This looks very well organized. Unfortunately, many of the links no longer work. Time for a revival?

Agreed, just started an RK alt, came here for info ... nearly every link is broken/thread is gone.

That needs to be fixed before this fall or the wails of the ahem ... new players will make me deaf.

Looks like most of the linked posts didn't get bumped and were wiped. That bites because I have recently started playing my RK again. :-(

This post was put up before a "forum pruning," when they get rid of a bunch of older posts. So yeah, most of the links are dead now, unfortunately.

THIS is one of the main reasons I can't even get started in LotRO - ALL of the links are broken and I get really frustrated trying to learn anything. They should either keep the links up and stop "pruning" them, or just take the forums down altogether.

I am wondering which profession is a good match for the RK. I am temped to go with Jeweller, just because, but wondering if Historian isn't the way to go.

I went with historian on my RK. Being able to keep yourself supplied with morale, power, etc. pots not to mention the RK inlays and enamels is pure win.

Some great information here, thank you to those who contributed!. I will certainly keep it all in mind while in game.

I would like to ask the higher RK's for some tips, the do's and don'ts shall we say of being a rune keeper.. It seems like quite a confusing and in depth class so i want to get as much out of it as possible.. any tips and tricks not already mentioned (if there are any lol) would be greatly appreciated.

Well i have an excellent question. Resistance, i was told that if you dont have a considerable amount its worthless, is this true?

Hi, so I got a lvl 26 RK on Snowbourn and I got a couple of questions
1. does de rune-stone dps affect your dmg or is it only when attacking meele?

2. Should I use items with less armour, but with better stats? (will, fate)

3. Any general tips when pulling 3 or more mobs?

Having just started my first RK, could someone answer a couple of newbie questions?:

1) What the purpose of the riffler and chisel are and how they are equipped?

2) It looks like the satchel is just a stats booster similar to the Champion Rune, is this correct or does it have any other purpose?

Thinking of picking up my lvl 13 RK after update six nerfed the hell out of my Warden, but after the Warden, RKs got the most changes. Were RKs "fixed" in the same way that Wardens were today?

I'm guessing you mean Update 4? Update 4 = Rise of Isengard/Book 4, Update 5 = ToO-cluster/Book 5, Update 6=Great River/Book 6.

Rune-Keepers have never been "broken" the way Wardens were. Some people on these forums have claimed the class defunct but that has never been the case. Maybe it had fallen behind (or been caught up by) other classes, but the class itself was always working as intended. ... Disregarding a certain skill-lock bug of course.

Update 6 fixed Wardens back to their original immortal state and put a lot of freshness and polish on the Rune-Keeper.

After a few years hiatus, I've come back to LOTRO... and re-rolled a new Rune-keeper to boot!

I'm in the process of updating this sticky... cleaning up the dead links and linking to more relevant information. If there are any specific threads or sources of information you'd like to see linked, please let me know.

Very useful

I'm yet to read everything here and watch those clips I saw on youtube, just really want to prep my self; my RK is now at 17 and ready to take orders from tom bombadil, but

1) are there important exploration/slayer deeds I should complete? I didn't explore Ered Luin went straight to Bree when I reached lvl 14
2) I might not be able to change equip until my RK's lvl 20, will it hold until the Barrow-downs? I always play ranged class and I'm pretty aware how squishy they are and I really hate the undead :P
