Thread: A very dumb and silly suggestion.

No I'm not going to talk about Flying Mount or how to improve/new pvp games (well maybe just a little). I'm not going to find loopholes and tell you to quit my topic because i cannot reply to your arguments. I'm not going either to propose something new, because its all turbine, i just want to make it happen!

The Battle of Am0n Hen *

I know, i know it is where Boromir died, but its also an April's Fool Turbine(they have all the merit for the idea) did last year and this is what i will talk about in this post. I got the idea few day ago when some crazytalk** happened on the General Forum thread..

After reading some people asking (if not crying) for a better form of pvp ( I'm already hearing the pvp hater typing..) I had an idea.....

This 'battle' would be handled like a scenario or a battleground, so it would be instanced pvp mini-game (15minutes max, X point to win, bla bla bla..). Though you would enter as.... a ~chicken ! Two team of 12 chicken would face each other (team randomly assigned) between the 2 kind of poulets (the gory and the white meat)..

The scenarios would be won by completing the objectives ( a capture the flag or capture the objective, blue name you have the burden to choose which one ) and also point by killing other people. Though as pvp mini-game, you will be able to poke your enemies to death to prevent them to win. Reward would be DP and pvp-xp for winning the battle, and the looser could get a smaller amount of stuff (if not very small amount of dp and pvp-xp)..

Also there could be an improvement by ranking the chicken and giving them title, give also a new 'cluck tab' to keep track of the improvement, rank, kills and stuff for the people who really care about these silly things, etc, etc.. From there i guess you see the big picture of what i mean and if you really want a picture i can draw you one.


Anyway, its just a thought, though i read somewhere there were some Devs who liked to build "moment of fun" *cough* *cough*.. So Turbine its in your hands... make it happen.

This I don't mind. Chicken Vs. Chicken I would not mind, in fact I just might play!

You could have a maximum of 2 roosters on each side with stronger stats too. What I like about this side is that you would not have the balancing issues because everyone would be the same.

Well if its based on chicken fighting, it would more logical to make a battlefield closer to some hobbites farmland, no ?


You know i just took the name of the joke cause I thought it was great, even if there is nothing linked to the lore. Oh and just that, the fact this idea doesn't touch the lore at all give another reason to make it happen.

Necro-ing this idea, especially after having finished the "Flying the Coop" series of quests. I *really* wanted to be able to attack things as a chicken.

Short chicken PvP session battles would be a hoot...or is that a cluck?

Chicken Play is the only thing LotRO has going for it anymore, so more of it has to be a good thing. I'd actually log in for new chicken play content.

BUT for chicken rankings, there should also be the option to have hats for you chickens! Maybe your chicken likes a top hat, a party hat, or...for you fowl poultry..an orc helmet!

With the coming of F2P i would strongly suggest to not let this idea fall into fourm's limbo.

Hmm 10month since last post.. I still believe one or two turbine employee should put some time on this..

if we're gonna have CvC i.e. cockfighting, we better eb able to place bets and gable in game gold. speaking of which, why is there no gambling in lotro?s

I'm up for the idea also...but still find it a shame chicken punting hasn't ever returned as a festive game that was a great laugh, if rather cruel

I think this is the one form of player-vs-player that I might enjoy... probably because I'd identify much less with a chicken than with my own character.

So, as one of the most 'don't get the appeal of PvP'-players out there: if this makes it into the game, I'm in!
