Which server at least 'appears' to be the busiest?

As the title suggests, in your opinions, which server would be the best to start up fresh new characters on?

Right now we are on Arkenstone and in the Shire and Bree areas there are only the occasional player seen.

Thoughts?

Re: Which server at least 'appears' to be the busiest?

Brandywine is believed to be the most populated server, with Elendilmir (the unofficial Oceanic server) and Landroval (the unofficial RP server) considered the next two most populated servers. Then there are several medium population servers such as my home, Silverlode, and a few others. The ones recommended for newer players are generally considered the lower population servers.

All the servers started on the same date at the same location. Brandywine was the name of one of the beta servers so many players that liked the name and were in beta made their characters there when the game went live. Elendilmir abd Landroval due to their self-proclaimed server designations became a self fulfilling prophecy and therefore attracted more players. The other servers are similar to each other in cross section of player types and population. The lowest populated server is not terribly lower than the one above them, so the difference in server populations after the main three are not that large.

While (we hope) there will always be new players entering Middle-earth and veteren players starting new low level alts, most of the player base are in the higher level regions, finishing deeds, getting those last few levels before release of Mirkwood, advancing their crafts at the supreme craft facilites, or otherwise engaged in the higher level zones. Also, even if a veteren player started a new alt today within a few days they would be at LV30 or higher. The Shire, although beautifully done, has little reason for higher level characters to go there unless they want to farm or cook. Bree should be reasonably busy since it is the hub for most of the SoA release content.

You can certainly consider starting on a different server, but personally I think you would do just as well on any server by finding a good kinship that had similar playstyles and personalities to yours. All servers have excellent kinships of various size and experience that are happy to accept new members that are unfamiliar with the game.

Now the disclaimer. None of us really KNOW the server populations since they have never been released by Turbine. All of the above is conjecture based upon player observation and guesswork.

Bree only the occasional player? At what time are you playing? You should find plenty of players in the evening.

I agree with the above poster: getting into a kin is a must if you feel alone. Drop me a tell if you need help (name is Endacil)
