There are some named Hobbits that can read and write, e.g. Bilbo, Frodo and even Sam. Also, in the books the Hobbits sing a lot and for sure there were enough of them who could play an instrument....

Actually, he was such a great chapmp, that he one-shotted 70 trolls, and then, when his axe melted it needed a horde of orcs and the great Balrog-Lord himself to tame him. A real champion.
