In part as a result of your post, a bunch of the monster player skills were made insta-dismounts.

Frelorn's got nothing to do with this though.

That's cool, thanks for the info and the hint that it wasn't too late to implement some changes in the PvP arena to take into the account the new mount mechanics.

I thought Frelorn was the PvP dev, but since it's a 'mount' issue, it's your baby. Thanks again!

I'm pretty sure Frelorn is a community team member who likes to post about Monster Play. I don't think there is a PvP dev, Systems works on it if they decide to.

Wasn't me either - I'm an engineer, I work more on the nuts and bolts things (like my blog post). It was the Systems team, as TheOneRinger correctly deduced.

Would be useful to have a list of who does what on the dev team. Makes the blame game easier to play :P

Re: Dev Diary Feedback: Mounts 2.0

I must confess, I haven't read all of this thread, it's rather long, so I apologize if this has been mentioned.

One thing I've liked the idea of is having a horse that doesn't disappear when dismounted. There's a loading screen of Gandalf standing beside a stream with his horse, something we can't do. As soon as we dismount, the horse disappears.

Personally, I would have liked to see horses summoned as a pet. It could have a single power, the one that lets you mount up (you could add more later to facilitate combat!). As a bonus, I could rename my horse Bucephalus, and everyone would see it (I wonder how many would get the reference...).

Is your toon named Alexander? If not, he shouldn't be allowed to ride it

I do however, agree with both of your ideas...

The greatest game for the Apple IIe my parents would not let me play that was kept in Dad's "special" drawer. I assume that its awesomeness was so great, my child mind would have exploded.

I never did play the thing though...

So do you know why Bucephalus fits in that game. That was the reference I was looking for :P
