How do I buy an account for someone?

my brother is on the free trial, and i want to get him a full account, but i don't want him to lose his character that he's created thus far. is this possible?

You could do a number of things. You could put his account on your credit card. You could buy him a prepaid credit card and let him upgrade his account himself. You could buy him a gametime card also.

Just remember that if he (just for example) bought some gold and got himself banned they may ban all accounts associated with that card. Im sure your brother wouldnt do anything like that just saying might want to protect yourself.

right. i'm just trying to figure out how to buy a new account and be able to email him the product key so he can apply it to his trial account

while this is not recommended by turbine, (for the safety of the account in question) he can give you his account info/or you give him your (method of payment) And that would work, I did that with my GF account, I called to ask Turbine if that was against the rules and they said no, but as I said before the don't recommend it.

here's the thing:

he's obviously created a turbine account to be able to play the trial

he liked the game enough to buy a "play time" card off Amazon for 6 months

however, since he hasn't officially bought the game and applied a verification code to his account, he's stuck in limbo as a trial account

his birthday is tomorrow and i'm simply trying to obtain a full account code for a fresh game so he can become a "whole member" without doing the whole sharing email address and password/credit card swap thing

edit: for example:

i went to the turbine site to purchase an account. the purchaser account must match the physical address. so i can't even buy the box game and have it sent to his address. kind of silly

my guess, go to best buy or gamestop, buy a copy and send it too him

I would also suggest going to gamestop somewhere by you. I saw the collectors edition of mines of moria for 8.99 there the other day. I bought another one just to have two of the maps. Then just email him the product ID and he should be good to go.
