Allow Barber cosmetic changes to cover skin tone.

A minor gripe. When I first started the game, way back before there were barbers, I made the skin tone of my Captain a little too 'red.' I would like to change this. It has always bothered me that she looked unnaturally reddish, and with the barber addition, I thought a fix was in. Unfortunately not. I know this is not top tier, but it would make me (and probably a lot of other people with similar gripes happy) if this were allowed. Perhaps the coding behind this isn't as easy as I think it might be, but it would be a nice change, if possible. Just dropping this in the suggestion box! ^_^

I did the same thing with my loremaster, she's too red. I wish I could change her skin tone!

I think not - a barber in Middle-Earth isn't a plastic surgeon in Belair, California...

But he can already add/remove freckles and facial scars; this is hardly a stretch. I'm sure lots of people made mistakes in character creation. (Personally, I chose the wrong land of origin for my Captain, but so long as I don't wear that title, nobody will ever know.)

Anyway, changing skin colour, hair colour, eye colour... everything at character creation in the Barber NPC would be nice!

I would like to change characteristics like skin tones, eyes (but not the face itself, like noses and stuff), but most of all I would like to be able to change the region of Origin.

At first, I thought Mirkwood was nice, but then for all my elven characters I chosed Lindon, wich I ended up to make my RP background.

But then theres that 1st character, lvl60, wich is from Mirkwood. I would like to change it to Lindon for RP reasons.

I want to change my eye color.

Anyway, given how very basic all the tunes look, why not let folks change. It would help the community spread-out and find their own look.

Re: Allow Barber cosmetic changes to cover skin tone.

Even as a fairly heavy RPer, I have to chime in I'd like to see this. The ability to get (or lose) a tan is not a plastic surgery type issue, and I feel it would make sense to be able to change this somehow. Despite the fact he *technically* wouldn't be the one doing it, a barber is the most logical gameplay location for this to happen.

Beyond that, to this day I still find myself pining that there isn't a way to do an appearance respec. If a character is killed off for RP purposes, or if you realize you made a mistake or want to make a major change later on, there's no way to do this other than making and leveling an entirely new character... which can be pretty painful if you make this realization late. Even if it were something that were limited per character or considered a premium service, the ability to do an entire change of a character's appearance and region, even if its a "one time per character" thing... That would be just fantastic.

This and adjusting the body size slider should both be included at the barber. More cosmetic control over our characters is a good thing!

I want to make my burglar blonde for Rohan.

It would suck to make your first toon look terrible by accident and have to deal with it a year later while waiting around for a pug. "Hmm so when is the Filikul raid going to start... oh man my skin-tone and hair colour look terrible."

People stayed out in the sun a lot right? Or stayed in doors for long periods too if they wanted. So...stands to reason one could have skin that changes shades right?

Seeing as how the Barber is our only real interface for changing certain details...we have to give concessions to gameplay sometimes.

I like this idea as well. I remember when I made my elf...he looked really cool in character creation. But serval levels later I got this vest...which showed off more skin...

I wish my barber could give me a tan. I'd never have to go out in the sun and worry about skin cancer and seagull poop.

I support this, when I made my hunter back in beta the coloring seemed right until I got into the actual 'world'. Then I seemed horribly pale, I'd already put like 10 levels into him at that point so I didn't feel like re-rolling, now in his 50s and with mastery of wood working I wouldn't even think of it.

Please, let me tan my elf a bit.

Don't see any reason not to do this given what the barber can already do.. if there's some sort of fear about it being overused (which, really, is unlikely to happen anyway even if such a thing was possible) then just make it expensive to make larger changes. A scaling system where a fresh out of the creator level character cost almost nothing to change and a veteran took a big pile of coin would be ideal.

I'm pretty much happy with how my characters look, but I know on a previous game I made a horrible mistake on my first character's appearance and never had an option to change it. I totally sympathize.

Agreed! Someone can lose or gain weight without it being a big cosmetic change.

Also, I think one person asked about hair color. Can't you already adjust that? I could've sworn I adjusted both of my burglars' hair color at different points in game.

I think any of the appearance options should be changeable at the barber.

Skin tone, eye color, eye style, body shape, etc ....

There is no reason (that we know of) why we shouldn't be able to tan or get rid of those bags under our eyes.

All I need now is long hair (knee-length, most hopefully), and I'm said I will then be as I had hoped and have drawn my character to be. I wouldn't mind giving up the cloak slot for such a thing.

I completely agree with this. I was in a hurry when the open beta servers went live and two of my poor elves suffered; I forgot to adjust skin tone and now they kind of glow in the right lighting. It doesn't really bother me a whole lot since I mainly see their backs, but an option to change skin tone would be very nice.

Same here, I just made a burgler that looked just right in the Character Creation screen, but in-game he looks several shades paler. I would like to be able to adjust the skin color slider, and even the body shape - over time this hobbit might gain some weight!

    I wholeheartedly support this suggestion!

Alas, my poor hobbit, working the fields under the noonday sun and looking like an albino vampire that grew up in a sunless cave. Well, maybe he's not *that* bad - but he definitely appears sickly and quite pale. I would love to be able to change that.
