Hullo thar! Returning player here, tried the game a few months when it came out, and got sucked in again by the $10 weekend deal. Enjoying it so far, made it to level 20 (Undying, woo!). Originally I played on Brandywine, but I've moved to Gladden 'cause a few people I know IRL are here. Look me up if you need something filled with arrows!
Wife and I have returned!. Logged on got a surprise level boost, proceeded to look at hotbars and go ... OK, how does this work again?. It was a pleasant surprise to find people going around interacting again. Some of the GLFF has gone down hill, but, overall nice change from THAT other game we had been playing for a while.
Hoping to stick around a bit longer at it this time, my eyes still hurt a little, possible to change the size of some of the windows and keep the res?.
Hi! I am new to LotRO after playing WoW for almost 2 years now. I am enjoying finding everything that LotRO has to offer. I just purchased a subscription with the $9.99 special that was being offered, after only having the trial account for 2 days. A little bummed to see you can only attach 1 item per mail for when I need to send items to my other characters, however I am looking forward to purchasing a house when I am able to and sharing a chest with all on my account.
I look forward to meeting people, it has been lonely so far except for when my husband gets on his trial account and plays but it may be a while before he purchases his own subscription (we are still paying for WoW).

Welcome Nice to see another husband-wife duo! My guy and I play together and I totally get what you mean by lonely without the other. As for sending items. I think turbine incorporated some system where you can share items through one bag. I think it was the adventurer's pack..? You can also invest in a home and it's account owned so all your characters have access to the storage chests in the home, so you're on the right path there.
Hi! Yeah I saw the adventurer's pack subscription but am not able to get that just yet. I currently have 150 silver saved up towards the 1,000 that I need LOL. Im trying not to rush through quests, and have been reading about how to do traits and what "stats" I should be looking for since that is quite different from WoW but Im enjoying looking up what I need to know.
I was doing the stomp a shrew game yesterday and a dwarf came in I think it was and started playing an instrument - the music was really pretty and that is what I am really enjoying about this game...the beauty in things we are able to do. The animation when making a jewel, setting out the whole table with jewels and supplies - really really stunning.
Im very much enjoying LotRO for the game, now I need some socialization along with it =) So if you see Telenia or Telarwyn on (so far those are the two Im playing the most, though I may start a hunter with Tel something in the name lol), feel free to say Hi! ^_^

I play a RK also and I'm not the best out there (lol) but if you need any help with anything look me up: Carlitas
Ah here it is, the introduction thread!
Well, born in Argentina but i live in Panama City currently, i'm rarely in the same place for more than 2 weeks but here's where i live tho, i travel alot for work and pleasure :P
My irl name is joaquin (most call me joaco), i'm 26 and 2 cats to feed
Ive played a bunch of online games, most of em pretty basic but very pvp, helbreath, metin2, RO, guildwars and a few other.
I started playing lotro in jan this year but got bored cuz i was playing alone cuz no1 where i live plays this game and my gf at that time used to hate it (that's why i had to dump her, JK lol). I'm now giving it a second shot and trying to understand the features and complexity of the game, i'm not really used to all of this metalworking, crafting, etc... its all new to me.
i have many friends here and there which i visited thanks to mmorpgs, that's one of the reasons i love online games.
Back again (actually was in beta and started on Gladden upon release I believe if not soon after if I changed ).
At least on other rl friend (lifetime) is back too. Settling in and starting up my loremaster once again. Never actaully got out of my 20's even previously but all set to get some real content mashing done this time around.
The biggest issue I had was the combat delay and that patched out a bit ago and I am liking the system much more now. I really am looking forward to getting through these books and story lines. I had my eye on a runekeeper or minstrel and pondered even playing my burg once again but I am pretty sure the loremaster is something I will enjoy most for now conceptually anyway.
Here's hoping the community grows with f2p and I hope I can meet up with some active players out there soon. We discovered we have long since been kicked from our old kinship.
Now to start grinding coin to unlock my house ....
Played LOTRO a couple months on launch, then again when Mines of Moria launched, now to return again thanks to F2P. Currently a lvl 35 Hunter named HOLDRIN, if anyone wants to bother me in-game feel free .
Holdrin - Lvl 35ish(depending on when I update this) Hunter
I’ve played a lot of MMO’s and finally decided to try LOTRO for a while. I’m a paying subscriber and current self described rookie to the game. After wandering around the other servers a little, I ended up making a go of it on Gladden because people were relatively nice and not too elitist for comfort.
I’m playing an elf champion and armsmen named Urudor. Currently L18.
I have been playing MMOs of one vintage or another since the days of TinyMUD. After years of WoW and GW I have come to appreciate the story more than the grind. At present I have a lvl28 hunter working through Lone-Lands, and will be here at least until GW2 comes out next year.
Hi to all Gladdeners, i've just recently joined the Lotro after testing in beta few years ago.
With the f2p in USA together with my brother we installed and well after few days we just decided to spend some money on it, we play from Europe which is in a limbo situation so we decided to continue our adventure here.
I tried to figure out if there is any casual oriented kinship of euro-players or with a good activity at evening europe time-zone, we are old...err mature players with several experiences in other mmorpg and we would like to spend some good time with other people for exploring the Middle Earth world.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give us.
I'm a returning Lifer. I didn't play much when I first started because I tend to focus on one game at a time, and at the time my hubby signed me up, my gaming life support was based on EQ2.
My first taste of MMOs was Diablo 2 (although that one isn't an RP), but was then followed by EQ. I was then lured into SWG (pre-NGE), but my love has always been the Fantasy genre, and when EQ2 came out, I dived in. It didn't help that SWG NGE happened at that same time.
EQ2 has, over this last year, made a number of changes that made me feel that my accomplishments were no longer what they used to be, and also with fewer and fewer friends logging in, ... well, I found it hard to continue.
I figured I should try LotRO again, as I now did not have anything forcing me to split my time, and so far, I'm enjoying it, although I really don't know many here yet.
I am initially shy, and have a hard time starting new friendships, but have been told I'm a good player in each of the other games I've attempted, so hopefully that will transfer to here as well.
I apologize in advance for having my fellowship invites turned off, but I've been burned too many times in the previous games I've played, that my rule is - Talk to me first, please! (It's easier to just turn it off rather than have to keep saying no to all the blind invites I encounter.)
I am new to LOTRO, my husband and I started playing recently. Really diggin it, we played FFXI for a long time until they decided to have horrible customer service.
hello im new to the fourms but ive been playing for a while im a lvl29 lore master im in eastern time but on the weekends ill be on at well theres no telling lol feel free to hit me up for anything gigger
Hello there! I'm an Asian girl gamer who's new to LOTRO. It's my first time in an international forum as well. I've been playing MMORPGs and console games since time immemorial, and had the luxury of playing for ungodly number of hours in the past. At the moment, I'm not able to spend so much time in the virtual world, although my work requires me to stay in front of the PC almost all my waking moment.
At the risk of sounding really destitute, I'm running the game in my old but dependable pentium4 desktop PC (512 ram, 40 hdd, 64mb gfx card). Hands down to my PC for being able to manage LOTRO (along with my country's ultra slow internet connection). It's one of my life's many miracles, if I may say. Lol.
I joined LotRO back at the launch of MoM, but cancelled my sub due to lack of funds and time. I came back in with F2P, but didn't really start devoting any time to the game until last month. Now I can say I'm hooked. Last month I went VIP and plan to stay there
I'm a table-top RPer, and love to RP, but I find my style doesn't translate too well via virtual chat + emotes. My game experience is mainly in the strategy games, concentrating on the 4E types (Explore, Expand, Exploit, Exterminate), so I tend to tackle objectives in any game with the same logical, puzzle-solving approach.
My main is an elf minstrel by the name of Reindert. Please take no offense if I'm not very talkative in game or fail to respond to invites of any kind. I'm not into pugs unless bored and I'll never acknowledge a blind prompt (let alone accept one). I picked minstrel because of the music system, though came to love the class on its own merits. I'm currently in the process of writing my own abc files (with assistance from my spouse, who actually knows about music).
Dhougan here. I like to smash kneecaps and be grumpy. Been playing MMOs for almost a decade now started out with FFXI, then SWG (pre-nge),then finally EQ2 for about 4 years (Echoes of Faydwer-Sentinel's Fate). First character is a guardian, thinking about maybe leveling a warden after I get my kneecap fix (big fan of dwarves here, something about 500 dwarves with packs as tall as they are on their backs double-timing to Thorin's aid seems awesome to me).

That would be awesome. The first time I saw a mounted group following each other (in walk mode) I was mesmerized...thought an NPC group had been added.
iam not new to gladden been member 2 yrs. but really just started playing last 2 weeks. wondering if someone can help me get to the lynx past the gate in refuge of edhelion. says i need per mission to ues. thank you
I'm not just new to LOTRO, but to MMOs of all kinds. So far, I can't seem to get the hang of the various chat channels-we won't even MENTION voice chatting, and I'm used to playing all my party members myself, so I'm afraid I will be epically failsome at fellowships. I'm gonna try to get all that sorted before I bring too many people down with me...
My main character so far is a hunter with the nonsensical name of Tinulelviel, and I have a hobbit burglar named LilyRose and an elf loremaster called Astarwen that I'm also working on. I might be an alto-holic...
Hints are welcome-speaking of which, Heather, you're in the intro, I assume? Try going back past the NPC you spoke to previously, and look to the right. There should be a path down to the Silverdeep mines, which is I think where you are trying to get.

Mmm... If you are in the starting zone, go around. The gate is just kinda there. If you have left the starting zone, go somewhere else. To the best of my knowledge there is absolutely nothing for you to do up there.
