How do I get reputation for Thorin's Hall? In Bree-Land and the Shire, reputation opportunities are everywhere. So far for the dwarves, I found a guy who will trade Dourhand Crests for rep, but I have killed lots of Dourhands and never seen a single crest. Are they only from certain Dourhands? Is this rep really only for higher level characters? That would seem unfair - I am 23rd level and already nearly a Friend of the Men of Bree. Why can I not do the same for my homeland?
Sarnur is pretty much the main place to get it, although I've had crests drop in the Misty Mountains as well as I recall off Dourhands. Been a couple years. Sarnur is just SE of Thorin's Gate, and it's about a 45+ level area.

Quests that give rep for Thorin's start by helping the dwarves of Othrikar in the North Downs. These quests start around level 30ish with a few of the being for fellowships. Completing them all will carry you to Friend status.
After that as stated by OP, you need to go to Sarnur, level 45+ rep dungeon in
Ered Luin.

Actually the new Lone-Lands has a few Dwarves that give Thorin's Hall rep. And if you are around lvl 23 you should be getting to those quests soon, there aren't a lot of them, but they should start you on your way. And as mentioned above Orthrikar in North Downs and Gloin's camp in the Misty Mountains Thorin's Hall rep quests, but those are a bit later.
Just think that Dwarves take longer to trust people, but when they do they become friends for life (Paraphrased from somewhere in one of Tolkien's works, I believe The Hobbit)

Re: reputation for Thorin's Hall
There are Thorin's rep quests in;
- Thorin's Hall (mostly to do with Sarnur, and mostly introduced with SoM)
- Lone Lands (again, introduced with SoM)
- North Downs (Orthrikar, as someone previously mentioned)
- Misty Mountains (from Gloin's camp. There are actually quite a few from here, as well as some of the helegrod quests, and i believe some in the Middle of the High Pass area)
- Forchel (all of the quests out of the dwarf fortress are Thorin's Rep).
The rep trade in drops can be acquired;
- inside Sarnur
- from Dourhands in Forochel and possibly Misty Mountains (i can't remember seeing any drop in MM, but it would make sense)
- Skirmish mark trade in.
No other Dourhands give you the crests or relics.
IMO Thorin's rep is one of the hardest SoA factions to get (along with Council of the North -the restriction on hand-ins are a pain).

Ironicamally, they are all right outside the Garrison. They aren't quite as cake as the ones for Bree though, troll-killing be required.

I have a 39 minstrel who has done all the thorins LL and othrikar quests and still neutral with Thorins and I can't turn in crafted rep items yet it seems. Yet he is a freind to bree it's really frustrating. It will be a while till I can hit Sarnur too
I find it irksome that my dwarf is a Friend to the Galadhrim but only an acquaintance with the dwarves of Thorin's Hall.
That is because a Dwarf actually requires an impressive act of courage before befriending you. All you have to do for the elves is pick some flowers and sing to their sad trees.
I spent about 2 hours in Sarnur farming 'first-age relics' and 'Dourhand crests'. The total I came away with were around 80 of the crests and about 20 of the relics. Just stay on the first and second areas in there. When you hit level 65, walking through there to collect crests is a breeze. You can kill any of the mobs in there pretty easy.
Give it a shot...once you're a high enough level.

Thorin's hall and Council of the North are the two most difficult place to be Kindred. Like many other said, Rep for Thorin's is spread out over the world. When at level 60, you could do solo runs inside Sarnur for deeds and reputation items. You just have to be patient.
You don't really need to be Kindred with them to have the reputation goodies. Mostly Ally but it take times. Most of the other areas, you hit Friend and even Ally just by doing all quests (and book quests). Not Thorin's hall. So far dwarves, it was a pain to wait for certain items that humans could get easely with Bree.
at what level can i start the reputation turn in quests? dwarf jewels, dourhand flags....some sites say mid 40s, some say 39. I do wish they would remove the requirements like these to start gaining faction. I'd like some low lvl alts to have it up. The game has been out long enough for this to have changed.
There are some Dwarves in Northern Bree-land that give Thorins Hall rep. If you head East of the Horse Seller there should be one there who has a few quests for some extra rep. I haven't found any others in Bree Land but I also haven't looked.

Last I looked the turn in quests for TH are level 46 so you can get them at level 41
I'll just point out that Dourhand Crests drop from the Dourhand dwarves in Forochel, who are near the friendly dwarf camp at Zigilgund in western Forochel.
Just to say, i believe all races should start with " Friendly " reputation with their own kind. You can slim it down to homeland. Take elves. If you are an elf and your home is Lothloria then you start with friendly faction with them, but not with Rivendale, you must earn their trust.
The mini dungeon in the lonelands (connects to Mithrenost and Cirith Nur, which are the dourhand and orc camps) is a nice little run. A few quests for some faction but a very easy run thru if your needing to up your Dourhand kills to advance your racial deeds, lvl 29ish is also when the troll racial deed opens up, plenty of them in LL but they can be tough if you're on your own.
But i will agree getting faction with Thorins is tough at low levels. It's a shame you can get so much in breeland for the manlings.
And don't get me started on the elves........................
Dwarves are AWESOME, elves .......... not so much.

Since the last update they've added the tasks bulletin board - so now everyone can run tasks, turn them in and get rep. Max 5/day for f2p players, don't know if there's a limit for VIPs (don't think there is but I could be wrong.) Problem is, these tasks require me to turn in items that I make a pretty good silver coin from, so I don't even bother with them.
Usually between levels 45 and 50 I'll take my characters into Sarnur and spend about an hour or two killing everything in sight. By that time, I usually have enough first age relics and Dourhand crests to reach kindred with Thorin's Hall. To tell you the truth, it's one of the easiest rep factions for me to do since the rep items in Sarnur drop like candy. I don't even bother going into Sarnur that far. In most cases I'll just go to the first area with Dourhands, bats and cave claws and repeatedly run in a circle in that area killing everything. Remember, the bats and cave claws also drop tons of the rep items so make sure to loot them.
One of these days when I'm bored, I might go back to Sarnur with one of my characters and farm rep items just to sell on the AH. Between the rep items and the vendor trash I should come out with a nice chunk of change.
I have a total of four characters
level-75
level-58
level-24
level-23
and none of them can get any reputation for Thorin's Hall
I can not find the answer as of why the support team
keeps telling me to look in the lorebook which I think is BS
they don't know so they just throw some out there.
If some one knows why please let me know why I can't get
any Reputation for Thorin's Hall.....
Wow this was an old thread! Actually now anyone at any level can get rep for Thorin's Hall. The items granting this are dropped from mobs in Sarnur, and sometimes can be bought at the auction house.
If you read the thread, then you should know to go to Sarnur.
I have spent about 2 hours there and only need a couple relics to finish my rep with Thorin's Hall.
Everything you kill in Sarnur can drop a rep item.
If you have run the starter quest in Ered Luin then Sarnur is near the quest where if you take the wrong path you go from low level mobs to level 40's mobs and get squashed like a bug.
I've gone from Neutral to the next one (Known or Acquaintance, I forget which) just by doing the tasks from Gondamon at levels 8 - 16. It required a couple of "reset daily task counts" but being one of the few level 16 characters able to run around the Blue Stone Garrison was worth it to me. :-)
