You could use the Moormap plugin to do this. You can make annotations on a set of maps to show where NPCs are.

As long as you can get the mats you can have low level alts in each guild building rep with that guild and getting access to improved and legendary recipes without ever really leveling the characters...

We use an officer only section of our Kin website for this. Would be a nice in-game feature, but I won't hold my breath waiting for it.
