Thread: Mercenaries Guild

The Mercenaries Guild is a friendly, adult kinship that is actively raiding, and is focused on completing end-game content. We owe our success to our dedicated members, and we work to help each other improve. While our main focus is raiding, we retain many casual players and have fun doing a wide variety of content.

The Mercenaries Guild is Co-lead by Emeryl and Baramir, and we have a plentiful supply of helpful officers. We are a Rank 10 Kinship, with a Kin House located at 1 High Road in Risemead, a private Ventrillo server, and our own website with forums and a raid planner. We currently run multiple DN and Watcher runs each week, along with learning BG, and have been trying to add more runs as we grow.

We’ve recently set up a DKP system, but we try to keep our rules reasonable. If you’re looking to advance your character(s), help others do the same, lay the smack down on some raid bosses, and have fun in the game world, the Mercs might be a good place for you. I am in a rank 10 guild as well. Most of our members have gone. Do you mind if I ask how many active members you have?

Well, I don't usually reply this quick, but I'm at work and bored out of my skull! During peak times on evenings and weekends we tend to have 15-25 people logged on. And we just started a new website so existing members were encouraged to sign up (new members have to sign up) and so far 70 people have signed up on the forums. Throw us a tell in-game if you want to come along on an instance run and see how insane, er, nice, we are.

Quick question if you don't mind me asking. I am looking for a new kinship as the kin i just left, that I had been in since I started playing LOTR seemed to be heading down-hill. And lacked what for me is very important(regular scheduled events). Being a single parent father my game time is highly valued and I have to make the best of what time I do get. Anyway sry leme get back on track here... oh ya I was just wondering if your kin has regulary scheduled events or like a monthly event schedule? I know that things always happen in game as far as putting spur of the moment stuff together but I realy need a kin where I can kind of plan certain times to be on to do stuff be it raids, instances, questing or just helping each other out.

Just wanted to say to anyone out there kinship hunting, I have traveled through about 5 kinships on Windfola looking for that "Perfect Fit" and have found my home with the Merc's. This is a bunch of very active, very skilled, and very knowledgeable and friendly people. You can ask questions, and not get treated like a fool, there has not been a night gone by in the two weeks I have been with them that there was not at least one raid. They have found that fine line between hard core and casual and that makes for a good time for everyone.

Just a little bump to flaunt our greatness!

Just a bit of an update. We currently have taken down the Watcher a few times and are fine-tuning our strategy but we are in need of more folks that enjoy raiding and that can commit the necessary time to put in the raids.

We also have started working on DN so anyone that is looking to do some of these raids and learn them before Mirkwood comes out is encouraged to apply.

Hey Mercs; I know one of your officers has contacted me about joining you for raids and I just wanted to let you know that I just got my last piece of non-watcher rad gear (have the non-watcher helm and shoulders) so I'm ready for that. I'm currently a member of Light of the Eldar and I plan on staying that way while we try to get our feet back under us; the summer kinda took the wind out of our sails. However, I would like to get into turtle, watcher and DN raids so if you need a LM who knows how to play his class look me up.

For those wanting know a bit more about our raiding we currently run two FULL DN runs a week. One on Saturday evening and the other is on Monday for 3hrs, then the rest Tuesday night. We also do the Watcher twice a week minimum generally Wednesday and Thursday.

We are making our ways through the new raid and hope to have that down in a fair amount of time.

Those that have a interest in raiding please apply we are looking for about 8 players so who knows you could be one to fill some of our gaps.

We have decided to open recruitment again. We are currently looking for active players that have a desire to raid. The classes we are in need of are (2) Lore-Masters, (2) Rune-Keepers, (2) Burglars, and (2) Minstrels.
We primarily raid DN on Saturdays and Mondays (both nights are full runs start to finish).
BG we are making our way though and are looking for bodies that want to learn this exciting content with us.

A few other things I'd like to mention: All of our raids are scheduled on our web-based raid planner so you can see when the raids are and what classes/roles are available for signup very easily. While we do prefer those with raiding experience, it is not required. However knowing how to play your class is. We can teach you what you need to know for the raids, that we can do.
