Best. Forum. Quote. Ever.
As a full-time mini, I'm seriously considering putting this in my sig, 2 years old or not
And some creeps. Most of whom shall remain nameless
Re: 3 things a champion would like you to know... cause I hate you and want you to cr
This game needs more Champions around. Might just be the servers I've used, but I tend to find them only in the level 60-65 range, or a few in intros that I never meet again.
Then again, Burglars, Guardians and Wardens are even less common, and the only class I really see too much of are those kill-hogging Hunters, so yeah.

Saw it. You guys need to learn manners, listen to the military chaps once in a while.
Then again, I'm a TP grinder, I manage to get in everyone's way. "You've done this how many times and still feel the need to steal a few of my kills?" "Yes Mr. Hunter, feel free to take your pick, I'll collect the bear droppings."
Re: 3 things a champion would like you to know... cause I hate you and want you to cr
Lmao! I always wondered where the term SHING SHING came from. Awesome post and another bump to clear all the whiny "I want what they got" threads going on right now.

I read this shortly after it was posted when i spent the first few months reading the forums more than playing the game and it still makes me laugh!
To this day, i still occasionally say 'Sorry, I was chasing butterflies' when i miss a heal etc. Now more people may 'get' the reference.
This thread also inspired my unhealthy obsession with hats: Oh, how i wish i hadn't accidentally trashed my floppy minstrel hat that you get early on. (Lonelands perhaps?)

The big one with the big feather in it like a 3 musketeers hat? That one you get in archet(for hobbits and men anyway). If that's the one you mean there are other hats with the same look, even one in the store I think. Now this champ thread has been hijacked by 2 minis talking about fancy hats. HA

Now i don't feel so guilty about this minstrel hat obsession derailing thread-cause you are a champ and you are allowed to do what you want

I´m not entirely sure you´re serious:
If you are, I can only recommend that you delete this post right now. Because it appears that you have entirely misunderstood the intentions of one of the most famous single posts on this Forum

An excellent trolling post from ThePortalOpener or one for the epic fail thread that's on the go just now? *grin*

I don't want to be causing any trouble and if I have misinterpreted, I will gladly admit it and delete the post. But I would like to know what the writer himself means everything literally or all in good fun. That is a problem with written articles; you can never tell how the other person is intending it to be received.

I think the OP wrote the post in way that is undeniably obvious that he is joking. But even if you didn't pick that up, did you happen to read any of the posts in this topic? I think they are proof enough that the OP wasn't being entirely serious.
Re: 3 things a champion would like you to know... cause I hate you and want you to cr
I read the first ten or so. Also, I first read it in the Champion Philosophy section of the 'What we want other classes to know about Champions." Thus, from my perspective, he seemed to be smashing the other classes under foot. I am glad to see that, according to my last three responses, he was joking. All the same, as I said earlier, unless you're face to face, it's really hard to tell sometimes.

Re: 3 things a champion would like you to know... cause I hate you and want you to cr
To all those concerned, no, most of us do not play like this, unless with a kin group in which there really is no point but fun. In a raid or RoF, of course I will play my 'role' as a champion, but when running Stone Height T2 for the 7 millionth time for relics, we tend to have fun and blast our kinmates out of shear humor. Or actually testing (at their request) the abilities of another class (I.E. Throwing Ire onto a minstrel just to see if he can heal himself out of it while I sit back and watch). When things are looking bad, switch to glory, steal aggro then use champion's challenge. We all get a kick out of it and 'rofl' for a bit.
Champions are 1 of the funnest classes to play, and play with. Others are as well. Enjoy the people you group with, not their class!
Just remember, as a champion, it's my job to kill what's hitting you in the face

That's what Smileys were made for.
2 things a Captain would like Champions to know.
1 - You brought us along because you needed a boss. You can't SHING-SHING everything. You need to be told when and where to do it, so if a Captain tells you to, you can, but if not you stop. We are the boss after all since we are Captains.
2 - Always take Cook for a profession, it will give you something to SHING-SHING with when there is no combat. SHING-SHING has a second meaning, "It's Coney Pie time," nobody can slice and dice Rabbits into Coneys with all the trimmings like a Champion Cook besides you know the term Champion Cook has a ring to it. It will also keep you busy instead of constantly trying to spar your friends.

Fervour, Boiling Rage, Controlled Burn... it all makes sense now! Gordon Ramsey is a Champion!

For starters, the OP was completely serious. As having played multiple champs... I agree wholeheartedly.
Ebbing Ire is for when groups begin to sink into complacency. Steal from the guard, thrust it on a squishy, and suddenly the raid becomes ten times more fun.
Champs do not "need" your heals. We have Bracing Attack, pots, and that other skill... what was it called again?
Champs are filled with useless skills, but we manage to work our way around them. Single-target attacks? Psh. As if. Sudden Defence? I don't need to defend against anything, I have heavy armor.
Champs can use any weapon they want AND use it better than you. They just don't let you train certain ones because the LM's, Captains, Hunters, and Guards were getting jealous.
I have my skills separated into AOE and single-target. This allows me to be super-efficient in group situations.
Oh, and another thing- if the champ runs out of power, you're not letting her kill things fast enough. Shame on you!
This is, by far, one of my favourite threads ever!
As a mini that got thrown into a HoC run with 3 champs when the 30% penalty was still very much around I can only say: THANK YOU! You made me a better healer (because I've learnt that champs are crazy and deserve to die *just kidding*).
And my LM would like you to know that admitting to fear is the first step in the right direction. So leave me and my pets alone with your shing-shing-ness :P
Lastly, my champ didn't feel whole until she got her last page for SHING-SHING! She was a chimp only, but suddenly she was a CHAMP!!!
