so after once again getting bored with the failure of the hunter class i wrote a poem describing the disparity of hunters.

dunno if anyone else in interested in venting by making a poem or witty saying but here is a thread for those who have something to say about hunters in not the conventional "wall-o-text" format.

Well, this game ran fine for me until the famous "update 6" that soo many have had problems with. Yes, I've read the posts and its my fault somehow. Here's the deal though... I decided to reinstall the game and after 20 odd tries from fileplanet or using the Pando thing, it ALWAYS says 'source file' s corrupted and fails. I have also reinstalled Windows 7 twice, formatted the hard drive, run utilities to test my hardware, and found no problems with my machine, which I only bought in January of this year.

The final insult came today, when I tried to install the game from a disk I bought (Shadow's of Angmar) and still got 'file corrupted', and fail. My system seems happy in all other ways, except for Lotro.

I'm not a computer person, but this is the info from the invoice that came with my system:

Intel I7-2600K 3.40 Ghz 8M lga 1155
Kingston Hyper-X 4 gb ddr3/ 1600 Mhz (x4)
Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 Crossfire DDR3 Sata3 usb3.0 with msata connector onboard lga 1155
Nvidia gtx550ti 1gb pcie
Windows 7 Professional, 64bit

If there is anything else to try, I am all ears, but at this point, I have decided to simply quit paying for Lotro and move on... nothing is worth this frustration. And just to say it again, the game worked FLAWLESSLY until that "update 6" that brought in all the lag and whatever else.

Meh

I remember grinding out the class quests when going through 40-50. I was thinking on this topic...

I remember grinding out the class quests when going through 40-50. I was thinking on this topic while reading another poster's suggestion about solo players being able to get something in line with what people who regularly raid. It got me to thinking about how hard it is to learn secondary roles while leveling, unless you regularly group while leveling.

I have 3 level 75's (rk, champ and guard), been playing for a little less than a year, and have learned so much more about my classes while grouped and what their capabilities are. That being said, I was thinking that it would be cool to have a class quest skirm that players can solo to help learn the other aspects of gaming outside of solo play.

For example, a quest line for guards that focuses on keeping and building agro with other npc's. A champ line that would help learn how to off tank when needed. A RK line that would focus on the different damage (fire vs lightning) and healing types (single tank vs group). So on and so forth. Quest/instance/whatever could have the mechanics of it set up in such a way as to have them fail if they aren't 'doing it right' ie holding agro, off tanking, healing, and so on.....

Obviously a solution to this would be to group while leveling, and I realize that. But I think it would also add to the quality of in game play. Players who have solo'ed much of the content will at least have a background in how they function in groups. That way there is less of a learning curve when grouped, which should increase the overall competency (hopefully) of PUGS, and also shorten the learning curve for those that level alts to add to kins raiding ability.

Along with this you could add in class specific items to reward the completion of it, some tp, or whatever.

Thoughts?

Sara, Sara, Sara.....

I thought I was done with you and your off-and-running, aggro-grabbing, NPC-dying ways! Done! Done! I tell you!

But no, you had to be included in the Fornost revamp! You had to insert your cowering self into the new instance! And you had to be as squishy now at level 75 as you were at 36!

Oh Sara........

P.S. Of course with any healer involved, her quest is easy. But we were messing around on T2 Fornost last night with just three of us - champ, warden, burg - not a good combination to keep a squishy NPC alive....
