The Spirit Of The Age
Absolutely. Not slamming and slandering Turbine over every perceived slight or discrepancy isn't being a fanboy, it's simply not being a jerkass. Something I wish more...
I share this sentiment, but also appreciate the Morton's Fork the developers are faced with.
If they make the game too hard, they'll lose players to the "learning cliff" (see...
Indeed. I can't remember a time when these sorts of festival events didn't have a cooldown. It's not something that came along with F2P, and labeling it "P2P" is somewhat specious.
It could definitely use revision, but in a way, it's a rather poetic and somewhat prophetic introduction to the Moors.
And a way to give hungry wargs a Scooby snack.
Hobnanigan chicken is the most tender chicken you can get.
*Ahem* Do you think you guys could be so kind as to not completely undermine the premise of this thread?
It has bugs and they are still doing quite a few tweaks, but overall it's reasonably well-polished and extremely playable. My most recent experiences have been during stress tests...

It's only a grind if it isn't fun, and I can definitely think of an MMO that isn't a grind. I plan to be playing it tomorrow night when it goes live, in fact, though we don't speak of it here.

On The Mark
I thought Jackson's Edoras could have been bigger, but what there was of it was very suitable to the Rohirrim and, as usual for him, masterfully done.
These are people who live with...
Worth A Thousand Words
Indeed. The art is beautiful and a worthy representation of Tolkien's vision.
I must also commend the "lore monkeys" for their scrupulous adherence to canon and attention...
Yes, the game will get harder to play, but not in the way I think you mean.
Finally, the wisdom and insight of /glff available right here in the official forums.

In With The New
Not all the new titles in development are in the same old space. One, at least, is doing things very differently and may very well shake up the genre enough to inspire changes...

Definitely Agility. On open terrain, nothing touches my Hunter.
Even with F2P, banning players potentially costs money in the form of time spent investigating, lost potential revenues and dealing with fallout such as appeals/protests/etc. All the more so with...

I'm an altaholic and also tend to play conservatively, and after dozens of times through, there aren't too many surprises.
These days, I go for Undying on my new toons mainly...
It was the same way with the "envelope exploit" during the Anniversary Festival. I kept reporting it and got the same canned "we'll look into it" response.
After seeing the same players I reported...
You realize, of course, that after a post like this, you can expect to be /kissed everywhere you go. :o
The Short Arm Of The Law
While there will be problems with individual players no matter what the circumstances, my concerns about issues like freaver farming stem from the fact that they are a...
Lest my previous sentiments be misunderstood, despite my own insistence on anonymity, I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with group leaders wanting to inspect players as a...
Blind invites and cold tells mainly. In the Moors, making it a little harder for spies to know where I am.
And if it irritates players, like some in this thread, who would presume to tell me what...
If they have bug fixes for the faire, they'll roll them out. They've done plenty of patches and hotfixes in the past, so that wouldn't be unheard of.
From what I understand, the fair will be...
There you go. If you drink enough that you can't tell whether you're drunk in-game or not, problem solved.
Hard to go wrong with a good kinship, but a good kinship is the key, and even good kinships have their ups and downs.
If you like gambling and are feeling lucky, the instance finder is there for...
Rates Of Expansion
Off-topic: It's both hilarious and a bit sad to see people pontificate about a game they clearly know little or nothing about. Suffice it to say that people who have actually...
