Volume II: Book 7 Lorebook Update Feedback
Aylwyne, Duwis, and the rest of the Turbine Web team have outdone themselves again with a massive update to the Lorebook. Along with bug fixes and feature enhancements they have added added several new features including auto-complete in the search field and a new exciting interactive map!

Re: Volume II: Book 7 Lorebook Update Feedback
I was hoping this would fix the characters who transferred servers who do not have forum signatures and are no longer visible in the leaderboards but it didn't. ETA when this will get fixed please?

Re: Volume II: Book 7 Lorebook Update Feedback
Interesting changes guys! The interactive map is nice even if the controls are a bit clumsy. It's also kind of tough to find something if you don't know its exact name. If it was a proof of concept, I must tell it's a great idea. Even more since all the quest will now be properly documented for the quest guide. Will you guys be able to use these info in the Lorebook?
Good job.. I'd really like to follow the lorebook development more.

Re: Volume II: Book 7 Lorebook Update Feedback
Nice, I love lorebook, it keeps me entertained and helps me research stuffs :-)
I still have one problem with lorebook that I would like to see addressed. The stats on lots of the items are wrong and I would love to see them updated, to help me compare things with confidence!
Example:
http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Armou...;s_Breastplate

And then some things are right...
http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Item:..._Steel_Earring

I dunno how lorebook works, but it seems to have a different source for it's data than the game!?
Thanks for all the updates in the lorebook, i will use them all I can!
Cheers,
~Aramir

Re: Volume II: Book 7 Lorebook Update Feedback
Any chance some people could get a heads up of when format changes are made to the leaderboard? I don't like waking up in the morning and having my stats off by a few hours because a link was added in the name spot and you decided to change the header on the level column from Level to Lvl

Re: Volume II: Book 7 Lorebook Update Feedback
Captains skill list is missing "Withdraw," "To Arms," "Time of Need"...again.
The level 58 captain class quests are messed up. You've got two for one of the quests (one of which is obviously an error), and one missing.Captain Svanhvit ~ Burglar Svantje

Ummm, can't seem to get to the lorebook at all right now. IE just spins and spins, but never brings up the page.

Re: Volume II: Book 7 Lorebook Update Feedback
Foxfire 3.0.5 does the same thing. Getting a Page Load Error message:
Redirect LoopNote that this only happens when I'm logged into the forums. When I'm not logged in, I can get to the Lorebook fine. Cookies being accepted, tried deleting cookies (no difference). Only since the single sign on feature was added.
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
The browser has stopped trying to retrieve the requested item. The site is redirecting the request in a way that will never complete.

* NOTE: If accepting the site's cookies does not resolve the problem, it is likely a server configuration issue and not your computer.
BTW, as for the new changes to the Lorebook -- they look good. Auto-complete search is nice, used it several times already. Saves typing everything out only to find out you're searching for the wrong form of the word. I especially like that it breaks it up into categories for you. Overall, very well done...

Re: Volume II: Book 7 Lorebook Update Feedback
Yes, there is an obscure bug affecting certain types of usernames. We're aware of it and are looking to push out a fix shortly after the server move. We'll keep you updated.
EDIT: We have a work around for the issue; if you log out of the forums or my.lotro, you can then go to the Lorebook. Once at the Lorebook, log into the Lorebook, and you will be signed into the Lorebook and all other sites as normal. Again, we hope to have the permanent fix ASAP allowing you to log into any of the three sites and navigate between them without issue.Last edited by Duwis; Mar 28 2009 at 05:26 PM.

I was getting the same thing, but deleting all of my LOTRO cookies cleared it right up.

Re: Volume II: Book 7 Lorebook Update Feedback
The new autocomplete feature is great when you need it, but I don't like being forced to use it. Now, when I type something in I have to wait for it to stop loading the suggestions, then click off of the search box itself just to remove the suggestions, and then click back inside the search box before I can even hit enter on my search words! It is fine when I want to use it because I don't know the exact name or don't know exactly what I am looking for or where it should be found, but when I type in a word and hit enter, the autocomplete interferes and sends me to a page that I don't even want to go to and I have to do it again. For example, if I type "strawberry" and hit enter, instead of giving me ALL the pages with "strawberry" in it, it sends me directly to "Quest:Strawberry Dessert-wine - Introduction" and that is it. Well if I wanted that page, I'm sure I would have used the autocomplete feature to get to that page, but to be sent there just because autocomplete wants to send me there is really annoying! It makes me prefer to go to wiki now more often to search just to avoid this. Can this be changed? I don't see wiki's autocomplete forcing me to go to some page I didn't ask for, why does Lorebook do it?

On the Quenching a Thirst, in Ered Luin, quest, there is a bug where there is no way at all to interact with the thickets underneath the bridge.

Re: Volume II: Book 7 Lorebook Update Feedback
Hi ChrisGunny,
This forum is for discussion of the LOTRO Lorebook (wiki). However, I completed the quest you mentioned just yesterday with no problems. There's a second set of thickets at the end of the river, too. If it says you're too far away, click a bush and then type /follow to approach it. If you're still having problems, you might want to try canceling the quest from your quest log, and picking it up again.
If you need help in the future, you can ask in the /advice channel in-game, or in the Quests forum here. (If you can't post in that forum, you could also try the Free-Player Assistance forum.)Founder of the Better Biscuit Bureau, 4 Brookbank Street, Bannockbury, Brandywine.
