Thread: Men are the superior race...

Actually, Elves are leaving this world, not 'spreading like a virus". That's wholly the purvey of men.
the Elves are off to Valinor because they know the weak willed race of man will eventually destroy Middle Earth. Men will ultimately fail just as they did with the ring. It passed to yet another man who failed to destroy it due to his weak will.
Elrond saw the failure of man first hand and despite this he sent Elves to help defend humans against complete destruction by Sauron's forces. Your short memory is the curse of your short lifespan.
In the end though, it was the weak (as you call them) Hobbits who saved mankind. So be thankful and shut your ungrateful trap you ape descended, un-bathed, weak-willed sapien. The Elves got so sick of your repugnance they are leaving what was once a beautiful world to be turned into a stone and mortar cities and belching masses of weak willed greedy opportunists who spoil and ruin at every turn in the name of making a profit.
The Dwarves ... well, they are very similar to men in their greed. Still the are a step up from the lowest form of life on middle earth ... man.

Ape-descended? Now that's just not very nice, and such talk is really very unbecoming of someone who claims to be superior. It's worth noting that nowhere did you actually mention why, exactly elves are superior, just lots of stuff about why you feel Men are somehow inferior to everyone else.

It's folly to argue a race's superiority based on their resistance to the power of the one ring, for as Elrond tells the Council in Rivendell, the strength of its evil is altogether too great to allow anyone to wilfully wield it, save its master. Indeed, his wisdom is echoed in the Council's decision to destroy the ring in the fires of Mount Doom. Besides, we should all band together for the good of the Free Peoples and blame dragons. Those lazy, greedy, good-for-nothing, oversized lizards have really got it coming! (And I'm pretty sure in all their wealth none of them have been able to get hold of a computer, let alone learn how to type, so we don't have to worry about them trying to defend themselves on the forums.)

In truth, I think the lesson from the story of the Fellowship was that alone these races had no hope of survival. It was only when they banded and worked together that things were accomplished with any true success. Interestingly, read a Cracked.com article about what it would be like to live in any of these fantasy worlds. Their argument against middle Earth was segregation and subjugation. It was an interesting perspective that I had not thought of. My Elf btw has Kindred with the Men of Bree and the Wardens ... I just wanted to poke the OP with a stick

Just so I make sure I get this straight...The insatiable greed and lust for power for which men have become so notorious is causing elves to fly across the sea in droves, the dwarves are only marginally less guilty than men for the destruction of the land you hold so dear, we owe never-ending homage to the Hobbits and the Elves in their roles as the saviors of Men, but you're not implying that this makes Elves superior in any way, shape or form? That's a very interesting way of saying you find yourself to be on level terms with Men, my friend.

And in the same breath you'll tell me that every race had its own part to play in their own salvation, and that everyone was wholly represented in the Fellowship of the Ring, and that your bestest buddies are totally Men and so that doesn't make you a racist Elf at all. We could probably say this whole thread is designed for poking and prodding, but you should take care not to contort yourself so much while you do it, or you'll wind up with a kink in your back.

P.S. I still blame the dragons.

Men aren't superior, merely the only race that has not been majorly screwing up, and i despise the Numenoreans tbh, us normal men always have to clean up their mess and the elves mess. I mean just look at the Noldorians for Eru's sake! Stupid dumb fights all the time! Do away with elves.. everyone else is fine.. personally i love hobbits, and they are an offshoot of the race of man, or who knows maybe WE are an offshoot of them... Dwarves are great despite their sometimes greedy nature, they teach everything about crafts but their racial craft secrets, which is understandable.

BTW if you say Men are capable of greed, that is there because of Sauron... he uses the power of the ring to force the, it is of no fault of their own.

Bull, everyone knows hobbits are the most resilient and brave of all the races, when the time arises. The hearts of men are weak and easily corrupted, and they will eventually be the downfall of middle-earth. Try facing off a hoard of orcs when you are waist-high to them, THAT'S true bravery.

Are you talking about hobbits or dwarves? Because I'm pretty sure we dwarves have been doing that for a couple ages now. I mean, we were designed as pretty much a warrior/crafter race, made specifically to resist Morgoth.

I was comparing hobbits to men. We all know how tough dwarves are. Any race with bearded women has got to be tough. As you said, dwarves were made to be tough warrior types. Hobbits on the other hand are farmers by nature, so in my opinion when one rises up to become a hero, it's all the more impressive. Hobbits and dwarves should get along well too, since they both fit through little round doors well.

Elfs are good at art dwarfs are good at war and crafting hobbits are good at farming men are good at ............ i dont really know

The Elves and Dwarves were busy at that time fighting at Dol Guldur as we later find out. They had their own problems in the North to keep them preoccupied. Men did stand at the gate, which was foolish, but that was the point of their attack. Hobbits well I love all the races, but I think they were still in a perfect Shire at this point in time? They may be being oppressed by Saruman at this time, but I don't know. No race is supreme in my opinion.

You sound like a White supremacist, Nazi loving Racist. How sad theirs no race war between a Horse and a Zebra, or a horse and a donkey they all belong to the same family tree. Humans,Dwarves, Eves and Hobbits created by the light to live in light, Don't act like a ORC who lives in darkness and acts and dose the dark things of hate. All of the races have failed at one point in time.
Men-Are weak in general
Elves-the Noldar defied the Valar, started a war that lasted an age(literally), and killed their kin repeatedly.
Dwarves-Greedy, greedy greedy.
Hobbits-Not enought data, as only seven hobbits are described.

I think that all are equal, just each is different with different strenghts and weaknesses.

Though I'm not going to argue that Elves need to be gone, as I fully agree with that. They're too war-like!

"Some nice Wolves who're not bothering anyone are living there in peace? KILL ALL WOLVES!"
Etcetera.

Of course, us Dwarves also kill beings. But we do it for a purpose! We only kill Wolves because we need their fur to stay warm, we only kill Dourhands because unlike above examples, they're ALL bothering us. Etcetera. If one Hobbit or multiple Men were to capture our ruler, we wouldn't immediately want every single Hobbit or Men to go extinct like the Elves want in a similar situation! If some Hobbits or Men decided to live somewhere, we wouldn't ask someone to kill them all like the Elves would! Etcetera.
