Re: Gandalf the White vs The Witch King of Angmar
Thanks for that.
(Not to mention it is probably further confused by how much was J.R.R.'s revision and how much was his son's editing. )
(One of these days I'll go back and read all the... -

I thought the consensus opinion was the Glorfindel in LotR is a different Glorfindel than the Balrog killer of old...

And a Balrog wields not the light of elves...
And Gandalf delayed them when they were not commited to their strength.
*shrug* conjecture on all sides, including my own. -

Re: Gandalf the White vs The Witch King of Angmar
He expresses and awful lot of doubt and surprise at times for me to be completely reconciled to fate guiding all.
And that is why opinions are cool and varied. -

Re: Gandalf the White vs The Witch King of Angmar
That is the larger philosophical argument, certainly, originating from the Silmarillion rather than the story text of LotR, per se.
*shrug* I'd still like to think there was more free-will... -

I have seen this mentioned many times and respectively disagree.
The mood of the book scene of their confrontation was at the height of the gloom of the battle, and the power and anger of the... -

Re: Servers down why? Patch notes where? Why does Turbine hate me? 30 May 2012 Edit
I know. They called me up and said, "This is a representative from Turbine Games. We have a few questions for you. What day is it that your vacation starts? Do you have a few hours to kill before...

Re: Will PJ kill off any of the dwarves in The hobbit part 1?
This.
Plus there's already satisfying death to punctuate movie 2

Re: Map problem
I had this occur to me once, also.
That is in Tāl Methedras, right?
I tried logging out/in and it did not help.
I had to exit the zone back to Dunland-proper, and when I re-entered Tāl... -

Re: Google Map Directions: The Shire to Mordor
Used to be similar going North America to somewhere in Europe.
Directions would take you to Boston Harbor where they had you jump in and swim across the Atlantic to France. -

Had my eye on this for a long time as it isn't just vampires, werewolves but a strong Lovecraftian and conspiracy element (you can play as an agent of Illuminati, for instance). It has a nice visual...

Re: Are we over-estimating the Hobbit film?
And I am 100% okay with this.
Sure, the creative impetus for The Hobbit was a light hearted tale for his children, but there were clearly darker and more dramatic elements, particularly as the... -

Re: Game of Thrones Season 2!
It was, indeed, an openly acknowledged issue with season one (budget restrictions combat off screen). By all accounts, we are supposed to expect things to be different with the climax of season two....

Re: I got 5000 TP for mothers day, what should I buy?
As a recent new player, I can vouch that this is a pretty solid recommendation to get off the ground smoothly.
I'll also say I approve the Evendim recommendations. Fun region. -

I cannot believe it took me so long to play this game
I am astonishingly late to LotRO. I say this because it is easy to say I am one of the biggest LotR/Hobbit fans I know, but an addiction to another MMO outweighed any draw on my attention over this...

Other reports I've read indicate the pub is using images from the films in material at the location, which is probably what triggered the attention after being in business for 20 years.
It is also... -
