Re: Sons of Numenor.
I registered on the website, and submitted an application 2 days ago. If I understand correctly, there seems to be a new policy of only allowing in new members once per month? Since my applcation was on the 2nd I also posted to the forum, asking if I could still be considered. I'd love to join, since it seems like a great group of people, but I really don't want to wait a full month to join.
No response to anything thus far. Hoping to hear from an officer, even if it's just "yeah, you'll need to wait a month if you want to join" so that I'd know whether to keep checking with Sons of Numenor or look for something else.
See you in-game!

Re: Sons of Numenor.
Odd I don't remember that being a new rule, but we do have many applicants everyday, and It does take a while to get to them all and get it through the application process. So it could take a while To get to you if you applied, but we work as fast as we can to get them done and get you in the kin. and If I recall I think you are in the application process Cirocco.

Re: Sons of Numenor.
I really appreciate the response, and hope to hear from the kinship soon. From the website it really looks like a great, and active, group of people.
Edit:
The once/month rule I'd referred to appears on a couple of places on the SoN website - for example, click the "How to join SON!" link.
"Effective 10/9/2010, Sons of Numenor is upgrading its recruiting policy.
Applications will be collected through our "New Member Application" and accepted applicants will be announced on the 1st of each month. Following this, accepted members should contact any officer in-game to be invited. You will then become a member of recruit rank. Please read the Member's Guide to learn more about the process."Geändert von Cirocco69 (Nov 05 2010 um 01:52 PM Uhr)

I am intruiged and interested by SoN's philosophy especially if it has 3 subkinships.. how's that work? If someone is interested, in giving me a boost in LOTRO- I am specifically interested in Paxe Numenor.

Re: Sons of Numenor.
My first memory of the Sons was watching a patrol of about twenty ride past my fellowship in Angmar maybe 3-4 years ago. One companion exclaimed "Those are the Sons of Numenor! Everyone on the server has a member there!" (Benjimir is still working on that). I next saw them an month later and received my first crafted Tailor's Tools at one of their open-air markets.
When I returned after a two year sojourn and found my old kin dormant, the Sons were still active and welcomed me in. I have found that the Sons are relatively jovial, and willing to help out lower level characters whereas the Numenorian Guard is more reserved but often partakes of the antics of our shared chat.
The worm population was on a steep decline in Moria with no explanation.

Re: Sons of Numenor.
Do members have to attend all events? I'm looking for a Kin and am "shopping around" lol.
basically are there any rules on game play attendance? besides the application process of going to 4 events and making a meet and greet?
or is it more like when people can play that's good enough.

Re: Sons of Numenor.
hey comstrike, before i apply i have a couple of questions, do you have to join one of the companion kins? because i saw none of them had my interest, i'm not very big on rp, it would take me months to get a char to 40(I suck at leveling:P), and i dont do freep mvmp, but i love doing the lower level instances, quests, the works, so what do i do?
What is the least played area(dps, tank, healer, etc.) in the kin?
Thank you for your time

Re: Sons of Numenor.
Excellent questions all.
No, there are no obligations to join any companion groups. Rather they are there for those whose style just commands the kind of focus and structure that say, heavy RP, or endgame life requires. Most play strictly within SoN itself, and you can still participate in Numenorean Guard's raids, or RP with our cast of "imposters" in Pax Numenore for example.
Since we always have new blood coming up the ranks, it is rare to not have folks leveling up as you go. And most of us dwell a lot in lower ranked areas being RP'ers too.
One can never go wrong with a healer, but any and all classes are welcome!Benjimir, Founder and Leader

Bounders often question him, just because they find him interesting.
He once grew an imperfect tomato, just to see how it looks.
His pipe alone has experienced more than a lesser Hobbits body.
His mushrooms grow in broad daylight.
If he were to mail a letter without an address, it would still get there.
He speaks fluent Sindarin, in Westron.
He would just walk into Mordor.
He is, the most interesting Hobbit in Middle-earth.

FAQ:
What is this about?
Since its foundation in 2008, Sons of Numenor has patrolled across Middle-earth in formation and uniform. Now we are sponsoring a monthly ride, open to all community members and Kinships to join.
Where does it start?
We will assemble at The Golden Perch, help those joining us get into formation, and begin.
Where does it go?
We will ride at walking speed, through Breeland, through Bree, and pausing at the South Gate, before continuing to The Forsaken Inn.
Then what is the Thunder Ride?
Sometimes you just can't drive 55. Other times you can't spend all night walking to Rivendell. Either way, we will take all able to join or continue with us, at a full-speed rush directly to The Last Homely House in Rivendell.
Then what?
We will gather about Rivendell for a modest fireworks show, and an afterparty of light RP, music, and fellowship in The Hall of Fire.
Do I need to RSVP?
No, but we would appreciate any larger groups attending to check-in, so we can plan for your presence.
Can I play music?
Certainly, we will organize the open stage for music in several corners of The Hall of Fire.
BYOB?
Pish posh, we shall supply ale and pipe-weed for all!

Those who may have known Shinarra, were saddened to learn of her passing today. A member of Lonely Mountain Band, Shinarra was a frequent attendee of not only events of Sons of Numenor, but many groups across Landroval. Although I did not have the chance to know her as well as others, she was a welcome part of our gatherings. I will share in our communities sense of loss. Her loss has stunned and deeply impacted many across LOTRO, and on the behalf of all of us among Sons of Numenor, I would like to convey my condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones.

While attending the 20th "Black Swamp Art and Music Festival" in Bowling Green, I learned of the loss of Shinarra. As part the first event in 1992, a community art project was created, which remains on display even today. For the 20th anniversary, another project was opened to the attendees to participate in. I choose to make what minor gesture I feel able to, by adding to the painting a small square in her name.Benjimir, Founder and Leader

Been looking for an active kinship and just moved my guy to Landroval because there seemed to be more of them there.
Reviewed this thread and have a question: it appears you have a uniform?
How active is your Teamspeak? Sorry, that was two questions ;-)
-
Sep 19 2012 09:43 PM #79
We have a uniform. Gold and black for recruits, black and black for members, black and red for officers. It isn't required except for formal gatherings, we are otherwise a casual group.
The teamspeak server is not obligatory for members, but since some of the games we play don't have voice chat, and since folks do stick together as one big family.Benjimir, Founder and Leader
