We'd love to have you! There is usually an officer online - we have quite a few. "Prime Time" is the best time to try (about 7pm-11pm Eastern or so), but I'm an officer and I'm frequently on at various times during the day, every day. My toons are Dawnwen, Etos, Noumena, Norther.
You don't have to do anything other than contact an officer in game to get an invitation. To get full kins(wo)man status you should post an introduction on the www.hobonline.org forums in the LOTRO new member thread.
The House of Blackrock is still going after five years (less a month), still welcomes new members, and will ride into Rohan whenever the world expands a bit.

about us:
The guild’s goal is to meet and keep gaming friends. We offer a mature and friendly gaming environment. We are looking for active players who want to be a part of a very unique gaming community. We thrive because on-line gaming is more fun with the company and assistance of friends.
The House of Blackrock is a guild and gaming community that was established in 1996. We are a multi gaming guild with individual and respected Chapters in: WoW, GW, and, of course, LoTRo . Our members are always trying and testing new MMORPG’s, so we investigate those interest us as well. We have active forums.
Our membership age ranges from teens to sixties, and geographically spans the globe (although most are adults residing in the North American Continent). Most of us have jobs or college commitments and families, therefore we support the premise that real-life has priority over game-life, so power gaming isn’t required. What we aren’t and won’t tolerate are racists, bigots, flamers, “leet” gamers, or any such distasteful type of person.
We are members of the Windfola Alliance - an alliance created with other kins from the server - primarily, to form raid groups with several events scheduled weekly.

Looking for a kinship to join? Maybe other people to journey through middle-earth with you? Come join us at the House of Blackrock as we welcome new members of all races and classes.
Our kin has many people but not enough to often do raids HOWEVER, We are members of the Windfola Alliance - an alliance created with other kins from the server - primarily, to form raid groups with several events scheduled weekly.
The alliance also has a website, it recently changed so you'd have to get it from the House of Blackrock site. If you are a member of our kin you can join the alliance.
The kin is full of members that are willing to craft for other members. Noone charges but usually expects materials to craft. This is especially helpful when you go through scrolls, food, etc. at the rate you usually do in a raid.
Come check us out!
You can always send me a tell in game and I can send an invite.

Currently back in Lotro brought a friend with me this time
I am currently looking for a kin on Lotro, one reason I stopped playing a while back was because I missed the friendships that I had developed with my "guildies" from WoW. I am hoping to find that type of kin here on lotro and from your posts you seem to be. I will looking forward to hearing from you.
Sorry to be so long in getting back to you. Several of the officers have been on vacation or moving the past couple of weeks. If my list of reasons to join sounds like a good fit for you, then you sound good to us! If you send me your in-game character name I will put you on my friends list and throw you an invite when we're both on. Or you can register at www.hobonline.org/hobforums and post there and we'll be on the lookout for you.
We have had many new members join us this summer. We are always looking for more.

Hi Everyone,
The House of Blackrock is recruiting! We have seen many new players join us this summer. Maybe you would like to join our family too!
I say, "family" because that is the way I feel about our kin. I have played for several years and have made friends with people all across the country.
One of the things I like best about HoB is that we maintain our own forums, www.hobonline.org/hobforums. These provide a place for us to request help in quests or crafting. It helps us to form groups for instances. Many of us live in different time zones so we are not always on-line at the same time. These forums allow us to keep in touch with each other.
Hello again Everyone,
As always, the House of Blackrock is recruiting. If you would like to join an awesome kin, just scroll down to find more info or see our forums at www.hobonline.org. We hope to hear from you!

or I should say we hope to welcome you to our family!
We have members with characters of all races and classes. Our real life players range from teens to adults. Some people play for hours each day and others only hours each month.
Hi!
I have been in a small fellow that skirmishes together every week. We have been fellowing together for 2 years! We were able to discuss what times might work best, who had what type of soldier, and other skirmish related questions.
It was all possible because the House of Blackrock maintains its own forums.
If you are interested in a kin that stays in contact with its members, check us out at www.hobonline.org

The House of Blackrock is recruiting. We find the best recruits we get are those who find us via these forums. They seem to have researched what's available and have chosen HoB for many of the reasons here:

The Rohan expansion seems to have brought back many players we have not seen in awhile. Maybe you were one of the people that was inactive for a period of time and has returned to find your kin empty of players. Our kin is alive and Full of people but we ALWAYS like to have new members. Come join us if you want a new place to call HOME!
We also have lots of players below 75 or many of us (like me) have alts at various levels. Don't feel left out with players in Rohan but not you. We especially like to share our knowledge with other players. It might be in crafting or questing help.
House of Blackrock is still looking for good, mature (not to say old!) folks to join our well-established kin. Our hallmark is helpful kinnies who love nurturing new players. Visit our web site at http://www.hobonline.org for more details and to register for a free forum account. Or contact one of our officers in-game for an invite.
I was wondering if HoB is still recruiting? I have been looking ingame for the past few days and asking in the regional chat for anyone from HoB, but so far no one has been answering. I'm on the west coast so I have been checking at various time throughout the day and evening, but no luck so far. If someone could contact me ingame I would love it.
I have been playing for the past 2 yrs and basiclly just taking my time exploring Middle Earth so as a result my highest character, a hunter, is only lvl 38, but my other 8 alts range from lvl 15 to lvl 24. I'm ususally on with my hunter "Joreel" early morning and mid evening. Currently I'm playing my alt Tkar...

Hello Joreel,
The House is definitely still welcoming new members ... and will be doing so for a long time to come. Now that we know you're looking for us, an officer will be contacting you if you're in-game in the next few hours or day.
Alternatively ... if you go to the social panel and type 'Blackrock' in the Filter field, that will pull up a list of kin members that are currently online no matter what region they're in. By sending a /tell to any of them, you should be able to find out if a kin officer is online. Several of our officers are on the west coast.
The House of Blackrock is recruiting!
Some of our members have been here since the beginning and many are new. So we have people of all levels. HoB is family friendly - meaning chat is kept at pg13 and real-life comes first.
We have mostly casual players but a few are interested in all the end-game instances and raids. For when you do like to raid, we are members of the Windfola Alliance. This is a group of kins (more than 10 and the list keeps growing) that has its own web site and chat channel (within LotRO). The Alliance runs a monthly calendar where you can sign-up for instances and raids.
I would just like to thank HoB for an incredible group of people, I recently joined and have enjoyed every moment. Super nice members, they love to help there members out and are all very helpful with advice.
