I'm kinda disappointed in the defiler apperances. They're all the same with different masks.

Dazzer, what are you using to clean up those photos? I noticed they have better, "real" coloring and nearly no anti-aliasing at all. I'd also be interested in knowing how you do that. I had GIMP on my old computer, but I could never get it to make my screenshots look that good. On my new Vista computer I can easily edit pictures with some of the Vista utilities but it still doesn't come out looking good.

Me too. I was hoping the staff might change as well, and that the skull might be different for every level, or at least have the skull change color. Compared to the amount of traits/appearances that other classes do it looks like the reaver was rushed to meet the demands of creeps who felt that having another healing class is going to change things in the moors (Which it isn't).

And the masks don't even match.

IMO, Defiler appearances beat the Reaver ones...you can't even tell the difference between lots of the reaver ones.

The images are untouched except they are shrunk to 75% or so from the original 1920x1200. I basically took the shots on a large screen with max LOTRO video settings then shrunk them a tiny bit with a generic image editing program. That's it.

You can't tell the difference between lots of the defiler ones too, lol. I can't even spot the difference between #2 and #3.

The color of the skin is slightly different, I think.

Is it just me or have all of the images except the defiler ones disappeared?

I look forward to 8 but IMO I think 9 looks much better. You'll be able to see the family resemblance between me and my hatchlings if/when I hit rank 9..../sigh such a loooooong way to go...

Gobblemoss looks really cool in her rank 8 carapace, especially if you zoom in close to her glowing eyes!

I can't even look forward to rank 9, as that seems so far away, but rank 8 will be nice!

I expect to reach 8 in just a week or two more. I only get to play 2-3 hrs a night (after the family has gone to bed), so I don't crank it out like others on my server. In fact, there are weavers that are as close to 8 as I am, but prior to book 12 were only 4 or 5. (they also play more than i do too lol)

i think my /played is around 1 month 2 weeks give or take a few days.

anyway, I do admit I tire of my current skin and at least can look forward to a change shortly.

it's hilarious how awful the defiler appearances look, I now don't feel that bad as reavers aren't necessarily the worst-skinned monster class.

I guess that means reaver skins won't ever be looked at, oh welll

I do wish they'd do a bit more with them. Like someone else posted; weapons could be shifted around a bit for different appearances at various ranks. Axes vs Swords vs clubs or the like. The staves for the Defilers could easily be enhanced to better looking versions.

That versus the random weapons. Hell, I've had a WL start a session with a sword, use certain moves and end up with a 1h axe part way through. Have WL's shields change a bit, start Reavers with plain swords then dressed up swords later on type gig would help a lot with appearances and probably wouldn't take much to "fix" the weapon versus randomizing it.

To be honest I'm more than a little dissapointed in how unimaginative the devs were with the creation of the defilers skin. Changing nothing but the mask from tier to tier just smacks of outright plain lazyness to me. I mean god, could they make it any more blatant that they didn't really put any thought into the skins for defiler, just wanted to slap a different mask on them per tier and call it a day? Oh wait, for r13+ they switched the order around a little, stuck on a cool dragon mask and guess thought it was original enough :/

Meh, I purchase every appearance rank and wear it with pride.

Correct me if I'm wrong as I've never played a reaver into any ranks...but don't the weapons change? I've seen screenshots from other players and the reaver weapons were different in pics at which they were different ranks. So maybe the overall appearance doesn't look a whole lot different, but the weapons do.

Could someone post "in combat" poses that show the weapons?

Weapons are random every time you log on, so I could have anything, can't choose, just completely random-makes no difference.

Sucks how Black Arrows have to run half naked till, i dunno, some nearly un-attainable rank =/

Actually, he is right. At R0, you can buy a skin, which I like to consider is the R0 skin. Then at R1, you get the R2 skin. Then when you get to R2, no new skin. Then at R3, you get R3 skin, and so on. Or maybe There really is just no new skin at R2.

Thanks for posting, these are great shots of progression. Definately beats using Destiny Points to find the right one.

cant tell if the images in the picture have one that looks like his, cool stuff.

Most of the Blackarrow appearances suck, and the last 4 Reaver appearances are laughable.

The Rank 15 defiler appearance makes them look like a heavily armored dinosaur LOL! Pretty awesome.
