You can't "stock up" on grims, and indeed the timing is way off. You need a lot of things to go perfectly right in order for this to work, though I think it may be possible.

Raid kinships are at the point where Symbols are going to alts and such, so you should see more on the market soon, which will drive down the price.

I sometimes get this when soloing as well. Doesn't have as much of a negative effect, but it's still really annoying and makes the game experience far less enjoyable.

Yep, we had like 2-3 Acid wipes due to this as well. Kinnies not in raid reported lag spikes at exactly the same time (in completely different zones).
