Thread: Game Error 201

I used to play LOTRO and didn't have any issues. Recently I decided to resubscribe and reloaded the game from the original disks. I am using windows XP. Now I am getting the Game Error 201, can't open the data files. Check that they exist and that you have premission to write to them. The Program will now exit [201]. I have found several threads on this and have tried everything that I can find and nothing seems to work. Has anyone found an easy fix to this yet? I am the only user and have full admin rights.

Please, can anyone help me with this, I have been paying for a week now and am unable to play at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there anyone else who has had this error? I have read all I can about how to fix the issue, and as far as I can tell I've tried all suggestions. IF someone has had this error, and it was fixed, can u please let me know what it was. Thank you

I have the same error and i have not figured it out.
