Except one glaring issue you're overlooking...
This improperly tested item was properly tested and an issue appeared because of the test last night.
That's the whole point of these events, to put undue amounts of stress on a system to see what issues will crop up.
So your statement is wholly incorrect, and woefully uninformed.

Okay, yes I was frustrated because I REALLY REALLY wanted to try out skirmish! Then I had no idea what I was gonna do after looking over some of the changes. Class Books being sold by the trainers upset me because I spent way too much gold on all my books. Now its 189 silver, arghhh...
What topped the night off for me was that LAG fest. I think somewhere around 50 heroes taking him down... Would've been fun to fellow up with the lot. However very disappointed that my heart seeker only did 889 damage to +Scruff.

Yeah. I spent several gold repeatedly wiping in the Rift when it first came out. Now you can run through it with a fellowship of 60s and never die. Things are always more expensive at first and then get cheaper later. I would personally prefer to see class books be a skirmish reward and not just sold by a vendor, but given that those books gate class skills, they wanted them easily accessible. GOOD.

Yes, it's called a "stress test" for a reason. Your participation is optional.

not quite. the issue clearly was not load on the server, as even hours after the event was supposed to have ended, and the server was close to empty, the skirmishes were still inaccessible to those not in beta. im pretty sure the problem was with the character copy system, or the way they tried to flag beta accounts vs. non beta accounts. both of these things would not have been issues on a live server.
anyway, im not upset about not being able to preview skirmishes, but im a little perplexed by the lack of a response by turbine. seems like we wont be getting one until at least tomorrow, as its after 5:00 in boston. hopefully theyre busy trying to fix the problem, but it would be nice to know that

Yeah, I wish they would've done it a bit sooner.

Don't get me wrong, I loved being a part of it. I was ROFL'ing the whole time chasing after +Scruff around Esteldin not knowing whether or not he was fighting back. He was scary at 2.3MillionMorale, but we took him down, YAY!
It's just sad all these people are getting all upset about it, screaming bloody murder and all.
I'm glad they did open up a preview. Played with horse emoticons and actions on horseback (talking to NPC's and entering through doors); that was great!
I'm hoping they still let us preview the skirmish system before dec 1.

Re: Preview Event Announced
It was, obviously, a bummer that I didn't get to run any skirmishes. But I don't mind a whole lot, I know what is going to happen leading up to them. Hopefully, if they do have another preview, my minstrel will still be on there and I won't need to do the orders of war over again.

Glad the stress test is helping work out some problems before launch.

Actually, it probably was due to stress, maybe not directly on the skirmish system, but the copy system they had in place, which then pushed towards the skirmish system.
That said, you have no clue what could and couldn't be attributed to something stress related, and that's why these events take place.
As for Turbine fixing it, I'm pretty sure they are going to, as it is something that affects a key part of the game systems. It would be really out of the ordinary for Turbine to let something like this stick through.

We know the experience on Tuesday night was disappointing for some of you and we appreciate your patience and assistance in tracking this issue down.
As a thank you, we will be leaving Bullroarer open and available to you for the weekend. We hope you enjoy the Skirmishes!
Be sure to check out the new combat and mounts systems too!

So does this mean the character I've been waiting for 26 hours now to copy, will be available to play this weekend?

Re: Preview Event Announced
Or better yet, just open up Eyes and Guard Tavern so we can level up.

Did the little birdie mention anything about enabling the Eyes&Guard Tavern again? Maybe at least the bestower to lvl 30?
This would be great for all "unfortunate" European players, who only have low level chars on the US servers and would love to contribute to the skirmish testing...
