We had kicked around how to organize our resources in a thread several months ago, and the proposal was to have 1 master sticky...and that is exactly what you've done

Below is a complete list of guides and useful threads, including the ones in Clover's post above, as well as other notable threads. As long as I draw LOTRO breath, I will take the time to maintain this list.

EDIT: I'm no longer playing LOTRO. As such, I am no longer maintaining the list below.

The thing I don't like about this is I cannot tell, at a glance, if one of the threads in this list has been udpated. Now I have to go look at each one.

Not a bad idea, just not automated enough...why not just make the sticky section collapsible? It's a Web 2.0 world folks

AFAIK, there is no bbcode for listing a thread's last updated date. If you know of a way to do it, I'm all ears

Just posting to announce that I just updated my HOT Healer's guide with new items and such. Alot of the items either aren't in the lorebook, or I was too lazy to locate them, so some of them still don't have links attached. Oh, and overall I tidied it up and replaced the "tactical crit modifier" things with "tactical crit damage."

hah, this was JUST updated.

So I just hit 50 on my Captain, looking for resources...forum pruning? There has to be more info out there than this, right? LOL like maybe something even MoM related? The DPS build is designed for level 45-50 looks like.

Anyway, anyone has any good guides/lists/threads to post that are more about the climb from 50 to 60 (or at least include it), please do.

I, too, would love to see some updated sources. The Captain Community has been rather quiet lately!

I'd love to see an update on the different builds. I'm trying to get myself to a point where I can fill whatever role is needed in a fellowship (particularly for the 3-man instances)

Your herald is always summoned at character level - 2. So, yes, it increases automatically regardless of the Armaments item level.

This thread needs some serious updating. Most of this stuff is out of date and does not really apply anymore and half of the threads are deleted by mods.

Like the captain pvp guide that was put up in 2008, pvp has changed drastically for captains since mirkwood that guide is invalid. It also is missing so thank goodness.

I put together a "advice for captains" thread on our kinship website.

Captains: Tips and Strategies

It is not the final word of course. Others may disagree with this or that and suggest some changes. But love the class and been at it for a while and have noticed that less people are choosing it.

Just want to say thank you to those who contributed to this thread, as a returning player who's new to the captain class (and who's been away so long that I feel new to the game) I've found it to be very helpful. I especally found the tips DarthKeryx had for low level captains to be helpful. Have to say I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the information, but right now I'm loving playing my captain.

Are there any updated links? A lot has changed for Captains since the last post on this thread, from what I can tell, not to mention most of the links are broken.

The Elborigorn guide is still pretty good, since it covers broad philosophy more so than specific trait combinations and skill rotations, but it would be nice to have an updated guide that does cover the details.

I check in every so often to make sure someone didn't **** up the formulas and stuff. Now I've implemented protected ranges so that should no longer be a problem. I can't get the protected ranges to work on the summary pages, Captain1 and Captain2, though. But you don't need to edit anything there anyway, it's just a summary page for the Calculations1 and Calculations2 sheets.

I opened it to editing, so feel free to mess around and play with your builds. If you have more item data to add, go ahead and add it (I am lacking the non-crit lvl 85 crafted gear, for instance).
