Re: Gift Giving, Payments on Friends' Accounts and Manual Points Purchases
is there a way for nonmembers to gift to members like my parents gifting to me but as a surprise because they dont like doing it if i know it like if they do it infront of me
Re: Gift Giving, Payments on Friends' Accounts and Manual Points Purchases
Well, your parents can call with their card number to do a single payment without adding the card to the account. They will need your username so the Support guys can add the points to the right account.
Alternatively, they can buy you Point cards (sold at many places that sell video games) which you can add to the account yourself. They can also buy a reloadable pre-paid credit card (or add money to the re-loadable card) so you can add the points yourself.

Re: Gift Giving, Payments on Friends' Accounts and Manual Points Purchases
I don't know if this is the right place or not, so i'm sorry if it isn't.
Well, i have a question about something, I want to buy the Isengard expansion but i don't have any credit card but if a friend can pay me the expansion in the billing information i have to put all my friends information or my information?
thanks and once again sorry if it isn't the right place to post this.
Re: Gift Giving, Payments on Friends' Accounts and Manual Points Purchases
Isengard is purchased through our authorized retailer, Digital River. They are actually a separate company. If your friend wants to buy Isengard for you, they can process the purchase with their own log in and card information, then email the product key to you.
You'll then put the product key on your account (be sure you agree to upgrade, then pick "Game Card", then "I don't have one, I'll give you one later" for the payment options during the upgrade). As long as your friend doesn't put his card on your Turbine account, you will be all set.

Re: Gift Giving, Payments on Friends' Accounts and Manual Points Purchases
No, they should not need a Turbine account. Purchases from the Turbine Store are handled by Digital River (a third party). Part of the checkout process is to make an account with them (if you don't already have one), which is just email and password, and then name/address/phone and card number for payment information. Digital River then emails the key(s) to the email address provided (as well as it being on the purchase confirmation page). There is no tie between the purchase and any Turbine account.

Re: Gift Giving, Payments on Friends' Accounts and Manual Points Purchases
Don't know if this was asked before, didn't feel like reading through 4 pages lol, Is there a way to buy the pre-paid 60 day cards from local stores? I've been playin lotro for about 3 years now, always have been buying VIP that way, and rescently ran out of time so i thought i'd buy a friend a card, too. but, my local Best Buy (West Coast) that i always go to doesn't sell them anymore... is it all just virtual purchases now? or does turbine sell pre-paid cards still? If yes, where might i have better luck? thanks :)

GTCs can be purchased from our Online Store (managed by Digital River). They take a wide variety of payment options, which may vary depending on your location.
In some cases GTCs can also be found in local stores, but they aren't common, so we recommend calling ahead unless you're headed there anyway. You may be able to ask if they can order more.

I see 60 days and 12 month options. Didn't you used to sell 30 and 90 day GTCs? Both of those are periods you sell subscriptions for, and decent blocks of time to gift (as well as I'd assume pricepoints.)
..Depending of course on your overhead with Digital River.
Re: Gift Giving, Payments on Friends' Accounts and Manual Points Purchases
GTCs have been previously been available in a variety of lengths, but were not always available on Digital River. I will certainly pass along the request for other lengths of GTC to be available from Turbine's Digital River Store.

Re: Gift Giving, Payments on Friends' Accounts and Manual Points Purchases
Hi Victorie, I want to gift turbine points to a friend, but i havent got his account information.
In http://store.turbine.com/store/turbi...Page.lotropage
I chose to buy the 1550 tp, and then i must complete the information account, the billing information and the credit card number,
But my question is:
The billing information, is mine or my friend? if i put my information account, can i give him the code to win the tps in his account?
Both of us have accounts in lotro, but in the information account needs to verifie the mail and the pasword twice, what i need to do? cause its seems that i am creating a new account and i dont need it.
I need only to gift the 1550 turbine points in an existing account that is not mine.

elfo5278,
When purchasing Turbine Points from the link you provided, you will want to enter your billing information. The purchase is going to provide you with a 25-character Turbine Point code. That code can be redeemed on any account. Once you have it, you can just give it to your friend.

Re: Gift Giving, Payments on Friends' Accounts and Manual Points Purchases
Are the point cards purchased: http://store.turbine.com/store/turbi...Page.lotropage give you the same amount of points as if purchased myself. For some reason I have a US credit card but APO mailing address and cant purchase turbine points from my barracks in S.Korea. I purchased some Game stop point cards but pay $25 dollars for 1200 points is crazy, cant remember what the actual number of points I got were but considerably less than if I purchased them from the store.
How can I purchase points directly from Turbine if you decline my paypal and creditcards which are all in good standing and address are correct?

If you are in South Korea, and trying to use a credit card with a US APO address in the LOTRO Store, you are going to run into one of Turbine's fraud checks. Contact Account Support, be either filing a ticket or calling directly, and they will take a look into this for you. Contact information is in my signature.

Re: Gift Giving, Payments on Friends' Accounts and Manual Points Purchases
I have been a "F2P" for the past several months. A friend of mine has just bought me a 60 day card for VIP access, which was sent by email, however I can't access it with the key that I put to unlock it. I receive the following error message "The Product Key you entered is not valid for use. If you believe this is an error, please contact Turbine Customer Service by visiting support.turbine.com. [err: 30022]"
Re: Gift Giving, Payments on Friends' Accounts and Manual Points Purchases
The GTC code is not the same as a Product Key code. They are entered in two different places. From the error you are getting it sounds like you were trying to add the GTC to the Product Key field. After logging into your Turbine account, there should be a link to "Add Game Card" that you should use. It is under the subscription information section. If you have more than one subscription on the account there will be a link under each and you will need to use the link for the subscription you want to apply the GTC to. If there are any problems you can contact Account Management to get it taken care of.

Re: Gift Giving, Payments on Friends' Accounts and Manual Points Purchases
Just bought some points (1550) via the Digital River store and the code I have been sent is "other". Now that doesn't sound like the kind of 25 digit code I need to be reedeming!
There are no e-mail address options for contacting anyone to resolve this and I'm in the UK so calling a phone number and hanging on the line all night isn't an option.
I only purchased via this method because using the store to purchase points now crashes the game client (all last week the transactions via paypal just turned the store into a black screen).
Can someone please look into both these issues? You have done everything just short of writing "buy points" on our character's foreheads but the options to do so don't seem to be working properly at the moment.

Re: Gift Giving, Payments on Friends' Accounts and Manual Points Purchases
I had the same issue. Wanted to buy a GTC to extend a gift subscription that I bought for a friend.
Paid $99.99 for the 12-month GTC from Digital River, but didn't get the code in the e-mail (just said "other") and the website just reported an error when I tried to view my invoice online.
No response to my ticket from account support in 11 days, and now my friend's VIP has expired, so I doubt I could apply the gift time code now even if they finally sent it.
I'd be very cautious about buying anything from Digital River. Right now it looks like I'm going to have to contact my credit card company to try to get the charges reversed.
Re: Gift Giving, Payments on Friends' Accounts and Manual Points Purchases
Ok, i just want to make sure how things work. I'd like to buy the Legendary Isengard pack for a friend for her B-day. Now, i'm presuming I'll get a code send to me via e-mail which I just give to my friend then? The code must probably applied on myaccount then right?
If the process is somewhat different can you please tell me?
Re: Gift Giving, Payments on Friends' Accounts and Manual Points Purchases
Sorry for the delay. That is exactly the process. The product key will be emailed to you, and you apply it to your account by logging into the Account Management website. If you do run into any issue during the process, please contact the Account Management team. They will be happy to help

How long does it take receiving an email, after purchasing a gtc?
I bought 2 12-Month GTC (girlfriend and me) 3 hours ago and did not receive an e-mail yet, is this a normal behavior of the system?!
Where can I check my purchase order status? I mean I provided an E-Mail address and a password, but for what? As far as I understand, this information are independent from my lotro account information.
In fact I am really confused right now - didn't receive an error nor a success mail/message.
In case you guys are wondering why I'm looking at buying from the above site, I plan to purchase a single month vip for a in-game friend and the above site is the only site that does (turbine site min 60 days vip). I renewed my 12 mth vip at the turbine store and have not used the above site before.

As you posted at the start of this thread, I followed your instructions by calling to order the Rohan expansion for
my son. They told me to go to Rohan.Lotro.com and click on the one I wanted. They said that I would receive an email with a product code, which I could give to my son. Is this correct?
Since I have already bought my edition, will doing so give me two?
Thank you for your response
I want to buy the Steed of the Loremaster for my wife
how exactly do I contact customer support, so that I can pay with my own TP and having the steed granted on her account/character?
is it even possible to gift something with your own TP?
cheers!
TP are bound to the account/subscription, so you can't use those to buy an item for another. However, you can purchase the TP for your wife's account and she can use those to get the item. Contact information is in CarpeNoctem's signature above (most of the blue/green names signature have it).

When you place the order just double check the quantity shown. That's how many keys will be sent (and how many you are charged for). Update the quantity if it's wrong. The keys are not account specific, and in fact Digital River (the operator for the Turbine Store) has no information about your Turbine account or which it will be used for. So you can buy one for your son and they just have to log into their Turbine account and add the key.

I'm really confused about the concept of these game time cards. I have a VIP account (which i just canceled my subscription this month since i'm spending most of my time playing ACIII :0) but my girlfriend has a free account. I went to a store to buy her a game time card but all they had was turbine point cards (i still don't understand why I can't just use a turbine point card to pay for a subscription, logic tells me if you make it harder for people to give you money, you'll make less money). From what I'm reading on the various places that explain the online game time cards, it seems like it's saying that the game time cards will only work on active accounts? So I'm assuming that since she has a free to play account, I can't just buy here a 60 day game time card. I'm really confused about all of this. I just want to buy my girlfriend a subscription to this.
I used to be able to purchase Tp in lotro store by using online banking, since RoR, I have been unable to do so although the option is still there in store, is there a problem with this?
