SoE is a Lifespan Rank 10 Kinship with our over-decorated Kin Hall located at 1 High Road, Brougham, Bree Housing. We have our own Ventrilo server and website ( www.ShadowLotro.com ) which offers many tools, forums, and guides, as well as active presences on Facebook and Twitter (@ShadowLotro).
We are a mature (age 18+) group of men and women from all walks of life and various time-zones ( Majority of our members play US Evening and Weekend hours, though we have several European timezone members as well ) with many real-life friends and families among our ranks. We are focused and driven to achieve everything this game has to offer, yet do so in a casual, laid-back environment - we tend to take the game more seriously than we take ourselves.
We run regular weekly Kin Events, with most Raids/Skirms/PvMP happening on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays - though we regularly run spur-of-the-moment mayhem based on our members and when they are/can be online.
Sense of humor required. A few loose screws preferred.
Riders of Rohan is coming! Whether you share the excitement or feel as though your head may explode from potential failure on Turbine's part, nobody can deny the game is gonna change in a very big way very soon! Good to see SoE keeping on into the future, many thanks to a dedicated group of guys and gals who keep the fun alive
Welcome to all of our new members! Good to see you folks getting comfy and nesting, but there's always room for more! If interested, please apply at Shadowlotro.com, or contact one of our Officers in game!
The vast open plains of Rohan are about to be flooded by confused people trying to figure out how to make a war-steed stop and turn. Need help learning the tricks? Want some advice on how to level to 85 without stepping in horse &&&&? Come check us out as SoE leads the charge into the latest and greatest xpac of all time. We are chomping at the bit to get our members levelled and geared as we finally reach the Rohams and love having fun while doing it.
Check us out in game or online at www.ShadowLotro.com ! Now I just need one more bad horse pun to end on. Hmm. How about: Never look a gift horse in the mouth! There. It almost even makes sense!
SoE is gearing up for Christmas and the new year, and looking for a few new friends to share in the experience! We have a dedicated core of capped players for instancing and pvmp, which we have been hitting with more gusto and frequency with our freep nights and new tribe, Dances With Elves, and a slew of alts and mains that are at intermediary levels to assist members and recruits of every level in all aspects of character advancement, be they raiding/instancing, deeding, or if you're just looking for someone to quest with because you are bored! We are a drama-free kin (Instigators please state so on their applications so we can be forewarned ;p) and look to provide a positive and friendly environment for any player who wants to have a good time in a kin that doesn't load itself up with pretense or take itself too seriously (it's a GAME!). We are a smaller kinship for a reason: we find quality to be more important than quantity, and having a smaller kin allows us to spend more time focusing on our members and not having a kin roster made up of half-strangers and random kin invites. We screen our applications for this very reason; We want to know YOU as a person! You are more than just the class you play; your worth is inherent! If this appeals to you, apply at Shadowlotro.com today!
Merry Christmas, Arkenstone, and a Happy and Prosperous New Year!
Recruiting has been amazing lately, and nearly all based on word of mouth and friends telling friends. We stand, as always, by our actions. Words are cheap. Want to actually have fun in -omg- a video game? Check us out. Sense of humor required. Loose screw or two a plus.
Pre-Winter-Apocalyse Bump! The storm's comin', and we're battening down the hatches and prepping our ale here at Shadows. Come share a tankard with us and stay warm. You may even be felt up. Yay, ale!
Website Revamp Bump! I overdid it again and no, no I'm not done lol. Easier navigation, Info dumps, and much much quicker load times. Oh, and enjoy the creepy a$$ music too
Today's announcement brought to you by the letters FU and the number 69.
Last year I decided to take a break from Lotro and installed my cousin Brad aka Feristahl as the supreme dictator. It was always the plan for me to return one day and resume leading the Kin, and thought it would be a couple months or whenever I deemed that I *needed* to come back and fix things - which never really happened!
Now that I've been back in Lotro full-time for several months, Brad and I have decided that we feel like swapping back. That's all, just feel like it. No drama, no real reason other than why the hell not. We've spent the last couple weeks preparing, with the website revamp and limited open recruiting and such. Over the next few weeks we will be ramping up just about all Kin activities, including raiding and PvMP - but only because we want to have fun, we're not changing into a Raiding kin or anything like that - we're still the kin that raids for the fun, not to run the same thing 300 times so we can be "first".
So in closing, all I can really say is thank you to Brad for the amazing job he has done at the helm and thank everyone for making SoE what it is - a great place to hang out with amazing people. /Salute!
It has been an incredible experience, and an honor! I can only thank Ed for entrusting me with the reigns, as I know how much time and effort he has put into SoE throughout it's entire gaming history, and to be able to preside over a period of it and learn the ropes was immensely rewarding! My thanks go to him, our damned fine officers, and all of YOU, for exemplifying the true meaning of 'kinship', and for all the great times we've had, are having, and will have! You are all true friends, and noble and good people, and it is such an honor to know you and be a part of this!
Happy 6th Anniversary Lotro! It's been a hell of a ride and I'm honored to be lucky enough to have been around since the start of this amazing game (although the 6-year portrait frame is bit too polka-dotty lol). We've been having a blast lately running around Middle Earth with the new(ish) raids as well as revisiting the classics for nostalgia and new-lewtz digging, as well as teaching new victims..err soldiers the ropes of the Moors PvMP.
We're looking forward to Update 11 and the Wildermore coming soon as well as many more years of hawt Lotro goodness!
