Cooky Cutter Wardens: Round Two

I realise that the original cooky cutter wardens thread was a troll post, but if it was posted now, I think both it and the heart ripped out thread would be true (even a stopped clock is right twice a day): warden builds are going to become more limited in variety, now that we're going to a trait tree instead of a trait slot system. This is a huge step backwards in terms of customisation, because it tiers traits so that the traits you like from the other lines can't be used unless you put points in those you don't like as well. Right now we can trait absolutly however we want, with the capstone traits being the only incentive, albeit a very large one, to specialize, but soon we will be forced to. With the way trait trees work in other games, you have to put a certain number of points (usualy granted one per level) into the first tier in a line (shield, spear, fist), and then you unlock the ability to put points into more useful traits. This tends to lead to cooky-cutter builds, because you can't get the useful traits in the other lines, so you just dump all your points into traits in one, just like everyone else. Now we can trait 5b, 2r, or 3b 2r, 2y, or 4r 3y, or any conceivable combination we can think of, but with a trait tree like the devs are going to implement in the new expansion, you can't. Unless that -15 seconds to jav cooldown trait from yellow is in the bottom tier of the yellow trait, we can't use that while running blue. The same for DoT/morale tap pulses, or whatever other trait. This will really kill the variation in what we can do with our traits, and I'm just wondering what you guys think about it.

So, I have noticed a change in the Ambush skill since Update 11, and not a good one. I have noticed that when you launch the javelin, a load of leaves?(I don't really know) appear for a second, and you can't move. I normally use the time running up to launch shield piercer and javelin toss, then critical strike, but I can't, this change has reduced the time I have to get to the mob.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi folks,

I am a casual PvE Warden and I just entered the Moors, and I love it there. However I am just awful. A joke.

I spend most of my very short fights stunned, silenced and disarmed as I watch my morale drain away like a bucket with no bottom.

I try to pre-buff when I can, but it is usually a warg (or 4) that gets me from stealth. I can get off Hampering Javelin and a tap, but it is down hill from there.

I could use some help with combat. What gambits are you all throwing out for survival and damage? I find that if I stay alive I am not doing any damage and vice versa.

I am going to keep at it and trying things because I would really like to get good at this class, but any combat tips from the vets would be most appreciated.

FWIW I trait spear and run at about 40% mits and roughly 23k mastery. I also just bought my last piece of Audacity armour last night before logging.

TIA
