Need some help

I'm sure there are other post or links that adress these questions, so if you could send me that way or answer them that would be awesome.

Can I create a macro that tells my fellowship who I'm mezing? Can I activate it by simply clicking on the skill or do I need to press other keys to activate it?

There's a hotkey for assist, but who am I assisting? do I have to click on the small button by their name to assist?

Is there healing agro?

Are there "dots" on a mob that show how hard he is to kill? What should I be looking for to be able to tell if I could handle it? (besides level)

Re: Need some help

Hi Abbu;
I don't have answers to all your questions but I can fill in a few of them.

1) I don't know squat about macros so I don't feel qualified to respond to this one.
2) Yes, you click on the small assist button on the character profile to assist that individual. You can pull up your key mapping under Options to designate your preferred key.
3) Yes, there is healing aggro and it can be quite strong depending upon the circumstances.
4) A mobs difficulty can be also gauged by the description of the mob when you select it. For example, Normal<Signature<Elite<Elite Master<Nemesis. Otherwise it is gauged by level. There is also a color coding system for a quick determination of the mobs level relative to yours. A mob of equal level will con white. Mobs a level or two higher will con yellow, three or four levels higher will con orange, five or six levels higher will con red and those seven levels or more above your own will con purple. Dark blue mobs are one or two below you, light blue three or four below you, green is lower still and grey will not give XP at all.

Most players can solo signature mobs that con yellow. Some players can solo elites of an equal level (depending upon the class, gear and skill). Anything above that is probably not a good idea to get angry at you. I can routinely take on normal orange con mobs with any of my characters.

Hope that gives you a rough idea of what you should reasonably be able to take on. Multiple pulls can be anything from 'not so bad' to 'whew! I just barely survived!' based on a number of variables.

Good luck!

Re: Need some help

for macro's heres some useful guides, and to answer your questions, yes you can tell your group who you're mezzing, no it wont happen right as you hit the mez skill, but u can set a shortcut next to the skill, thats what i do. http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=144140 http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?p=426746

i dont know of a hotkey for assist, but you can enable "skill target fowarding" under combat options which is extremely useful. if you select someone on your side (whether in group or not) and you use an attack skill it will attack their target, if you select an enemy and use a healing or buffing skill it will heal/buff their target.

yes theres healing aggro, but as you go up levels the healing classes get skills/traits to lower healing aggro so that a skilled healer shouldnt get much aggro at all.

you can see the circle around the mob's portrait that says how hard it is to kill, heres a thread on it http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...=1#post4153573
