I highly recommend checking out these links before you barter your crit items if you're not that familiar with how everything shakes out. Apparently a lot of people have ended up bartering items for one profession to the detriment of another.

Ok, I'm a noob. When I went to the barter NPC in Esteldin, I only saw one option for bartering each item... was there a way to choose that I missed?

When bartering remember there are two NPCs, one near the Cook's Guild in Michel Delving and one outside of the Crafting Hall in Michel Delving.

Be sure to double check what you're bartering for! You have multiple options in some cases. Make sure you get the item you need for your profession.

Also, because I noticed a lot of talk in various servers' OOC last night, the Elegant Claw is not an optional ingredient, it's a required ingredient. So it has no barter equivalent. Same with intestines for cooks.

Sapience, one thing I noticed is that ingredients like those (elegant claws, intestines, horns, etc.) are NOT stacking to 100. They still only stack to 20. Don't know if you'll peek back into this thread but hoping that this was only an oversight.

this info came too late, I dumped hundereds of crit items on one npc

Sapience, maybe you could chime in on why (since it's becoming pretty obvious that many people have made this mistake, and many more will who don't read the forums) it is impossible for a GM to help us if we mistakenly barter for a item useless to our profession?

Please allow them GM power to remove the incorrect items and either replace it with the desired item or replace the barter token items so that we can try again and trade for the correct items.

Would ease a lot of disgruntlement.

And yes, I was summarily dismissed by one GM already on this issue.

I agree - I bartered 27 Great claws for nothing....

I'm really pissed at this point - at least have people who petition/got the wrong item get their great claws back and let them chose.

I know will not happen but someone could have warned us. Agreed it is our fault for not scrolling down the entire rows but this was not set up in a very helpful way.

I'm SM in all tradeskills and maxed guild in all(2 accounts).

Well I guess I managed to ruin a lot of collected stuff with this one, I just went to the barter guy with my tradeskill mule and quickly traded hundreds of crit items...didn't read a thing....just wanted to finish so I could run check out the book before everyone finished it (it's hell to do anything group after the first few days).


Just to be nice, could you maybe devise some system so folks could re-do it if they messed up?

....but only if you can do it now, fixing it "soon", (4 months from now) wouldn't do much good.

i doubt a GM resolution will be offered, so perhaps the trade channel or auction hall will have to do to get the items you can use.

at least for me, knowing that several trophies were used in more than one profession kept me from making the same mistake as many seem to have made.
