Tell The Community Team - BONUS ROUND! 7/21/09

    How it works:
From time to time we'll be asking you questions, and here in our thread, you tell us: What comes to mind; what you think; how you feel; etc, as it relates to the question(s) at hand.

    Ground Rules:
Because we want this to be a place where we can gather valuable feedback from our community we're going to be a little tougher on the rules enforcement here. Please read both the Ground Rules and the Forum Guidelines posts before you do anything else. These will be strictly enforced.

    Question 1
What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?

-- There are some awfully cool cloaks in this game. But I have to say I like the Elvish Dress, I forget the name off hand, the one you get with high reputation with Rivendell. It is great in that the dye radically alters it, and it can look drastically different from person to person.

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?

    -- Friends

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?

-- How do you feel about Raid targets being made arbitrarily immune to class skills. Example: The filikul raid and the Burglar Enrage skill. Would this be something you would like to see more of in LOTRO, or less?

Hm, interesting question. My top character is only a 42, so I'm not quite confident in my ability to answer this in complete form. Might I say, though, that to be quite honest, I don't have a favorite item. Don't really care about items. The festival smoke bombs and things are fun; my little hobbit burg loves them.

Ah, and this question is why I decided to pipe up. Truly, LotRO is my very, very first MMO. Okay, okay - I played a freebie which shall remain nameless for all of 2 or 3 weeks. It scared me, mostly because of the community and the unfriendliness of the in-gamers online when I was. It was horrid. But it taught me to be careful about a guild; to find one, first of all, and that its purpose in an MMO was of the utmost importance. Find a guild that I will fit in with, and have fun with.

I searched purposefully for an MMO that I could play. I wanted a few things: mature players, mostly. I wanted to play an elf, and I wanted to play a healer class. I wanted to be able to make my own clothes (a good, or decent from my limited experience, crafting system). I wanted to have options if I didn't feel like fighting. I play for social reasons, and so I wanted a game that purposefully has people playing with one another. I also wanted purple hair, but that's neither here nor there. :P

I chose LotRO because it fit almost all of those criteria (purple hair not-withstanding ). I sought out and joined a kinship before ever purchasing the game. (I know, I'm a nut. Let me tell you, though, my kinship is a perfect fit for me, my playstyle, my real life obligations, and my personality. It was totally worth the research I did.)

I'll also tell you something else: When I sought out an MMO, I was looking at f2p games. Budget-wise, I really needed a freebie. I chose LotRO, even with the pay commitment, because it was excellently close to my ideal game. I really, really enjoy the community here, and it is why I stay. The maturity of the players is a HUGE draw to this game. And it convinced me to read the books. Yes, I'd seen the movies and love the storyline; anything that motivates me to do something worthwhile - like read a classic set of literature - gets a thumbs-up in my book. And I'm quite certain that it's why this game has a mature player base. I would beg Turbine to please make sure it stays that way. I avoided WoW and many other games for *this very reason*. FYI.

The social aspects are why I stay. My fantastic kinship is a huge part of that social play. I enjoy meeting folks, and fitting my healer in to a group. She's perfect for what I wanted to play, and the perfect class for someone who prefers to play in a group. (In fact, I find her difficult to solo. LOL Hence my burg! Whom I also love, and rolled for lore fun reasons. How can you play a game based on LOTR and not roll a hobbit??)

Hm. I've only taken a glimpse at a few of these threads, and this is the first on which I have ventured to compose a response. Maybe I should just list a couple of things that I'd like Turbine to hear?

*Moving around the game, place to place. I think there are lots of good ideas floating around about this one. Not that it's broken, but that it could be made easier and more fun.

*I hear horrid stories of gear-grinding and gear which out-ranks crafted items at high levels. This scares me....

*Hobbies rock. Casual players who want to chat and not necessarily bother with fights need something more to do. Fishing is... boring, honestly.

*Housing could be fun. I'd love to be able to stick my personality in my house through decorative options, have visitors who might sign something to let me know they were there, have a house-bound non-combative pet or few, etc etc. I think that the houses and the housing communities could be improved by leaps and bounds, and made a social area in general. Crafting spots in communities would be absolutely fantastic, and a place for players to just hang out while grinding out hides or whatever. Maybe make them all superior, and of course only accessible if you have a house or kinship house in that community. I'd love to see this area in-game become a hub for social activities, leading folks to stay and play a bit.

That is all. I've enjoyed these threads! Thanks for asking... and listening!

Answer 1) jingle jangle. Why? well I'm one of the lucky few to have one, and it has a cool effect. Its personal to the server. Trying replicate the joy from this item would be a failure.

Also, Cloudmantle. Not as hot an item as it used to be, thanks to recent additions to the game. Seriously &&&. Stats were always poopy, but it was an ultra unique look, that was pretty rare for a long time, and it wasnt easy to get.

    Answer 2)
books, movies, friends, mmo addiction, lore, graphics. you're losing me though. lets get it back together already.

    Answer 3)
    1. We are going to have 3+ end game multi boss raids for the next expansion. How do you feel about that?
    2. There will be 6 cluster instances leading into each raid. How do you feel about that?
    3. We are also adding an ultra mega whammy freeze tag arena. How do you feel about that?

    Question 1
What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?

Cloak of Shadow and Flame. I love that graphic.

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?

I read the books first and loved them. Then I watched the movies and they were good. Then I saw this game on the shelf at Best Buy and said why not.

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?

    1. What types of end game raids would you like to see?
    2. What types of things would you like to see added to kinships?

And the biggest one of all.

    3. What can we (Turbine) do to help improve our PvMP? We know we've neglected it but now we are going to do something about it.
Dejared - Hunter Dejawhite - Captain
Officer of Mythical an Arkenstone Kinship

    Question 1
What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?
-answer: for appearance i liked the medium armour you could buy at the forsaken inn (it was a dwarven set and looked awsome when, dyed burgundy or black, for wardens or champs) most of the old soa items had good stats near the end but i got to 50 at the time moria came out so i never saw or used them to see if they where good.

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?

-answer: the movies and the books

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?

1: My favorite item I have is my Lithe Festival Pony. It's nice to ride around and rarely see another player with that horse.

2: I came here hoping to immerse myself in the lord of the rings fantasy. I never read the books, and still have yet to do so. However the movie trilogy had me hooked from the very beginning when the music cued and the title revealed itself on the screen, I knew I was in for a treat. The game is great because I feel like I get to take part in the story as it continues.

3: I would ask what players thought about the current mail system, auction house system, current chat channel system, and what they would do to improve or change them.

Forums are a great place to find the most wicked sadistic minds of otherwise great gamers.

Answer 1: my Wig-Feld. Both the most sought after cloak and the best looking cloak in the game. These very rare items give many of us a drive to keep playing and running content more, after we normally would have drifted away to other things.

Answer 2: A friend from Guild Wars suggested I try out this brand new MMO that just got out of BETA. Been here ever since

Answer 3: What are some new types of mob mechanics you would like to see in future content? give a brief explanation.

Drechlor-75 champ, Drechlon 75 RK, Butterfingers 75 burg, Drechor 75 warden

    Question 1
What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?

The Robe of Viisaus. Hottest looking robe ingame imo.

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?

Long time Tolkien fan. Read the books, was involved in the movies. Used to play the T2T MUD 12-15 years ago. We'd often talk about what a graphical version of LoTR would look like... and here it is.

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?

Has gear gating had a negative effect on your enjoyment of LoTRO overall? Yes or No.

If it were possible, would it be good if raids were set based on the average level of the group? I think Helegrod, Bogbereth and othe SoA big raids would be more popular if they scaled with the group. So, if you had a bunch of 60s doing Helegrod, the mobs would be level appropriate.
Or, a question like What changes would you like to see to improve group dynamics? The game is really becoming two games and ne'er the twain shall meet.

    Question 1
What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?

Nothing specific, I like things like Creepy Coin, Savaric's Pride and Greenleaves's Lucky Rabbit's Foot. Never been able to vendor these. I love the descriptions in the way they give background story to the world, along with a bit of hunour.

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?

    Books

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?

    1. List 3 little niggles you have with the game that you would like looked at / fixed.

    2. Are you in favour of the current gear gating system?

    3. Do you prefer the current Legendary weapon system or the standard find/craft a weapon system in place at the end of SoA.

    Question 1
What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?

Nothing really grabs me as being visually appealling im afraid as nearly all armor sets look the same.

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?

Friend, + grew bored of the other MMO's

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?

If you could change one skill or concept of class 'X', what would that be and why?
Should an early level tier of crafting be removed/merged into another tier?
Should we be including more equipment on boss mob drops or crafted to vary the bland and limited choices we have today?
Should more content be based arround the 3-man concept of instances rather than 6?
Should we decrease the amount of xp required for legendary weapons?
What feature of the new legendary weapon system do you like/dislike and why?
If you knock on the devils door long enough, someone will answer.

    Question 1
What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?
Ronald_Dwale's_Pipe hands down. It reminds me of the fantastic Servant of Process quest line and the deep connections it had to Tolkien.

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?
Actually, it was a Salon article about how gay weddings were not allowed in LOTRO. I'm not much of a gamer, but my love the books and the films piqued my interest.

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?
Hmmm...for some reason the first few things that come to mind have already been asked. Something having to do with suggestions for improving chat channels, crafting, housing, or kinship maintainance would make my fluff loving soul happy. Probing for ideas for new instances and encounters could be interesting, though I doubt I'll have a good answer for any questions along those lines.

    Question 1
What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?

Not a fair question! There are several items in-game that each have meaning...too bad I couldn't keep them all for inventory space issues...
Okay, the pipe from the Dwalin quest-line, from the Hobbit that is supposed to be an homage to Tolkien himself....that's a cool pipe, I try to get all my characters to that quest for the pipe

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?

I first heard of Tolkien's works through the movies, but read the books before the movies were completely released....
I heard about Middle-earth Online through The Onering.Net and signed up back then.
I thought it had folded, but, when playing Guild Wars one day, another player recognized my name from Middle-earth and told me about LotRO being in Closed Beta...I applied, was accepted, and here I am still!!

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?

To be allowed to answer more than just 1 answer on what things we'd like to see in-game, changes, ideas we might have...to be able to write a few pages of ideas and submit them to Turbine, even if it were via snail-mail!
"...I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend..."

My Bree Steed. I love it for its appearance. I wish it was faster.

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?

The books and the background story.

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?

    Question 1
How much do you participate in PvMP?

    Question 2
Would you still play the game if PvMP was eliminated?

If you were a Dev, what would you add to the game in the place of PvMP?

What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?
Cloak of the Cluck, for the appearance and the on-use effect.

What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?
The books, and my overall dissatisfaction with other MMOs.

If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?
You are a dev for a day. What three changes would you make to:
    1. Legendary items?
    2. Instances?
    3. Crafting?

In general, I would like to see questions that allow players to open up and give their opinions and suggestions, as opposed to questions that pigeonhole the answers into one of several categories (as questions 1 and 2 do this week).

I'm more an appearance guy.. as a guardian, I love a great looking shield, and am still drooling to someday get an awesome elf-style sword like the NPC's can have. (You know the one I mean!)

Re: Tell The Community Team - BONUS ROUND! 7/21/09

    Ooo fun.

    Question 1
What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?

Celegdur. I raided Helegrod probably about 40 to 50 times. I love this instance. It was challenging, diverse, but simplistic enough that I could lead a PUG through at least a couple bosses. I got this bow on my second to last time through Helegrod, and was never happier. I would say Gilnor, but in my 40 to 50 runs of Helegrod I saw it drop once and lost the roll with a 96 to a 97. The stats are really what kept me after this bow for so long, high top end damage, high bottom end damage, and slow speed for power conservation (back when it was a 72-99 damage bow, not the imposter it is now of it's former glory). The graphic on Celegdur was definitely awesome too, and I still have it because after all that work, I refuse to vendor it.

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?

Unquestionably the lore brought me to this game. I loved the movies just as much as everyone else, but unlike in other MMO's, jumping into LotRO you're jumping into a fully fleshed out world of history. Read the Silmarillion when I was in 8th grade, and a beautiful illustrated version of the Hobbit when I was in 3rd grade, so that helped too.

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?

I love how everyone's questions so far are back handed suggestions like "What do you hate most about our beat down crafting system?"

I think I'd like to ask "What community activities would you like to see implemented? Think similar to the seasonal festivals or kinship leveling race. What would you like to see as rewards for your participation in this?" Bet some people have some killer ideas there.

Re: Tell The Community Team - BONUS ROUND! 7/21/09

    [QUOTE=Sapience;3891569]How it works:
From time to time we'll be asking you questions, and here in our thread, you tell us: What comes to mind; what you think; how you feel; etc, as it relates to the question(s) at hand.

    .
    --------------------------------------------------------------------
    Question 1
What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?

I like Hauberk of Glory mainly because it seems to be very rare, and I like the packs and quivers...oh love those all-in-one Superior Tools

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?

The books...LotR and the Hobbit have been my favorite books for over 40 years, first read them in college and read them about 5 times more since....and still enjoyed them immensely every time. Also greatly enjoyed the movies, but the books were genius.

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?

Would you like to see the Legendary system changed to 2-3 weapons and/or class items you always kept? that the player was in control of what legendaries were added through quests and experience, that started as 3rd age and grew to first age as you leveled it and found legacies you wanted on it. Each age advance would be a major series of quests and leveling. Legendary choices based on levels...but YOU would be making all choices....no dependance on blind luck.

Would you be willing for the change even if it negated current legendaries?

Would you like to see radiance gating removed from the game?

Would you like to see watcher and the new raid and new instances made more doable by normal players or do you prefer them to be for the hardcore?

Would you like to see instances and raids designed so deaths and wipes...and especially one-shot deaths..were not quite so prevelant...so death was preventable by heroic action and not considered normal anymore to have multiple deaths as a part of the "learning process" or random?

Would you like to see all recipes (except Guild) be made tradeable? Do you think crafted items should be close to the top, or do you think Raids should yield very superior items or do you think the books and other quests should yield top equipment? Or all three yield close to the same quality?

(actually, I'd like to see you guys have a regular poll at log in instead of these, so no one can say this is not representative of the general population) Hey....LOTS of players are upset with the game right now, it's not just the forum guys...I've already seen a huge amount quit or drastically reduce loggng in over the months since Moria was about a month or two old.

    1) Pretty much anything that gives a seep boost (I'm just so sick of all the "Ping Pong" quests).

    2) Friends

    3)
    1) What can we do to improve the Destiny Point system?

    2) What can we do to improve the Kinship system?

    3) What can we do to improve the house decorating system?

My most favorite item has got to be the Hill Defender just for its look. Its the most unique 2-hand sword in existance on LOTRO. It hardly resembles any of the other models out.

I play LOTRO because of the game itself and the people I play with. Nobody told me to come, and I didn't see/read the movies/books and decide to play. If the game changes too much, or a better RPG comes out, I'm gone. I can always keep in touch with people, but there's no reason to play a game that isn't fun anymore.

Even if you asked these questions, you probably wouldn't do anything about your game based on the answers. Still...I'm a hopeful person...

    Question 1:
Which class do you think is the least significant as of right now, and why?
    Question 2:
What is your most/least likeable aspect of the Legendary Item system? Why?
    Question 3:
What is do you think is the best/worst change to the combat system from SoA to MoM?

    1. A cosmetic outfit I wear (it's actually armour, but low level so on me it's cosmetic), that I was tickled to find a friend of mine wears also. My female elf minstrel and her female hobbit hunter made up a storyline to explain why we dress alike. I am not in-game so I don't remember the name of the outfit.

Edit: coincidentally, it's the outfit Briarflower is wearing in this post:

    2. I can't remember how I heard about LotRO, but what made me extremely interested in playing it was a YouTube video of someone playing "Dust in the Wind" on the docks in Celondim. I loved the amazing immersive graphics, the cool music system, and the cat that wandered in and out of the frame while the song was being performed.

    3. What could be changed to make you want to help lower-level characters with their quests?

My answer to number 3 has really been on my mind lately. Since I am all about getting xp for my LIs now on my level 60 character, I never want to help anyone with grey mobs any more. If I could get a rune for my LI or something as a reward (say, trading in some marks for them), that would make me more interested in helping low-level characters. I need to make sure you aren't way ahead of me on that though, maybe you already thought of that. But I see groups pleading for help quite often, so the question is still a valid one.

    LotRO rocks! Thank you Turbine!

    Question 1
What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?
Helm of Thranduil (which incidentally I cannot wear on my main character due to it being heavy armor ). I like it for the name and also the description. I would love to see more items related to the homelands of our characters

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?
Been an avid fan of the books since the age of 8 and I was steered here via a friend who let me know about open beta

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?
What alternative to the current end-game would you like to see?

It's a tie between Dulcimer Musical Cracker (the BB code won't work for this. ) and [Supple Bow] (which doesn't appear to be in the Lorebook). I love hitting my musical cracker and having someone in the vicinity answer me. It still tickles me. I haven't taken it out of my bag since I got it the first year they were introduced. As for the supple bow, I found one of these during Moria Beta and it turned into a bit of a dirty joke that still makes me giggle, so once I found one in the live game, I had to keep it in my bag too.

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?
Well, my husband started playing in the Alpha stages of the game and I would sit with him and watch him play. I started getting to know a few people that he kinned up with and would log on and cook for him while he was at work and was persuaded to take a buddy key and create my own account. My love of the books certainly helped. I can't imagine playing any other MMO that would be able to hold my interest as well as this one.

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?
Ooh, that's a toughie b/c I haven't really been following the thread to see what all has been asked. I may have to come back to this!

p.s. I've decided this entry hates me. It just keeps throwing random quotes in where I don't want them. I go back and delete them and they mysteriously appear again. It's a quote conspiracy.

Answer 1: My favorite item is the Blue heavy shield with a picture of a ship sailing on it, I think... forget the name. Love it for the cosmetic look.

Answer 2: The books and the Movies, I love them both; I'm just generally a big Lord of the Rings fan and as soon as I heard they were making an MMO for it I had to get into this and leave world of warcraft.

    1. Favorite item has to by the bunny mask my burglar wears. Looks quite proper for a hobbit to wear. Festivals are a great part of the game.

    2. Seems I am not uncommon for having previously avoided MMOs, but love Lord of the Rings, so had to make an exception for this one. I had played the early LOTR games made by Interplay and they had a ton of stuff that felt just right, and this one definitely got everything right so far.

    3. Questions to ask: How has your kin changed since Moria came out? What can we do to re-unite the community and kinships? What instances/quests/Bk chapters bring back the best memories?

    Question 1
What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?

For some reason I always get a kick out of the Blood-stained Tally Stick. Probably the dirtiest thing in the game if you think about it.

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?

Actually my computer did. I bought a new Dell XPS laptop and it came with the free trial. But the books is the reason I kept playing and Turbines attention to the environment and lore detail is why I stayed.

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?

Which next quest level range or area needs the next revamping as was done with the sub-20 quests? My answer: 30-45. Soooo painful. I have 3 characters stuck in that range.

    Question 1
What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?

My current favourite is my Summerdays fireworks. Seriously, fireworks on demand? Awesome! When I'm done being happy with that, my next favourite items are probably my rings of tactics. I'd love to see more specialized gear, like Bracelets of ICPR or Earrings of the Caster (with bonuses to tact and ICPR, for example).

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?

The books, mainly, and somewhat the movies, because I've been around since the old MEO days, and none of my friends were gamers at the time. Most of my in-person friends are still not gamers, but I've made lots of close friends in LOTRO

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?

    1. If you could have either dressers in your house that were functional and held cosmetic items, OR a separate vault in the bank for cosmetic items, which would you choose?

    2. Would you be interested if we offered additional bags or vault space for purchase that were specifically for crafting materials and optional items?

    3. List three additional reputation rewards (with any faction) that you think would be valuable to the game.

I can't say I have a favorite but right now I'm really enjoying the reusable Summerdays firework. I'm also a big fan of the outfit system and all the pretty dresses my cute little hobbit has to wear, keep up the good work. I also love the description for the ale in the LL that says something to the effect of "There are many fine brews in Middle Earth, this is Not one of them." I LOL when I first read it.

My fishslap emote and my Lothlorien Reputation Tunic. I love that mainly as not that many people want to waste leaves and branches on clothing and also as it hides the goddamn ugly radient armour I am forced to wear.

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?
The free demo. I joined up on the first day previously having played other games. Once in I loved the slow progression and the sense that a race to the cap was not the aim of the game, that the fun was in the journey. Something went wrong though Oh well, LoTRO will do until I find another game that isnt now just focused on Raiding.

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?
You are given the chance to buff/nerf/add one skill for one class. What one skill would you add/change and why? (No cheating and putting up three suggestions!)

60 Captain (KSM Woodworker) - 60 Hunter (KSM Jeweller/SM Cook) - 3x Guardian (KSM Scholar) - 2x Loremaster (KSM Tailor) - 7 Warden (KSM Weaponsmith)
2 Toons to 60 and I don't think I can stomach another level up. Left to play WoW

    Question 1
What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?

Stats wise the Hammermark cloak was the best item, I felt someone put thought into it for the stealth class. It had + stealth, +evade, might, agil, vit, and +stealth detection. The stat amounts are far to low for moria but it was the stats included that made the item great in SoA. Moria stealth gear was definetly disappointing.

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?

    Combination of books and movies.

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?[/QUOTE]

Do you feel there is a lack of variety in endgame gearing and builds? Would you like the BPE/crit caps removed/increased, to allow for more variety in player builds?

How would change the Legendary system to make it less of a lottery and grind.

What "incentive" to PvP would you like added to the free peoples side?

As a hunter it's my bow. I was able to buy a great lvl 58 2nd Age bow in AH very early for cheap money. It now went up to 40 and I won't put it away until I might lay hands on a 1st age AND it's 50.

    1. Item, would have to be the horse, like its appearance, though would like to see some things like armor available, posssibly a decorations tab or appearance tab like our characters have, and would like it to have saddle bags, its odd that it takes up a space in my inventory when it should be adding to my inventory. Speed of the normal horse should be equal to slow rental horse, since supposedly they are the same horses. Would like to be able to change its (my horses) name.

    2. I have read the books, I own the extended editions of the movies, but it was actually someone complaining about the dirth of PVP and the lack of gear snobbery, in a discussion about the developement of another MMO, that initially egged me to try LOTRO.

    3. Do you feel that taking skills away from players is a justifieable way to make an instance more difficult, or more intellectually challenging?

My Harvestmath horse. I just like the way it looks.

    Question 2

I am not a LOTR fanatic, though I love the stories. I came because the game was PvE-centric and casual friendly.

I'd ask how interested in crafting the players are and if they would like to see the crafting system get more attention.

My favorite for appearance is probably my new legendary mace on my minstrel - I normally get very ugly-looking, ineffective-looking weapons, but this one looks like an actual mace! It's got the plus-shaped head similar to this:

    Mace

The only downside to it is that the head is MUCH too big, but I'm taking what I can get at this point.

In terms of stats, my favorite item is probably the Miner's Trinket that my champ uses - one of the few good Champ jewelery items out there.

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?
None of the above. I actually hated the books (I've got a long argument as to why that is for anyone who is interested), the movies were "ok" and I didn't really have any friends here. What ultimately brought me here in the first place was that the game was in the $10 bargain bin at the store, and I figured "well, it comes with a free month of play, so why not." So I bought it and played for a month, and just completely fell in love with the Champion class, the quests, and the look. I left for many months to go do other things after that first free month, but something in the back of my brain kept telling me to come back, and finally I couldn't resist it any more.

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?
You know, you've asked that one before.

How about "If we had another Design contest in the near future, what would you like to design and why?" - to which I would say "armour" because the currently available armours all look kinda dumb.

I do not know the englisch name for it.

The Forester's suit. Looks really nice.

    Question 1
What is your favorite item in game? Do you like it for its stats, appearance, or name?

I like the Level 60 First Age 1H Sword design for the champ. It looks really cool and reminds me on the good old Hill-Defender which has also an awesome design.

    Question 2
What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?

First the Books and the Movies. I heard of it after the first movie was out and then decided to give it a try. Try, because my best friend started playing WoW at its release and I refused to play MMOs since I found it not interesting. Once in Beta, I was really overwhelmed of the online conversion of the places written in the books and shown in the movies.

    Question 3
If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?

It would be: "Do you feel that the current class balances (tactical vs. melee vs. range) are right? If not, what would you change?"

    * I like several, but the most fun is a huge barrel of beer that I saw in a kin house once.

What brought you to LOTRO? The Books? The Movies? Friends?
I like the books a long time, and I love RPG games online when I discovered this game almost had a heart attack from excitement

If you were in charge of making next week's questions, what would you ask?
What do you think is missing in Lotro?
