuff, there he was.
So, what i am getting to is, is there a possibility that this particular guy is triggered through a similar boss kill quest?Last edited by Hellsbane; Apr 06 2011 at 10:50 AM.

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
With the new level 40 Annuminas comes improved WEAK trolls. it is now impossible for two or possibly even ten of these very weak trolls to take on the marshal. He single handedly tears through them like wet tissue paper. Turbine nerfed the zone a bit, but in the process made this deed virtually impossible to complete even with the creative work around mentioned in prior posts. Additionally the quests that were there for Annuminas bosses have either been moved or changed to another quest-giver/chain. If there is some other unique means of flipping the control point, I have not been able to find it.

Re: Leaders of the Invasion (Annuminas)
I have been trying for years to complete this Deed from my book.
I have camped the site - no Siridan
I have tried to pull the mobs as described but this has not worked for me - again no Siridan
I looked at the new quests in the area and done but none revealed Siridan.
I have submitted bug reports on him numerous times over the years - deaf ears.
I am a completest and all my area deeds are done for all zones except this one.
If they could increase the the flip time for that area - that is all we ask.
I see the other two all the time red / blue .. red / blue but where Siridan lives .. always Blue
I was excited about the new patch and the changes to Evendim, thinking, "YES, I get to kill that SOB" but atlas ..it is still just out of my reach.
Good luck to everyone else having this same issue and if you DO find a solution, please post.Unitsi - a Founder and Leader of
